I don't believe he's released a knife on a Friday or a weekend yet. The DF was released on a Wednesday and the second release of the SS4 occurred on a weekday too IIRC.

He's done Wed, Thur, & Fri.. that i know of...

The initial price may be high but the cost of ownership is low and the resale value is excellent, even for high mileage "users".

Exactly, Bors. And while Busse, Randall and Chris Reeve products all have well-deserved reputations, so do nearly equivalent products from other manufacturers that cost a great deal less. Case in point? Scrap Yard vs. Busse.

We've discussed this in other threads, but the question remains. Other than those who test knives to reveal their ability to absorb punishment, who among us would ever take a Scrap Yard knife to its limits in normal use? The answer is, none of us would. And we all know it. As a result of destructive testing, we also know that a Scrap Yard knife has the ability to respond gracefully to practically ANYTHING we throw at it, anticipated or unanticipated. Other than in the remotest of circumstances, who among us would ever need to rely on more from a knife than a Scrap Yard knife is capable of delivering? The answer is, none of us would. And we all know it. So for those who purchase knives primarily to use them, why pay more for a knife than a Scrap Yard knife costs?

Quite true. I hope the need does not arise for anyone to need more from a SYK than it was designed for. The fact is that barring trading or selling our grand children are most likely to inherit them.
