Need some good wishes. Massive fire, very close...

There is a big wildfire literally down the street headed this way. It doesn't look good. Trying to evacuate all the animals and stuff. I've never seen it this bad, so close to home. I have to say I'm pretty scared. The lumber store down the road is completely destroyed.

It's looking like they have it contained a few blocks away, but it's supposed to be windy tonight. The 84Lumber seems to have survived with only lumber and fencing in the back being damaged. It's pretty wild and confusing up here right now.

I hope they get it under control man. These crazy disaters everywhere really make you realize how lucky we are. Anything can happen but we hope and pray for the best.

Prayers ae sent brother. Please take care and be safe. I know last year we had some serious fire here on the plains and when it was headed this way I had no idea what to expect. Tornados I can handle, fires--no thank you.

Update

Property is OK so far. They were using the pond out back to fill the helicopter buckets to drop on the fire. It looks like a major war was fought just down the street. They are saying around 60 homes and businesses are destroyed, but at least the Harley Davidson guys got the bikes out as the building was burning. There are many conflicting reports right now and it's still burning. All the animals are evacuated form the property(wild horse, 2 cows, bobcat, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 40+ chickens).

Good luck. I'd start making plans to bolt ASAP just in case. My wife's uncle lives real close to where the fire is now and he decided to roll out this morning since the fires up there are so unpredictable and he's been through tons of them.
I guess it gets old after a while.

I'm glad to hear you're still OK. Not hearing anything had me worried for you. Out of curiosity, where do you take that many animals during an emergency?

A bunch of friends made it in before the hi-way was closed and helped load them and we took them to a friends place. The nice thing about knowing horse people is they all have trailers and big trucks. Most of them have a fair amount of property also. They also go way out of their way to help when disaster strikes.

We were stuffing 25 chickens in a large dog crate, just to get them out. One of the cows stepped on my Mom's toe and broke it. but other than that everyone and everything made it out OK. There are still some gas fires(not sure why they are having trouble tuning off the gas) in some of the destroyed neighborhoods and they are still hosing down hot spots, but the worst looks to be over. There is one neighborhood about 1/4 mile away that has ONE house surviving. All the rest when burned. Amazing when you see it.

Thoughts and wished are with you pal. I know where you're coming from.
Spent the weekend evacuating my buddy's animals from his place due to forest
fire as well.
Yours is a massive, massive fire.
We've got 6 smaller ones in a bit of a circle around us here, but none that
close.

Keep safe, and remember, a building can be rebuilt, but you can't.

Wow, That is some scary stuff guys. Ted...glad to hear that you are Ok. Read that a couple firefighters got killed in a N. Cal wildfire. Somebody must have been lookin' out for you. Bruce and Dave...praying that you guys stay safe too.

We have a family (husband/wife and and the husbands brother) from here (missouri) that works for a company that is providing shower/restroom and water facilities for some of the fires. They just moved up into northern California this past week or so. God bless everyone and Our church is praying the threat will soon be over.

Other than a cow stepping on my Mom's foot all is well. The fire is contained finally.
