2011 Updates

Ok here it is, the Updates thread for 2011! Hope Y'all like it.

Well well well. 2010 Turned out to be one for the record books. Oh Wait, IT IS! Check out the 2010 Summary thread and find out all the happenings that I remembered. I know I left out some things and for that I apologize IF you want to know everything, go back and read the entire 30 some pages, it will at times be amusing.

Ok here we go for 2011, the Year of the Rabbit!

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft thread is starting the New Year off with 19,585 posts. We'll see where it goes from there.

The Knives Forum side began it's 2011 life with post number 440,007. Yup, broke into the 440K arena of posts and the ending count for today is 440,014.

The ZDC forum default page count has begun life on page 902 of the Death chat.

The NEW YEAR began life with a starting post count of 463,971 posts and is ending todays count with 464,007 posts.

So steadly marching toward our 500,000 goal and removing our ending count for today we have 35,993 posts to go.

Here is to a great year!

Ok, here we are on the 2nd day of the New Year and already we're setting records! Yup, we have increased our counts over yesterday!

At this time our Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is at 19,588 posts, up 3 from yesterday.

The Knives Forum section is now at 440,195 posts, up from 440,007 yesterday morning. Not a bad one day increase!

The ZDC page count for the forum default users is now at page 907 up from 902 yesterday morning.

The total forum post count is now at 464,189 posts which is up from 464,007 for an increase of 182 posts.

Ok now for our goal quest. As of this post we now have 35,811 posts to go! Yup, we'll get there, just keep on a postin!

I think most of us would quote Will Smith for this thing!

Ok let's get on with the numbas

1. The Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is not at 19,588 up from 19,588 Sunday morning for a 0 post gain. Hey, that's just pretty normal for that section.

The Knives Forum side is now at 440,778 up from 464,195 for a gain of 583 posts!

The ZDC page count is now at 932 pages for a page increase of 25 pages!

Ok the BIG numbers. The TOTAL post count for the entire site is now at 464,774 for an increase of 585 posts!

OK, using these new numbers that leaves us with needing 35,226 posts to reach our vaulted goal of 500 thousand posts.

We'll get there someday...someday soon. I'd bet we'll be there by the time Blade rolls around.

We are even closer since Randy posted the numbers!

Ok we are just shy of 20 hours away from the New Year being one week old. We have already offered up some impressive numbers, numbers that will only grow by leaps and bounds as Dan continues to bring us things that we want.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft seciton has remained the same at 19,588 posts. On the surface is sounds depressing, but hey, it's winter. Not that many folks are out in the wild at this time of the year. It'll pick up, just you hide and watch!

The Knives side is now at 440,919 up from 440,778 yesterday morning. That gives us an increase of 143 posts.

The ZDC page count for the default page users is now at 936 which is up from 932 from yesterday for a 4 page increase. Not to bad for a cold dreary winter day.

The TOTAL forum post count yesterday had 464,774 posts. Today it is at 464,917 for an increase of 143 total posts.

Ok using these LARGER numbers tells us that we have 35,083 to go before reaching out FIRST goal of 500,000 posts!

Well it's now been 24 hours an 43 minutes since the last update and Yes Margaret, there IS something to report. HIGHER NUMBERS! Hehe, Let's Giddy Up GO (know that one TOM?)

Ok the Outdoors and Fieldcraft was setting at 19,588 for a few days. Well We've had some posting done. It now sets at 19,590 posts for a two post increase!

The Knives forum side has likewise witnessed an increase. It was just yesterday morning that it was setting at 440,919 posts and today it has now go into a higher range. The new count is at 441,016 for a 97 post increase.

The ZDC page count (for us normal folks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ) is at 937 up from 936 just yesterday morning. That yields a 1 page increase for for those of you that failed math (Hey Politically correct don't live here)!

The TOTAL ScrapYard knife site post count is now setting at 465,014. Yup we have once again gone into a high thousand count. Why it seems like it was only yesterday that we were at 464,917 posts! That gives us a forum post count increase of Can you guess (see above for a clue) 97 POSTS!

That means we now have 34,986 posts to go for 500,000. You know it seems like just yesterday that we needed OVER 35 thousand.

97 posts? Randy, you're slipping. You usually talk to yourself at least that much a night! Do we need to sent the guys with the funny white jackets to come see you?

If you did that, I wouldn't get ANY posting done, I'd be to busy RUNNING!

Today, January 8th 2011 brings us ever higher numbers.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft half of the site has gotten to 19,596 up 6 posts. See I told you we'd get some posts added to that side, to just be patient.

Ok the Knives forum side is now at 441,175 posts up from 441,016 for a net increase of 59 posts.

The ZDC page count is now at 942 pages up from 936 for us normal <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> default users. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The TOTAL website post count is now resting comfortably at 465,179 posts up from 465,014 yesterday morning for a 65 post increase! Kind of slow but as we have pointed out many times, it IS an increase and any growth is good!

Ok so we are now in 2011, the home stretch and our goal numbers are: 35,821 posts to go for the vaunted Half a Million Milestone!

Ok folks here it is. To give Dan something back for all he has given us this is the deal.

WE NEED TO AVERAGE 6964.2 POSTS EACH MONTH, JAN-MAY so Dan CAN have Bragging rights at Blade in June! What ya say Dawgs?

Alright, another day another update!

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is now at 19,604 posts, which indicates an 8 post increase!

The Knifes Forum side (which includes everyones favorite, the ZDC) is now at 441,324 posts for a 149 post increase. Starting to look better.

The ZDC page count is now at 948 pages, just 52 pages away from the magic 1000 mark. Looking good here as well.

Ok, the TOTAL website post count is at 465,336 counting this one. This has given us an increase of 157 posts over Saturday morning. Counting todays increase we now need 34,664 posts or 6932.8 posts per month to reach 500,000 before blade 2011.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft thread has expanded quite a bit over the last three days! When we had the last update Sunday morning the thread was at 19,604 and now it's at 19,644, for a 40 post increase! WOW. Thanks to Arch and Kenken and all the others that brought GOOD discussion to the site. Discussion that was both informative AND civil! WAY TO GO GUYS!

