To be honest with you i really like it.
You can put it on and take it off super quik, adjust it to go over or under clothing depending on weather or the mission, use it as a shoulder sling, it gives me configuration options,and the ability too add other gear if needed.
In a nutshell, its very versatile.

This dog bites!

Its nearly perfect in my book, with the only downside being the Choil that has cut my index finger twice already. It came with the best factory edge I've ever received from a Busse or kin. Thanks Mike!

I'm really liking this little guy. It's smaller than I imagined, but not in a bad way at all. I think it will be seeing a lot of use! Might need a Choil mod first though.

The Rucki is in! And I have a new favorite handle color, Red/Black G10. So now I guess I'll need to find a matching smaller blade. The balance is sweet and very fast in hand. A little less reach than the Scrapizashi but should be easier to carry on a pack.

I'll tell you, I'm in bushcraft heaven. I've barely been able to get this summer, the kids just kept getting sick week after week- but I went out for a little today. These three blades are just sooooo good...three very different takes on a bush knife. Dan just smoked the War Dog- it's as good as the customs. The group shot stinks, but a few of these are good for me!

On the plus side, zombies don't care what color your Rucki is, and my Rucki will be here today instead of 4-6 weeks from Friday. Still, those handles are truly SWEET! Nice score!

When I first received this knife I was shocked at its size, weight and thickness of the blade.

I did however carry the knife (and still am) for the December holidays.

The reason why I carry a neck knife is due to its versatility and it can take more abuse then a folding knife. I do work in remote areas so I do consider the ability to carry a fixed blade as a luxury and a must have. One of the things I use my fixed blades for if I do not have an axe with me (rarely) is bushcraft. Rule of thumb is of course dont try and split a 10foot log with a 3inch blade. Use your common sense.

I also used the knife in the kitchen and this is where I got the biggest surprise. This thing cuts really well for its short thick blade (sorry, no pictures of that).

The only draw back was the handle. Due to its thinness it became uncomfortable in long periods of carving. This was resolved by wrapping some 550 paracord around the handle and I continued to carve for another 40 minutes without any hotspots. A great knife IMO, but is heavy for some and when you start to carry it. Once you get use to it you dont even notice it.

Saben Silver Steel is bright finished rod produced from hot rolled bar by means of centreless grinding.
The high carbon content of this steel means that it can be hardened to give considerable wear resistance and the chromium content adds to the strength and hardenability
As supplied however, the steel is machinable owing to the annealing treatment given to it prior to grinding.
Saben silver steel is spherodise annealed for best machinability, the annealed hardness being in the region of 270 Brinell (Rockwell C27). On hardening and tempering a hardness of up to Rockwell C64 can be obtained. Being in the spherodised condition, the material offers maximum response to hardening and the chromium content ensures deep hardening.


Applications

Saben silver steel finds innumerable uses in the tool room and in general engineering. The user can select a size suitable for his purpose, thereby reducing or eliminating the need for grinding or machining the finished part.



Applications include screwdrivers, punches, shafts,
axles, pinions, pins, die posts, instrument parts, model parts, taps and drills for mild steel, engravers tools, and fine cutters.

Hardening

It is preferable to heat the tools in a controlled atmosphere. If this is not possible, pack hardening is recommended. A reducing atmosphere is desirable.

Heat to 770 / 780ºC and when thoroughly soaked through, quench in water. (sizes up to 8 mm diameter may be oil hardened from 800 / 810ºC)
Tempering will be necessary.

Up to and including 3mm +0.00 – 0.014 mm
Over 3mm and including 6mm +0.00 – 0.018 mm

Tempering
Temper according to the purpose for which the parts are required generally between 150 / 300ºC

Tempered to 230*C so it is near HRC of 60.

Here's a new one I'm very happy with. Took me sooooo long to move on a double edged knife. This is a Koyote Knives Sgian Dubh (black knife). This makes my inner martial artist smile- this sucker is fast in hand and nasty!

A while back I started looking for a knife that I can use while working on site. Had to be light, rescue and EMT orientated. Did not want it to be bulky since the clothing I wear looks like a sleeping bag and a giant orange. It also needed to be opened and closed with gloves. So with winter coming..........I ended up ordering the Atlantic Salt.

I am just a beginner in knife with only about 2 years of experience. Last year, I found the incredible performance of Busse, Scrapyard & Swamprat knives. They are so impressing. Now I have 711, 511 and a orange Scrapivore. They are so strong & I love them so much (though the handle of 511 is a bit short to me). Hope I can have the 911 in near future, haha.

Well if things go according to the USPS delivery data, I should have something new to put up here on Monday, Tuesday (should be) at the latest. And as Paul Harvey used to say, "Stand by for more".

My second ever kydex sheath, I have to sand a bit more off the edge toward the bottom I think, but overall I'm happy with how it turned out, good retention.

I just put in an order for some new SYKCO knives so it's going to be awhile before I have anything new to post up from the yard. I did get my 511 Azwelke sheath this week tho so I had a chance to get out today and get some pics. Al makes a great sheath and it fits my 511 like a glove and no rattles or scratching the blade it's great. The heat has finally given us a break here in IL and it's only 80 today. Went on a lil road trip to get out of the house on my only day off. We've been working 6 days a week so haven't gotten out much all summer besides the heat factor. I live by the Mighty Mississippi so I took a pic since it was in the background of the park I stopped at...

There's a barge in the background pic tried to get a close up but I was miles away so this is the closest I could get. Some barges aren't able to travel the river this year cuz of the drought and they're too heavy and will bottom out...

