As much as I like the Black w. Orange G10 I'm going to have to pass. Too much coin for my lady not to notice. That and I just bought an Arcteryx ILBE pack. GREAT looking knives though, very jealous of the guys in the yard that pick one up.

Really? Why would anyone pay $347 plus shipping for a short gray machete? Me too. Same color. INFI!

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 02:59 AM

I'm waiting to pull the trigger until I find out how much it'll cost me to have them forget the offered colors and throw some bama clay on there. I've decided that, if I'm gonna spend over 300 bucks for a knife, I'm gonna do everything I can to get it exactly the way I want it. I really dig my Bama Clay FSH, but hate the machined mags, and I like my Sandstorm G10 SJTAC, but find myself not using it because I'd rather try to snag one in Bama Clay, so I'm keeping this one mint for possible trades. I'm sure I would use the bushwacker just as much if it was in one of them boring colors, but for that kinda money, I don't feel bad about being picky.

Hey, it's your money MM. I just happen to like the colors offered, but I don't blame you at all. It could happen. I wish I could get them to make a 14" blade model, but that would have to be a custom shop job.....big bucks! I can do well with a 10" machete most of the time. I have long arms.

Uh, that would be the DFLE, snotpig. It only weighs about the same as a good camp machete, which is exactly how I use mine.

No funds at this time. My son is due next month; so, I need to be prepared for the hospital bills, diapers, sanity, etc. Hopefully, by the time the Yard makes a thin chopper, I'll have funds available.

Sanity's overrated.

Just kidding Snotpig.
I'm with you on priorities.
At first glimpse I thought you said tin chopper.

That knife is just too big for my tastes. I know alot of folks like the big blades, but I am not one of them.

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 10:52 AM

Well, maybe if I sold off both my DFCG and DFLE I could get one of these Mistresses, but I'll have to pass. I'd rather go for a less expensive CG M9.

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 03:03 PM

The M9CG is quite a knife - you can't go wrong with it!

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 03:33 PM

It looks sweet and I know its INFI but it's still reminds me of a DF. I have both DFs and the only reason to get this would be because it's INFI, So for the moment I'm still dithering on it decisions decisions.....

I had to get in for (1) while I still have a job. There goes the overtime check. Aww, maybe (2).

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 04:23 PM

Other than an actual machete, I haven't found a big knife better at bush whacking than the DFLE. But I bet that new Bushwacker will be right up there with the DFLE, M9LE, and RTAK.

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 04:37 PM

I'm thinking the BWBM might outright replace my M9LE. My one complaint about the M9LE is how easily it stains - the BWBM will fix that nicely, while also adding another inch or so of length.

And far more expensive.

Yeah. I should have bought all six of those Collins machetes and sold them for $40 each. That would have half paid for the Bushwacker.

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 05:52 PM

Just came from Busses's site. They Are pretty!!! But my dogfather's due in this week and I'm sure I'll be very happy with her. But I'm in with a couple of others here, I'll save my money for Rats and Dogs.
Still want the following:
M9
SoD
Dumpster Mutt
Ratweiler(REALLY WANT ONE!!)
And listening to Horn Dog's praises, maybe, just maybe and Dogfather LE

I mean, I'd like to own a few Busses as well. I'm drooling over a FSH and a CGFBM and a jackhammer and HG55 and Hell Razor. But More than likely, I'll get my rats and dogs before I can own a Busse.

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 06:02 PM

I think that's what most of us feel about the Bussekin blades, but once you have one of each then the addiction gets overwhelming!!!

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 08:35 PM

You know what's interesting, RAT Cutlery is coming out with something very similarly sized to the Bushwhackers. I'm not saying it will be better or anything like that, just that there are two similar sized knives from two fine companies coming out pretty close to each other. I'm still hoping for a CG M9. If I had that, I think I'd be willing to part with my DFCG. I'll never part with the DFLE. A lot of us waited a long time for that one, and it was well worth it!

Oh, congrats to those who got in on the Bushwhacker! It looks like a nice knife!

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/02/09 08:36 PM

I am in for a muddy blade/black G10 combo, it isn't priced all that bad considering it is over 10 inches of INFI. I am guessing I will have 8 weeks to save my pennies before they are ready to ship anyway. Good luck MM on your quest for Bama Clay, keep us posted. I really don't know why they don't offer it this time as a standard option. I can see minimizing handle choices to keep cost down but blade coating shouldnt be an issue.

Is this what you do at work, SB? Look at knife forums and order knives? I've got to get a job where you work when I'm done with school!

The mistresses look fine , but I haven't decided if I will buy one.

Will they be long open for ordering ?
Because I first want to see what the next release for the yard will be....

I bet they will be up for a while. I am getting one, maybe two. I missed the TB by a couple hours but I really wanted the BW more anyway. Black/Black and/or Black/Orange and Black G10.

Re: Mistresses are up - 11/03/09 12:00 AM

another funny note on ordering, I was at home last night with the family, our computer is out in the living room. Well the wife stepped out for a couple of minutes so I logged on to see if they launched them yet, when I saw they did I felt like I was on some top secret mission. I never typed so fast, one eye watching the door behind me (opens right up and the computer screen is facing you). I clicked the submit order button and the page bogged way down as I sat there watching the little page loading indiciator at the bottom of my screen hoping mrs Bullets doesn't walk back in. Well I got it done safely... and that my friend is why I do this crap at work

So, now that the first operation is done (ordering), how does the second operation take place when you need to get the package before Mrs SB gets to it?