The Knives Forum side of the site is now at 441,642, up 316 from Sunday morning! Now THAT'S The way to post!

The Zombie Death Chat is now gone from 948 pages all the way to 954. Now that gives us a page increase of 6 pages.

Ok the TOTAL post count is now at 465,696 posts. This is up from 465,336 posts Sunday morning for an increase of 360 posts!

GREAT! Ok now using these new and higher numbers we now need 34,304 posts for the bragging rights position of acheiving FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND POSTS!

AND Dan has stated that we are going to have a GREAT 2011. To me that means there is going to be a plethora of knife releases (you like that word, plethora. Well Look it up!). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The Knives Forum side is now up to 441,804 posts which is up from 441,642 posts approximately 24 hours ago.

The TOTAL website post count is now at 465,874 posts up from 465,696 yesterday morning for an increase of 178 posts.

Ok using these new numbers that gives a total of 34,126 posts needed to reach the Half a million goal. We're getting there Dan, just give us a chance. Ok, we have just attained another red letter day in the Yard. Read on to find out why.

Ok on this the 14th day of January 2011 we passed the 466,000 post barrier. Yes knife fans, we are now at 466,002 posts for a total post increase of 128 posts from yesterdays 456,874.

Ok using todays high post count that means we now have 33,998 posts to go for FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND posts.

The Knives Forum side is now up to 442,004! Yup, we've busted into the 442K rung of the ladder and climbing, although it has been a bit slow as of late, thin air and all that don't ya know. It is up from 441,932 yesterday morning.

Ok, now for the proof that's in the pudding.

The TOTAL site post count is at 466,074 which is up 71 posts from yesterday. Lot a heavy posting day, but at least we again made an advance toward our goal.

Ok, with that thought in mind here are todays numbers.

If we subtract todays total post count from out goal that leaves us with 33,926 more posts to go for 500,000 posts. Add one to that number and we will have PASSED the goal!

WOW! Thought it was going to be a slow night then Sumo came on for a while then Tom sat down to the Social club table then Jared came on board and we had a nice discusion about the defense handgun, specifically single action 45 types. 9mm and 45acp.

Ok Here is the numbers.

The Knives forum side is now at 442,196 posts and still climbing as I type this.

The ZDC page count is now up to 976 pages from from 968 yesterday morning.

The TOTAL site page count after our early morning rally is now at 466,273 up from 466,074 yesterday morning for a 199 post increase! GOOD DAY!

Ok that means that we now need 33,727 posts until we get to 500K. At this rate it won't be long until we will have LESS than 33K to go.

The ZDC Page count for the default forum setting users is now at page 991 up from 976 Sunday morning, for a 15 page increase which averages out to 5 pages a day! Not to awful bad.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft half of the website is now at 19,683 up from 19,667 Sunday morning. That gives us a 16 post increase, which is actually pretty good for this time of the year.

The Knives forum side is at 442,611 which is up from 442,196 Sunday morning and that gives us an increase of 415 posts! Man, that's more than 100 posts per day!

Ok, now for the guts for this post. The TOTAL website post count is now setting at 466,704 which is up from 466,273 Sunday morning. That difference gives us a post count increase of 431 posts! That gives us a average post count of 143.66.... increase PER DAY! GOOD DEAL!

Ok using these new numbers (drum roll please).......we now need 33,296 posts to go to get to 500 Thousand posts! 33,297 to go one over!

now the dilemma, does Dan get 500,000 or 500,001? I say 01 because the Yard is always looking forward

Ok, Just so Todd will quiet down <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />, I went past 20 Thousand posts Wednesday morning. Thanks to the help of lazi, Jared and Todd. Thank you to EVERYONE here, were it not for all of you I would not have anything to talk about and would just be blubbering and drooling all over myself, watching the White Coats walk by! The Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is now at 19,686, up a 3 count from yesterday morning.

The Knives Forum side is now at 442,955 for an increase of 341 posts! NOW we're cooking with gas!

The ZDC page count for us normal, ok for YOU normal folks is at 1002, WE BROKE THE 1K PAGE BARRIER!

The really important number is 467,052, yes we have not gotten into the 467K area, ever closer to our goal. So using these ever higher numbers that means we now only need 32,948 more posts to go. Yup, we're gettin there.

The Knives Forum side is now at 443,078 which is up 123 posts! Wow again, we have NOW gotten into the 443K realm for the Knives forum side! Let's celebrate Dan! (how about a new release)?

The default page count on the ZDC is now up to 1005 pages of help, information and fun! Come join in!

Ok, here is the numbers we all are watching in our march toward 500 Thousand.

The TOTAL website post count has now gotten all the way up to 467,224, up 171 posts from about this time yesterday morning.

Ok, if we subtract this number from our goal we come up with 32,776. This is ONE number we LIKE to see get smaller!

OK the Knife Specs thread has been updated to add the Rodent Solution. The Tank Buster and the Taz Rat are already there. Y'all check it over and If there is anything missing, PM or email me and I will get it added. AND if you have any input on the missing information (weight, length etc..) let me know as well.

The Knife Forum side is up to 443,727 from 443,373 for an increase of 354 posts! GOOD POSTING FOLKS!

The ZDC page count for us default forum values folks is now up to 1028 pages which is up 14 pages from just yesterday morning! WOW!

Ok, the Total post count for the entire forum is at 467,874 which is up 355 posts from yesterday morning. Man, could you imagine how tall the stack of post it notes would be for that much input!


Well if we take 467,874(our new high post count) from our goal, then that means we have 32,126 more posts to get. It just keeps getting smaller every day! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

The Knives forum section is now at 444,093, yes we have not gotten into the 444K range of posts.

The ZDC page count is now at 1033 which is up from 1028 Sunday morning.

