I thought that high quality steel scraps were usually sent back to the foundry? There is quite a bit of money in recycling you know.

That said, I voted yes. A mini prybar made of .25" S-7 would be pretty sweet.

I like titanium the best for little tools.

I would love to see some. It would also help feed our steel hunger while waiting for the next release.

Dan, have you seen what Atwood tools sell for? I'd love a little keychain SR-77 prybar/bottle opener with crinkle coat & the logo burned onto it. Oh! How about JYDs get their # burned onto it as well?

I think some little doodads made from scrap pieces would be great. I've got lots of friends with lots of keychains to hang things from.

Steel costs way too much just to throw away. I say just sharpen and treat all of the smaller scraps in whatever shapes they may be in and sell them in grab bags as ninja throwing weapons. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Who knows if they even have quality scraps that they can make a reasonable amount of these things for.
besides, Busse (and SY too I would guess) throws out plenty of steel that doesn't meet their requirements, I don't think a bunch of useless scraps are going to mean much to them.
besides... all these scraps would have to meet SY's standards, which (if anything like Busse's) are very high and all of these scraps would have to pass too.
Don't get me wrong, I think those kinds of things are VERY cool and potentially useful... but no way is it worth it.
It's not SY's thing... they should keep making serious knives!

Call me crazy but my personal preference would be for SYKCO to ignore distractions and ship more cutlery, more often.

I'd rather a new blade than some doodads made from scraps of old blades.

i got little widgets laying all over my car and house.i'd love a busse kin widget/mini pry bar type thingy.

I've got an Atwood Prybaby in S30V on my keys and a similar tool in SR77 would be a nice addition. $45 for a bottle opener pry thingy is pretty steep but, Hey, I'm a knife nut and I want it all!!!

I was thinking some SR-77 toothpicks would be kind of cool, but a bottle opener works.

Even a small 3" scraper blade just for using on a mag-block fire starter.
It always makes my teeth itch a little dragging one of my favorite blades on the flint rod. Even if it is the back of the knife.

And even drill a hole in so it could be chained to the block. I'm liking this idea. I'd shell out $15 - $20 for it even if it was just sharp scrap.

or you could just use an old hacksaw blade... or any other piece of sharpened scrap metal.