There was a small stone tower at the park so I thought it would make some good shots of my 511 and new sheath...

this kit is normally in my jeep. It's not done yet,I want to get some 2mil plastic bags in different sizes for the contents. I also need some hemostatic dressings (quickclot or the like) and a Sam splint.

just make sure you get the quickclot Sponges, NOT the loose granules.

Yeah I will get sponges, I have heard about the other stuff blowing in the wind and getting places you don't want them, not good.

Not only that, but the granules must be removed individually if they are loose

Managed to do some trade-fu for a Strider.

I just ordered a Strider SNG. It's the first folder I have bought since I discovered BUSSE and Kin knives oh about 3 years ago. Lol

I think some of y'all might enjoy this <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. This is a up armored camo old school Jeremy Horton camp blood. A real fatty at like .30 13 inches overall. It's awesome and may turn into my first safe queen do to the cool finish.

This is my solution. The clip is called a Drawclip. They are pretty cheap and easy to install. The Kydex was bent by me, but you can find them that don't accommodate a weapons light. One brand is called a Zak Holster. I had to trim the switch on the light to make it fit and not get turned on when the weapon is drawn.

So is that for pocket carry then Jarhead?

It is my daily IWB carry.

The clip just keeps it from falling too far down to get a good, quick grab on the handle.

Oh darn I didnt even notice the clip on it I was to buisy looking at the kydex, [censored] and I claim to have good attention to detail.

Hey guys, idk if anyone remembers me around here. I kind of fell out of the knife world to finish up highschool like a boss(and with a psycho girlfriend). Then I got in to bodybuilding and crossfit, then I got really big in to the tactical carbine world and building my own rifles, and now I am a army sf recruit leaving in basic for april. I still remember all the regulars, and appreciate the community here greatly.



I used to think the knives were an expensive hobby, then I started spending $3000 on rifles, $1500 on body armor, and hundreds on classes haha.

(Molle webbing actually isn't that hard to do in leather.)

The 411 excels as a food prep tool.
Bananas are no match for this piece of finely heat-treated steel.

The keen edge goes right through peanut butter and the wide blade does a fantastic job smoothing out the peanut butter on the cracker.

With MOAD was a really tough job... somehow the knife was pushing the jar out of my hand and I never had enough for a slice of bread...

Yeah, the 311 is too small and the others are too big but the 411 is perfect.

411 IS a perfect smaller blade. Right up there with the Swamp Warden, Chopweiler, SOD, DF, and RMD in terms of "must have" blades...

I have always love Saddleback leather. However, due to tax etc it just is not a viable option for me. So I scrapped the idea of having a good leather briefcase for a while.

Stitching is good and most of the briefcase appears to be made from one piece of leather, only inserts where the folds are, thereby minimising the need for stitching:

I am very pleased with the briefcase thus far. I can fit the work laptop (15 inch) with ease as well as files etc. I am glad I bought this and feel it can last me a life time. We will see as time goes by.

The only thing that bugs me. When you use the sling it folds the corners of the edge on the top panel where the handle is.

Nice lookin bag Marty. It should last you a long time, just keep it oiled up so it doesn't dry out and you're good to go.

Oh and you will get used to the straps folding the top.

Jip, oiling it is key and will get a good leather care product as well. I see mine is running low.

On a side note. I am almost finished with my BUSSE Basic 4 sheath.

No, I am not a leather worker and still need to stitch and do a simple hole in order to do a basic loop with paracord if I want to do belt carry (that I seldom do). But it will get used more now while out and about going camping so I will update this in a few weeks.

Glad you guys like it. The cross is just something I do on all my sheaths.

I have to admit, the amount of friction it requires to draw the knife is a bit much, takes long to get out and re-sheath the knife so it will get modified with time. The sharp corners are also a pain. To the belt sander!

Not a new NMFSH, but a much better pic of it than I had before:

That SJTAC MO looks like it would be a good combat knife. Note I said combat knife, NOt fighter. Just like the tali-Whacker is a Combat Knife, NOT just a fighter.

Yea, it is a great size and design for Combat. Although, very thin tip on this one and very thin scales..... I'll get some pics up of the SJTAC side by side with some of my others and try to get a good spine shot of the scales and tip.

Well It's still a good looking knife.

I might take some spine shots indoors later or wait till tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong, it's still VERY functional, just thinner in the scales and tip than anything else I own.

A couple of Regulators that I have been wanting for a while. Seriously thick blades on these.

Regs are NICE blades.... that Bulldog version especially so. My first Busse Family blade was a 6.5 Reg followed by a standard model. I have my Godson a standard one last year for his 16th just so he would stop plotting my demise so he could just inherit mine...

I wanted a beater Regulator that I wouldn't feel bad about using but people keep sending me gorgeous knives. Maybe I'll have to get a Bear Grylls parang to use.

Ray, I have one of the BG Parangs. It isn't expensive and actually is a pretty good knife. I just used it the other day to clear out about a 6X6 ft section of "Brush" on my stepsons property so you could get to the 4th property stake. Worked really well, knocking down 1 inch trees easily. PLUS if ya get it "Dinged" on rocks or such, it will sharpen out fairly easily. I keep mine in the truck all the time. It's my go to beater that I'll use in rocks or around metal piles where I don't want to mess up one of my BusseKin blades.

Oh and I also carry a MilReg and a WarDog in the truck "Just in case".

Wow! I have been carrying for 18+ years and always thought discomfort came with carrying. Well not any more! The pain in my hip is gone, the constant adjusting is gone, the reminder that I have a gun on is gone! In fact that is the only complaint I have is I am not aware I am even carrying. I can't say enough about this holster! Get one at any cost!

Not only is it functional but it is absolutely beautiful. I feel kinda bad it is an Inside the waistband rig.