And the TOTAL site post count is now at 468,261, yes, we HAVE gotten into the 468K range now. 500K is getting closer all the time!

Ok, Now this means that we now have 31,739 posts to go before reaching our goal! Not to bad of a reduction from Sunday.

The TOTAL ScrapYard forum is now at 468,519 posts. This is a 645 post increase over Wednesday's count.

So, using this new higher count that means we have 31,481 more posts to go. We keep getting closer all the time.

Ok Since our last update on the 28th we of course have had some changes. Changes CAN be good, and I think you will agree these are.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is now at 19,793 posts, up a whoppin 13 posts from just two days ago! Not bad actually for a dreary winter.

The Knife Forum side is now at 444,464 posts! Man wouldn't that have been choice to have had all 4's instead of one lousy 6! But the numbers are the numbers. And this one is 139 more than Friday.

The ZDC page count has likewise increased. It went from 1039 on Friday to 1043 This morning for a total increase of 4 pages. But you can get a lot of information on 4 pages ya know.

Ok, now for the BIG numbers. ON Friday the Total post count was setting at 468,519 and today it is at a grand total of 468,671 an increase of 152 posts in two days. Hey, again not to bad considering the time of year.

Ok, NOW that means we have to have 31,329 posts to go for a half of a million posts to the site. Man, half a million. That's a lot!

Here is why I like reading the updates, because it keeps me in the know.

Ok I have been kinda in and out on here for the last week and about a half. First on vacation then with Patty being in the hospital a day and a half. I am off work one more night then it's back to the grind for 2 nights then 2 day break again. I've already done the WORD update and now I am trying to get this one back on track. So My friends, without further adeu, Awwwwwway we go!

Ok The Outdoors and fieldcraft half of the site is now at 19,803 posts, up from 19,793 on the 30th of January. That has given us an increase of 10 posts. Again that's about normal for this time of the year.

The Knives Forum side of the house has now gone up to 445,085 posts for an increase of 620 posts! That's over 100 posts per day average! Maybe I need to go MFTS (missing from the site) more often! You guys ROCK!

The ZDC page count was standing at 1043 the morning of the 30th and now is all the way up to page 1065 for a 21 page increase! That's 5.something pages a day! WAY TO POST!!!

Ok, with this post the TOTAL website count is at 469,301 posts. This is up a total of 628 posts from Sunday. That gives us a 125.something post per day average! LOOKIN GOOD GANG!

The Knives forum side is now at 445,889 up from 445,896 Thursdday.

The ZDC page count is now up to 1100 pages up from 1065 on Thursday.

And the TOTAL post count is now at 470,113, Yes I said 470 thousand arena! It is up from 469,301 Thursday.

Ok now that we have grown by leaps and bounds here is the GOAL report.

To reach our goal of one half million posts, we now need 29,887 posts. Wow!

Well it has been a good/bad week for sure. Hey, blades are running overth from OH so we can be happy about that.

Gotta give the Busse boys credit, they can turn out the steel! We just wish Dan had more time at the presses!

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft thread was increased by 12 additional posts since Sunday for a new high of 19,829 posts.

The Knives Forum side of the site went from 446,168 up to 446,808 for todays report. This gives us an increase of 640 posts! WOW, that's more than 213 posts a day!

The ZDC page count was at 1100 pages on Sunday morning and this morning it is now at 1137 for a 37 page increase over three days, JUST over an average of 12 pages per day!

Ok now for the Money portion of this thread.

The TOTAL Website post count is now up to 471,052 up from 470,400 on Sunday. That is a whopping 652 posts! Now THAT is an increase of just barely over 217 posts per day! Now that's how it's done, but we CAN do better.

Ok, that now leaves us with needing 28,948 posts to get to the Half of a Million posts that we want to give Dan so he can make the Historic announcment at Blade in June!

The Knives Forum side is now at 447,174 posts which is an increase of 366 posts!

The ZDC page count now has gone to 1153 which is up from 1137 yesterday morning for a 16 page increase. Now That is some nice posting folks!

Ok the TOTAL form post count is now up to 471,418 posts which is up from 471,052 posts yesterday which gives us a 366 post increase over yesterday morning. OUTSTANDING!

To reach our goal of Five Hundred Thousand posts By Blade in June 2011 we need 28,582 posts. The numbers keep getting smaller all the time, but will the continue at a fast enought pace so we can give Dan a BIG present for Blade?

Ok, I never got around to doing yesterdays updates from home like I promised. I apologize to everyone that reads this thread. But something came up that HAD to be done by us and unfortunately You, members of the loyal pack had to pay the penalty.

Ok, On Thursday morning the Outdoors and Fieldcraft thread was at 19,829 and on this Saturday morning it is at 19,833 for a 4 post increase. DEL351's pen thread is a good one if you want to see some beautiful writting instruments.

The Knives Forum side of the site was at 447,174 Thursday morning and has now climbed to 447,553 for a 379 post increase, or 189.5 posts per day! Now THAT is an increase we like to see!

The Zombie Death Chat, also called the Late Night Social Club, has gone from a page count of 1153 to 1165 for 12 pages of all kinds of goodness.

The TOTAL forum post count was resting at 471,418 Two days ago. Today, a clear and crisp Saturday morning brings us a post count of 471,802 posts. That, my friends is an increase of 384 posts. THAT is an average of 192 posts per day. That half a million goal is getting closer every day!

Ok continuing on with the above sentence's train of thought we NOW have only 28,198 posts to go and we have 4 months to get there. That means that by roughly the middle of June 2011 we need to get 7049.5 posts PER MONTH or an AVERAGE of 234.983 posts PER DAY.

Can we make it, SURE! Will it be easy, NOPE! But then many lofty and worthy goals are not easy to attain. That is what makes success smell and taste so sweet!

Ok, on this first FULL day of a new beginning for Egypt let us get on with this progress report for OUR continued march toward a lofty goal.

