I wouldn't mind catching a CAB. I'm really digging EDC sized fixed blades lately hope to start carrying one once I get the right pants.

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/05/10 08:04 AM

I like the idea of a fixed blade EDC... wore one for years when I worked in the field... but now that I work in a government office job... its all I can do with my EDC folding knife... but I always have 2-3 folders on my person...well, except in the courthouse...

Yeah! Cool that someone posted this in the yard. I really wanted this to come out and tried to participate actively in that death chat they had going on over at BF.

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/05/10 03:19 PM

Interesting how they are offering it with and without a choil- although I think a full sized choil would work on that knife.

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/05/10 04:17 PM

Great, I need to go look at it. I told myself if there was an ano from the Busse firm I would get one.....me and my sending subliminal messages.

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/05/10 04:21 PM

I'm definately down for a CABS, might get a SCABS as well, but after the elf choil on my BAD catching on everything, I'm kinda hating small choils right now

What does the c and sc stand for?

Choilless Anorexic Boss Street (CABS) and Small Choil Anorexic Boss Street (SCABS)

It looks like a pretty nice knife.

I wonder when it will coming out.

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/05/10 05:46 PM

Fan-Freakin-Tastic!

Down for a CABS as well J. Would make a great slicer and won't catch the small choil on things. I also agree with RN that a large choil could have been interesting...similar to the SS4.

That blade, wrapped in Mudders...would've had me all sexed up

Jerry's busy making announcements, and Dan has gone missing

A weiner dog it won't be! Mine is so crazy sharp and such a great slicer.

Go 154CM!

With the smaller knives, what a great steel!

Not really. Dan last posted on Monday, August 30th. That's only a couple of hours ago in the Bussekin Time Zone. And there's still a couple of weeks to go before we arrive at the average length of time between Scrap Yard releases.

Patience, grasshopper!

I have all the patience in the world...as I don't really "need" any releases I was just offering a gentle nudge to the top dog, in hopes that he might respond to our "sip'n'talk" thread

I remember reading somewhere that even Jerry feels that when it comes to thinner blades that D2 outperforms Infi , that said, I'll still take at least one!!!

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/12/10 10:21 AM

I'm with you on this. A S4LE in 154CM would be a great addition to the ScrapYard history. I have started using my SS4 more and I never imagined I would like it as much as my Muk and Wiener. It seems mudders and 1534CM is just a great combo that rings in at a good price.

+1. When you're right, you're right. An SS4 re-make in satin-finished 154CM is still a Grail Knife AFAIC.

No choil for this knife is what I like.................then again a Yard blade of the same design in 154CM would be grand.

100% agree. Depending on edge retention...this could replace the Ingram...maybe...possibly. Have to test it on a few hogs

I will try and put together an "field use" review together of the smaller blades that some may use for hunting purposes. I will be sure to start a new thread when the time is right.

1) Ease of handling
2) Edge Retention
3) Gutting
4) Skinning
5) De-boning

The current lineup for competition in the upcoming season:

Go-To blades:

The Family...SS4 has a chance at some work. Wiener will likely stay at camp:

I just find it hard to pay that much for a little knife. I have no small Busses. For blades under 5", I tend to go with Swamp Rats, Scrappers, and ESEE knives. But that's just me. That choiless Boss Street LE is as pretty a small knife as I have seen. It does tempt.

QFT

I'd love to have everything that comes out, but BC is just too rich for my blood. I can't seem to hurt my Dawgs and Rats....so outside of one token Big Busse Combat...I'm sticking to the Yard and Swamp.

I'm going to be envious of all those with CABS. I'm not going for it, but may regret it all the same in the future. Too many projects in the boiler...and I'm hopeful that the Yard brings a small user to the plate soon.

good point, it was funny, it was around midnight my time, gearing up for bed after a night of football/beer and I figured I would sweep the forums one last time before bed. When I saw the release I got excited, then really bummed when I couldn't push order thru and then this morning felt great

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/15/10 07:15 AM

My thoughts exactly Vic. I love the look of the CABS and think it would be a super knife, but at $310+ shipped I have others like my Vex, RMD, S5, etc. that fill the slot just fine. Instead for the same price I just bought another B11 which I can very easily justify as it is the best Busse value out there, IMHO.

Now if Dan would just make that us that [censored] 3.5 inch satin flat ground 154cm drop point [color:"orange"] ORANGE [/color] mudder... Hell, I'd be all over it! Thats not asking too much now is it?

This is exactly my problem. Living so close to DC and working in DC affords me no oppurtunity to carry a nice fixed blade. Concealed carry of any fixed blade is illegal for MD, DC, and VA. Open carry is so uncommon as to make one stand out.

All ABS line looks so good, but $300 for something to hold while at home...that's what my scrapizashi is for.

Re: Anorexic BOSS Street Announcement - 09/16/10 08:08 AM

Knob Creek is only about three weeks away, so I'll wait to see what the crew brings to town. I'm not wanting to sell off my collection or anything, but I feel like I've hit a threshold where there's not much that's "better" than knives I already own. I'll attend the Fall sale, and I'll probably end up spending more than I expect to (about double is the norm), but my excitement over new steel is definitely waning.