Just yesterday morning our own Outdoors and Fieldcraft portion of the site was at 19,833 posts. This morning we are at 19,838 for a 5 post increase. Not all that much, but it is at least an increase over yesterday.

The Knives Forum portion was at 447,553 and it is now up to 447,673 for 120 additional posts. Not as good as we have had in the past, but still a fairly good day in the Yard.

The ZDC page count has gone from 1165 to 1170 for a 5 page increase. We HAVE had better but still a respectable increase.

The TOTAL ScrapYard website post count was at 471,802 posts and today we find ourselves at 471,926 for a total post count increase of 124 posts for the last 25 and a half hours or 4.86 posts per hour. Which one do YOU like the sound of better?

Ok, we now, on this the 13th day of February 2011 need 28,074 posts before we can claim the 500 Thousand post prize and Proudly present it into the hands of the man that has brought us so much goodness in his never ending quest for the PERFECT marriage of the Vaulted "Price to performance ratio"!

The Knives Forum section of the site is now at 448,339 posts which is up from 447,673 for a post increase of 666 posts! Ah crap! Why did I have to figure that out?

The ZDC page count went from 1170 all the way to 1196 for 26 pages of DEATH CHAT! That's just a bit over an average of 8 pages a day!

Ok now for the biggie post count. The TOTAL site page count is now at 472,632 posts which us up from Sunday mornings post count of 471,926. This gives us a total post increase of 706 posts! WOW, that is OVER 235 posts per day! Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!

Wow, what a night! For those of you who think all the howling you heard this morning was because of the moon would be wrong. That was the sound of the Yard giving birth to the FIRST Junk Yard Dog for 2011, our own Ireash JYD #124!

Yes, in the early morning hours in a 23 page run Private Klink, rth548 myketheknife and myself were witness to this most historic of occassions. Ireash, JYD #124 was given the place of honor on the Big Dogs Couch this day. The Yard is his for the celebration and congratulations that will be forthcoming this day. The birth was a long and tireing process but was successful and the Pack has once again grown and has become ever stronger with another voice to add to the challenge, the STATEMENT that WE will be NUMBER 1! Long live Junk Yard Dog Ireash, Long live the Yard!

Wow, birth is a beautiful thing, the camera was rolling and the entire birthing process was recorded for the pleasure of all the dogs. Alas in the last few seconds of congratulations the film canister broke open and the entire historic event was exposed to light and lost. So mear words must be sufficent to present to you this most joyous of events.

Ok, now on to more mundane things.

The outdoors and fieldcraft side is now at 19,892 posts, up from 19,889 for an increase of 3 posts.

The Knives Forum side of the site has grown by 544 posts for a new all time high post count of 449,186!

The ZDC page count was stagnant at 1204 pages yesterday morning and this morning, the count is 1227 pages for a page count increase of 23 pages!

The TOTAL post count this morning is now resting at 473,494 posts after that 23 page rally for a JYD run! This in an increase of 546 posts over yesterday!

Ok with this new MUCH larger count we now have 26,506 posts to go for the rapidly approaching goal of 500,000 posts!

Ok, another day in the Yard, another update.

Outdoors and fieldcrat seciton was only increased by one post yesterday, for a new high of 19,894 posts. BUT there is sure a lot of good information there! You need to check it out.

The Knives Forum side grew a little bit more yesterday. The new high for this seciton of the site is now at 449,317 posts which was an increase over yesterday of 131 posts.

The ZDC PAGE count is now up to 1231 pages which is up 4 pages over this Saturday morning.

The TOTAL ScrapYard post count is now at 473,627. Now this is an increase of 133 posts over yesterday's high.

Ok, on the 20th of February our Outdoors and fieldcraft thread was at 19,894. Today it is at 19,933 for an increase of 49 posts! Wow, that's like 12.5 posts per day average! Man that section of the site has been getting some attention lately, GREAT because it is a really good section full of really good facts and information.

The Knives Forum side of the site has REALLY seen some action, and here are the numbers to prove it.

On Sunday morning this half of the forum had 449,317 posts and today it is all the way up to 449,928 for an increase of 611 posts! That averages out to 152.74 posts per day! WAY TO GO GUYS!

Likewise the ZDC page count has gone from 1231 pages Sunday morning up to 1244 today for a 13 page increase or 3.25 pages per day.

Ok We are rapidly approaching the moment of truth. On Sunday morning, the 20th of February 2011 our post count was 473,627. Today 4 days later, the 24th the TOTAL website post count is 474,303 posts for an increase of 676 posts! Now THAT averages out to 169 posts per day.

Ok, to reach our 500 thousand goal now as of this post we need 25,697 posts! Are we gonna make the 500K mark by Blade! Only time and our posting will tell!

The Ourdoors an Fieldcraft section is now at 19,945 posts for a 12 post increase. Another positive increase, Getter goin guys!

The Knives Fourm section On Thursday about 26 and a half hours ago was at 449,928 posts and this morning it is at 450,237 for an increase of 309 posts. Really good guys.

The ZDC page count has gone from 1244 up to 1251 for a 7 page increase.

The TOTAL website post count was at a restless 474,303 posts yesterday morning, in anticipation of the Cupidganzaa..... And restless we were. We I am sure would have had a lot more posts, but we were busy doing the F5 and quickly shuffling from site to site in anticiiiiiiiiipation! So this morning our total count is 474,625 for a whopping increase of 323 posts! Now we're posting!

Ok that means we NOW need 25,375. What a long way we have came, but we can't slack up now, we are in the home stretch and have got pull out all the stops!

The Outdoors and fieldcraft thread did pretty good these last 24 hours. It went from a low of 19947 to today's high of 19962 for a 15 post increase. pretty good increase for that section of the site, at least until better weather gets here.

The Knives forum side of the site was setting at 450,340 yesterday morning and now it is all the way up to 450,612 for a 272 post increase. Another pretty good day in the yard.

The ZDC page count is now 1260, up from 1253 yesterday for a 7 page increase. Not a bad day there either.

The TOTAL website post count is now at 475,017, up from 474,729 Saturday morning. And yes boys and girls we have once again gone up another rung of the ladder to the goal. We showed a total post count increase of 288 from yesterday. Wow, ALMOST a 300 post day.

Ok in order to reach our 500,000 post goal in the 102 days before Blade 2011 we need 24,983 posts, or an AVERAGE of 244.93 posts per day. WE CAN give Dan the bragging rights, but it won't be easy. So Jump on line and post post post!

First and foremost the Yard once again gave birth. JYD #125, the second to be born in 2011 was ADAMLAU!. At 0436 East coast time this newest JYD breathed his first breath of the Ohio Swamp and ruled it as good. He now joins the ranks of those who have had their own day on the "big dogs couch". So everyone jump on the thread and welcome this newest Dawg to the pack!

When we last left you on the 27th of Feb the Outdoors and Fieldcraft seciton of the site was at 19,962. Today, the second day of March it is at 19,995! that is a 33 post increase. That is a 11 post per day average! SMOKIN!!!!!!

The Knives forum side of the site has grown a little as well over the last three days. On Sunday morning it was at 450,612 posts and this morning we find ourselves at 451,456! That, my friends is an increase of 843 posts!

The TOTAL website post count is now all the way up to 476,096 posts, yes another rung up the ladder, climbing ever higher. This is up from 475,894 just yesterday morning for an increase of 202 posts. Another pretty good day in the Yard! But if we could get at least ONE JYD run a week, HO BOY would the numbers run up there quick.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft side has gone from 20,025 on Sunday morning all the way to 20,056 this morning for an increase of 31 posts! Yeah YARD!

The Knives forum side of the site, the main posting place has gone from 452,282 up to 452,637 for an increase of 355 posts! Now that's not a bad increase! It was over three days, but hey, that's still 118.333.... posts per day!

The ZDC page count has now gone from 1308 Sunday morning all the way to 1313 today for a 5 page increase.

The TOTAL post count for the site is now 477,143, up from 476,756 for a total website increase of 387 posts, which gives us an average of 129 posts PER DAY!

Ok, here is the proof in the pudding. We now need 22,857 posts to reach our 500,000 post goal and we NOW have (counting today)93 days so we need an AVERAGE of 245.7 posts per day.

Sound impossible? Not really if we get a few JYD runs going.

For some reason the last 24 hours seem like a whirlwind day to me, and I don't know why. So on to what you DO want to hear about.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft half of the site was at 20,056 posts and now it is at 20,060 for just a 4 post increase, but about normal for now. It WILL get cranked up once the weather in the PNW, the Rockies and Eastern coast gets warmed up enough.

The Knives Forum half of the site was at 452,637 and now is all the way up to 452,840 for an increase of 203 posts. Not to bad for 24 hours!

The ZDC page count is now at 1321 pages up from 1313 Wednesday morning for an 8 page increase. Again, not to bad a day.

The TOTAL website post count is now at 477,551 up from 477,143 yesterday morning. That, my friends yields a 208 post increase for 24 hours! Now THAT'S a good day!

Ok with 92 days left before blades starts, 93 days IF you count the 10th of June we have 22,649 posts to go. That means if we use 92 days as our goal we have to AVERAGE 246.18 posts per day and if we use 93 days as the goal we need to average 243.53 posts per day.

That 500,000 keeps getting closer, but will it get get here IN TIME! That is the big question.

This morning the Outdoors and Fieldcraft section of the site is now at 20,494 posts, up from 20,404 Sunday morning. That gives us a 90 POST INCREASE! Wow, this section sure got a major boost over the first part of the week.

The Knives Forum side of the house has also gotten a boost. Sunday morning it was at 455,206 posts and now this morning it is up to 455,775 for a post count increase of 569 posts! Wow, THIS is a whopping increase, even for THIS section of the site!

The outdoors and fieldcraft section had a more typical day as of late. It went from 20,528 to 20,540 for a 12 post increase. Not bad for this section.

The Knives Forum section of course contains the ZDC, the most popular thread on the site, along with the others. Yesterday morning the knives forum had 456,051 posts and today it is up to 456,405 for an increase of 354 posts! We keep this up we WILL get to 500 K before blade!

The ZDC page count yesterday was 1422 and today it is 1434 for 12 page increase, the same increase as the outdoors and fieldcraft section.

Ok the TOTAL, Website post count has gone from 481,040 posts yesterday morning all the way up to 481,407 today for an increase of 367 posts!

Ok SUMO, that means we now have 18,593 posts to go for our 500 thousand post goal. And with that we need to average 265.61 posts per day for the next 70 days counting today but NOT counting the 10th of June.

Ok, for those of you who are keeping up with this that means that now on our relentless march toward 500,000 posts we still need 18,425 posts and we have 69 days to get it done (ok 70 IF you want to count the 10th of June).

So for all the mathematicians out there we need to average 267.02 posts per day, or if we use the 70 day mark we need to average 263.21 posts per day.

Ok, for all you Statistic searchers, here is the list for today!

On Saturday the Outdoors and Fieldcraft section was at 20,690 posts and now 4 days later it is at 20,740 for a post increase of 50! That is ALMOST 13 posts PER DAY! Man, that is smoking for this side of the site.

The Knives Forum side was setting at 458,187 posts Saturday and now it is up to 458,814 for an increase of 627 posts over the last 4 days.

The ZDC page count was at 1478 and now is up to 1498 for a 20 page increase or put another way, a 5 page a day average! Not to shabby!

Ok as the saying goes "The proof is in the pudding" so here is the TOTAL forum post counts. Saturday the entire site was 483,347 posts and now just 4 days later it is up to 484,025 posts for an average of 169.5 posts per day! Pretty good if you ask me, but we need to do better.

Right now we still need 15,975 posts to reach the 500 Thousand post goal. IF we want to do this BEFORE blade '11 that means we have to average 275.43 posts per day for the next 58 days to get there.

the Outdoors and Fieldcraft section was at 20,740 posts yesterday morning and this morning that side is at 20,765 for a 25 post increase! Man that side has been rockin lately, lets keep it up!

The Knives Forum side was at 458,187 and now it is at 459,000 posts for a increase of 186 posts.

Ok the ZDC page count was at 1498 pages yesterday and today it is at 1505 for a 7 page increase.

Ok, the TOTAL post count for the entire site is now at 484,235 posts up from 484,025 yesterday morning for an increase of 210 posts.

Ok, that means that with 57 days to go we need to get 15,767 posts or an average of 276.61 posts per day to have bragging rights at Blade 2011 this June 10th. GO DOGS GO!!!!!

The ZDC was resting, or considering our weather here the last few days, FLOATING at 1546 pages and is now bobbing on top of the choppy waves at 1557 pages for an increase of 11 pages.

Yesterday morning the TOTAL post count was at 485,672 posts. And now as we strive and struggle up stream it has gotten all the way to 486,015 for an increase of 341 posts following an early morning run by Jared, Tom, Todd and yours truely. As the water rises, so does our post count. But the question remains, in our struggle against the current toward the 500,000 goal when will this epic event actually arrive? Considering that we now need 13,985 posts and have 47 days to get them we need to average 297.55 posts for each 24 hour period, what we call one day.

We WILL get there, but will it actually happen before Blade 2011?

Another Wednesday another update to the growing saga of The Scrapyard march to Half of a Million Posts!

Ok the Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is now at 20,914 posts up from 20,869 which gives us a 45 post increase since Sunday morning.

The Knives forum is now all the way up to 461,527 posts which is up from 460,669 three days ago. This new count gives us an 856 post increase! WOW!

The ZDC page count is now at 1582 up from 1557 for an overall increase of 25 pages

The overall TOTAL website post count has now gone up to an astronomical high of 486,920 posts up from 486,015 Sunday morning. That gives us a 903 post increase. NOW YOU'RE BARKING!!!!

Ok fellow four leggers, that means we only need 13,080 more posts to go for the 500,000 goal. OR 297.31 posts per day for the next 44 days in order to reach this most lofty goal.

Well I can't hardly believe these numbers are correct but here they are anyway. I know You guys did a LOT of posting yesterday, so hang on tight for the numbers ride!

The outdoors and fieldcraft thread is now at 20,950 posts up from yesterdays 20,921 for a 29 post increase.

The Knives forum side ballooned to 463,101 posts up from yesterdays high of 461,922 for an increase of 1179 posts! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

The ZDC page count was at 1592 and is now all the way up to 1643 pages! This is an increase of 51 pages!!! Man you guys were burning up the internet yesterday evening!

Ok, now for the REALLY big numbers. Yesterday morning the TOTAL post count was at 486,322. Today it is now 488,532 posts for an Increase of 2210 posts! That just doesn't seem possible, but I double checked everything, and 51 pages plus almost 30 posts in the outdoors side will add up to them according to Mr. calculator.

Wow, One day and how the World has changed!

The most historic, world wide news is that the American President announced last night the Osama bin Ladin had been killed by a group of the United. States Military! We were assured that it was in fact him. Now at least one more head of the terrorist Hydra has been removed. Perhaps this one will actually make a larger impact than those that have gone before him.

Ok, on with our local information.

Yesterday morning our outdoors and fieldcraft section was at 20,984 posts. This morning we find it at 21,007 for 23 post increase.

Sunday Morning the Knives forum section was at 464,841 posts and this morning it is at 466,435 posts for an increase of 1596 posts Wow, another major posting day!

The ZDC page count was at 1709 roughly 24 hours ago and is now up to 1776 for a 67 page increase. Now remember,this is for just about 26 hours!

The TOTAL website post count just over 24 hours ago was 490,306 posts and now it is at a whopping 491,926 posts for an increase of 1620 posts. Holy Cowabunga Dudes!

Ok, as we march ever forward toward our half a million post goal we only need 8,074 more posts or an average of 212 posts per day. Oh man, it's looking more doable every day!

Wow we had another whirlwind day and night in the yard. Not only did we post ever higher numbers, but we had, what I believe is a ScrapYard first, TWINS born at the same time!

Yup, twin boys were born to the JYD list Tuesday May 3rd at 1:57am

Go to the Twins thread for the full picture but we now have SAR5 JYD #128 and DocSavage JYD#129 added to the list of those oh the Big Dog porch. And all this posting has netted some more impressive numbers, and here they are.

The outdoors and fieldcraft section was at 21,007 but this morning we find it at 21,039 for an increase of 32 posts.

The Knives Forum side was at 466,435 and has now climbed all the way to 467,709 giving us an increase of 1274 posts!

The ZDC has once again, outdone itself. yesterday we had a page count of 1776 and this morning that has gone up to 1833 for a 57 page increase.

Ok, the TOTAL website post count is now at 493,230 posts up from 491,926 for an increase of 1306 posts! AGAIN, an over 1000 post day!

So that just means that we now need 6768 more posts, or an average of 250.66 posts per day to reach the 500,000 post goal before Blade!

Ok Gang, we are still marching ever forward, not as much as the last few days, but still rather respectable. So without further ado, here we go!

The outdoors and fieldcraft section is up to 21,076 posts from 21039 the day before. That gives us a 37 post increase in this section. Pretty good for this side.

The knives forum has now gone up to 468,155 posts up from yesterdays 467,709 for an increase of 446 posts. Not to bad for any day!

The ZDC has gone from 1833 pages to 1849 pages of all kinds of goodness. This gives us a page increase of 16 pages, again, not to shabby for any day.

Ok, the TOTAL post count for the entire site is now 493,715 up from 493,230 yesterday for a total increase of 485 posts. As I said earlier, not the numbers we have had for the last few days, but still a respectable amount, and most importantly we are still ahead of the power curve to get to a half million by Blade.

Ok, as we approach Blade 2011 and our hoped for goal of 500,000 posts we are still 6285 posts out. Put another way we still need 174.61 posts per day for he next 36 days. WE CAN DO IT!

The outdoors and fieldcraft section is now at 21,092 posts up from 21,076 for an increase of 16.

The knives Forum section is now up to 468,495 posts up from yesterdays 468,155 for an increase of 337 posts.

The ZDC page count is now up to 1859 pages up from yesterdays 1849 pages for an increase of 10.

The TOTAL website post count is all the way up to 494,070 up from yesterdays post count of 493,715 posts. This gives us a total website increase of 352 posts. Again we are still ahead of the power curve and on track to get the 500,000 posts by Blade 2011.

Ok speaking of half a million posts, using these numbers we still need 5933 posts. Wow, this now means that we need to average 164.75 posts per day to get there. I like those numbers. Keep em coming folks. The more posts per day we have, the greater our chances to give Dan Bragging rights for the Best, the quickest growing Knife company website on the internet!

Ok Scrapyard fans Yesterday we were at 21,092 posts on the outdoors and fieldcraft section and now we are up to 21,113 for a 21 post increase.

The knives forum side was at 468,496 posts yesterday and now it's all the way up to 468,910 posts for an increase of 416 posts.

The ZDC page count was at 1859 pages just yesterday morning and this morning we find it all the way up to 1873 for a 14 page increase.

Ok, The TOTAL POST COUNT for the website was at 494,070 yesterday morning. This morning it is at 494,507 posts for an overall increase of 436 posts! Another good in the yard, and it just keeps us ahead of the curve toward our goal.

Speaking of goals, we now need 5463 posts to reach the half a million post goal!
Or to put it into a Posts per day required, we come up with 156.97 posts per day average needed to get us there. Hey, it's REALLY beginning to seem like we may get there after all! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

The outdoors and fieldcraft section of the site is now at 21,142 which is up from 21,113 for a post increase of 29.

The Knives Forum section of the site is now topped out at 469,986 up from 468,910 for an increase of 1076! Just four more days like this and we WILL have our 500,000 post site!

The ZDC page count is now at 1916 up from 1873 for a 43 page single day increase!

Ok now for the icing on the cake. Yesterday morning we were at 494,507 TOTAL WEBSITE POSTS. This morning we are a few past that.

Todays TOTAL post count is now at 495,611 posts for an increase of 1104 posts! Man, those JYD runs can rack up the posts.

Ok now that we are over 495K here is how we stack up in our quest for one half of a million posts.

In order to reach 500,000 posts we now need 4,398 posts! Man has this place been smokin the past week and a half!

Ok using these numbers that means we need to average 129.17 posts per day for the next 34 days to get there. We should be able to handle that.

Maybe if we give it our best shot and get there BEFORE Blade Dan will reciprocate and give us what we want before blade as well!

Ok, another roughly 24 hours have passed and we have again exceeded the REQUIRED post count daily average to get to 500K by blade. So without further suspense....

The outdoors and fieldcraft section has gone from 21,142 yesterday morning up to 21,169 posts this morning for an increase of 27 posts.

The Knives Forum has gone from yesterdays 469,986 posts up to 470,370. That gives us an increase of 84 posts.

The ZDC page count has gone from 1916 pages up to 1922 for a 6 page increase.

The TOTAL Website post count has gone from yesterdays 495,611 posts to todays 496,022. That gives us an increase of 411. Not as good as the last couple days but as I said, we are still ahead of the required daily average we need to get to our 500K goal.

Ok we want to get to 500,000 posts by Blade 2011, which starts on the 10th of June. That means we now need 3,978 posts, or if you are a "I want to know how many we need per day" sort of fella, we need to average 120.54 posts each day for the next 33 days.

This is starting to look REALLY doable.

120 posts, Pfft. With this new release I predict we'll hit 500k on may 29th.

Randy, it is hard to believe that we have so many new guys coming here, and it is a shame that we have had so many go on. The thing is we are a family here and we would like to see Dan get his 500,000 by Blade '11. So I will ad another post towards the goal!

Another thought is that if we need roughly 90 posts a day, we need to have at least 10 people post 10 times a day. Then if we have 20 people posting it will go faster. What if we got 50 people to post a day at 10 posts. See where the snow ball is rolling?

12 May 2011 Update

On 11 May 2011, a day that will live forever in the Annals of ScrapYard history, a small semi-custom knife manufacturer attained what some would consider impossible. In less than 5 full years of life the dedicated fans, customers, FAMILY of like minded individuals catapulted this small company’s website to an incredible FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND POSTS!

First, in 2009 Daniel Busse, our founder honored us with a patch to celebrate the Three Hundred Thousandth post. And now just a year and a half later we have exceeded the 400,000 we wished to attain and stormed the castle walls to SURPASS the Half a Million barrier.

And speaking of historic, check THIS out.

2010 Started off with Banana Clip making the fist post of the year with #358,264 on page 1381 of DC. And at 7:47pm on the ZDC thread he made the 500,000th poston page 2070. What were the odds of that happening.

This Milestone was only possible by a group of individuals coming together into a family. Dan has always treated his Customers as more, truly as a family of friends and acquaintances. Some he has grown to personally know and others only through the “Forums” that he has so graciously provided.

We might have provided the post count to attain this goal Dan, but it is only because of your never ending effort to bring forth the BEST Performance To Price Ratio in the Knife making realm. Thank you Dan for all you do for us.

AND it was not only a Red letter day for the yard, but for one of our own as well. Yes Post fans, Dan’s Pack has once again given birth. Once again there is a new addition to the Junk Yard Dog Hall of Posts. The Big Dog Porch has once again found itself needing to be expanded.

The Knives Forum side has taken quite the jump. Yesterday morning it was at 472,531 posts. This morning it is at 474,766! That gives us a post increase in this side of the site of 2236.

Ok, the ZDC page count was at 1996 yesterday morning and today it is at 2088 for a 92 page increase, 92 PAGES!

OK now for the moment everybody is waiting for, the TOTAL WEBSITE POST COUNT. Yesterday morning the count was at 498,239 posts this morning after the efforts of SO MANY dogs, this post hits and SURPASSES OUR GOAL. This post gives us a TOTAL COUNT of 500,500, That’s FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED total posts with 2261 of them just within the last 24 hours!

So to all I say WELL DONE and may we only continue to grow, both in our NEW goal, what ever it may be, and in Membership and offerings from our founder. Skunk, our challenge was met by the great dogs in the Yard. Remember when we were at 300,000 posts and we said we needed to make a 500,000 challenge. Great times!

Ok, two days after, and we're STILL doing pretty good! So on with the numbers!

The Knives forum side has now gotten up to 475,286 from yesterdays 474,766 which gives us a 520 post increase for the day.

The total Website post count is now setting at 501,027 for an overall increase of 527 over yesterdays 500,500.

Ok, now that we have hit, yes even surpassed our 500 Thousand post goal almost a month ahead of time, I don't know what goal we have now. So I guess we'll just wait for Dan's new blade to come out for our insatiable appetites.

I remember when we used to average around 150 posts per day, 250 was a good day.

The Outdoors and Fieldcraft section is now at 21,421, up from 21,410 yesterday. That gives us a 11 post increase.

The Knives Forum is now at 478,058 up from yesterdays 477,824 for an increase of 234 posts. Way down from the pace we have been maintaining this month.

The ZDC page count is now at 2191, up from 2187 yesterday for just a 4 page increase.

The TOTAL Website post count is now at 503,966 up from yesterdays 503,721 for a total increase of 245 posts. Again, our numbers are way down from this months hectic pace, but we can expect ups and downs, because it's that way in our everyday lives as well.

Ok as we plod along toward the next milestone in our quest, we need 246,034 posts by roughly the middle of June 2012 When Blade will once again come around.

So that means we need to average roughly 18,925 posts per month. A tall order, but as we all know, Dogs CAN run pretty fast when they want to!

Yesterday morning we were at 21,421 for a post count in the outdoors and fieldcraft thread and today we are at 21,425 for a 4 post increase.

The Knives Forum was at 478,058 yesterday and now we are all the way up to 478,492. That gives us an increase of 434 posts.

The ZDC page count is now at 2205 pages up from yesterdays 2191 for an increase of 14 pages.

The TOTAL post count is now at 504,408 up from 503,966 yesterday morning. This gives us an increase of 442 posts. Pretty good day, we're getting back up there with the daily post counts we need.

Ok this means in order to reach the NEXT goal of 750,000 posts we now need to have 245,594 posts or an average of 18,891 posts per MONTH to reach that goal by Blade 2012.

That means about 630 posts per day. All we have to do is throw in a couple 1k days in there and we'll get it.

Not unobtainable. Hey, a goal is a goal, so we all should get on track and make it happen.

The TOTAL ScrapYard Knife Company website page count is now up to 505,784 posts which is up from 505,584 yesterday morning. That gives us a 200 post increase for the day.

Ok, this all means that we still need 244,216 posts to get to THREE QUARTERS OF A MILLION POSTS by Blade 2012. We have 13 months to go so we need to average 18,785 posts PER MONTH or an average of 4,696.46 posts PER WEEK.

Ok on this the FIRST full day after the birth announcement of the WarDog, here is the numbers as we have made them.

The Outdoors and fieldcraft section is now at 21,528, up from 21,522 yesterday morning. That gives us a 6 post increase

The Knives Forum is now at 480,822 posts up from 480,454 yesterday. This gives us a 368 post increase.

The Zombie Death Chat thread page count is now up to 2262 pages up from yesterdays 2255 for 7 page increase.

The TOTAL website post count is now all the way up to 506,844 posts, up from yesterdays 506,469 for a post increase of 373. Just wait until everybody gets back from the long weekend, bet the count will go up then!

The Alpha Dog hisself said the the WAR DOGS ARE A SHIPPING on the last day of May! Many of us got our notice yesterday and will hopefully get our new toys by the weekend. There is going to be a lot of Naked steel floating around for a while, that's for sure!

The outdoors and fieldcraft section is now up to 2,570 posts, up from 21,565 yesterday for a 5 post increase.

You know, I just thought about something. Last year when the economy was still in freefall we would have a hard time getting to 200 posts in a day, now, even if it's not a full recovery, the economy is starting to push it's way back up and under 300 is "not the best" (for all you hardheads like me that means it was kinda bad).

The posting seems to at times go in cycles. Depends how many are on and how silly or informative the posts are. AND new releases (or rumors of them) help as well.

Today the Knives Forum side of the board is at 483,916. This is up from 482,975 Sunday morning. This gives us an increase of 941 posts. Wow, that is an average of over 310 posts a day!

The ZDC page count is now up to 2342 pages, up from Sunday mornings 2313 for an increase of 29 pages. Once again, so close to an average of 10 pages per day we might as well call it that.

Ok the TOTAL website post count is not at 510,057 posts up from Sunday mornings 509,079. This gives us a three day increase of 978 posts and that is an average of over 320 posts per day. Looking a lot better.

Blade will be here officially in 2 more days and at this rate we MIGHT be able to give Dan, if we post really hard, a 511 Thousand Plus boasting right for his small fledgling companies website.

Ok if we remove 510,057 posts from the next goal of 750K we need to put up 239,943 posts by Blade 2012, sometime in June of next year.

The GRANT TOTAL POST count is now up to 512,105, Yup we have gotten ourselves into the 512K range now and are ever climbing! Anyway, we are up from 511,885 posts yesterday morning for a post count increase of 220 posts posts. Not to awful bad, almost an average of 10 posts per hour.

Subtracting this new higher number from the 3/4 Mil goal we still need to get 237,895 posts and about 51 weeks to get there.
