Cryptids - 09/07/14 07:26 PM

As some of you know, I am a sucker for a good mystery and as such
I research and hunt sasquatch
If there is interest I will keep posting links and such on the subject

Here is my first link on bears

Cool Bill. Sasquatch lives! Or at least something strange does. I KNOW I've seen something and it WAS NOT a bear.

Randy
As you know I don't believe in sasquatch, however the subject fascinates me
I have met too many honest, intelligent people that have claimed sightings to not be fascinated
I would welcome any stories that anyone has
We do keep a data base of reports, and if people wish to remain anonymous, we do honour that

Re: Cryptids - 09/07/14 07:43 PM

As I've told you before, We saw something big and upright crossing a dirt road on top of a bald knoll. When we went back to the top there were NO prints, indicating the "Creature" for what ever reason had a stride of over 8-10 feet.

I will go to my grave KNOWING that something we could never explain passed through our vision that bright moonlit night.

I never believed in this type stuff till my buddy and I got a mountain lion picture on our trail cam by the little Miami river in southern ohio. Suprised and scared us a bit. Made me think about what may be out there.

Re: Cryptids - 09/08/14 04:05 AM

LOL, My buddy still thinks a Bigfoot got after us one night in the back country. I am pretty sure we managed to aggravate a moose in the darkness.

The only thing I have not been able to explain was something that was huge that stalked my Dad and I back in Missouri in the early 80's. DOW's of a bobcat didn't even come close to cutting it. There is a huge predator stalking the wetlands there.

Re: Cryptids - 09/09/14 07:29 PM

Here is report that a friend made on our last outing on Sunday

Since we have chosen to write off our earlier research area as a "dead zone' for the present, Thomas, Bill and I decided to scout another nearby creek valley this afternoon, one with a long history of sightings, including the famous Ruby Creek "home invasion" of 1941, and a sighting by a bear hunter as recently as 2008, which was investigated by Thomas, who found and cast a large footprint in the mud near the sighting.

We knew that there was a major power transmission line being built through this valley, and across many others in the region, as well, and wanted to see how much of the valley was affected by the construction. We were only 2.5km up the logging road when we got the first clue; 5 large trucks from the utility company came rumbling through in convoy, raising huge clouds of dust, on Sunday afternoon! The lead truck stopped, and asked us to let the others clear before proceeding, which we did, and let us know that they were the last outbound for the day. We continued on to the site of the hunter's report to Thomas, which Thomas said had changed dramatically since that time, as the electric company had filled several acres of a swampy area, to build a large capacitor station, almost on top of the incedent location.

The rest of the day was spent following the roads deeper into the valley, until we reached a high point that gave us a good view of the whole upper end of the watershed, from which we could glass a large area of clearcuts and the powerline right of way, so we stopped to stretch our legs, check the topo map, and let Thomas load his pipe for a good smoke.

We found no sign at all, and think there's too much construction and logging activity right now to devote more time here, so it's on to the next area next weekend.

Re: Cryptids - 09/10/14 05:38 AM

We had (while growing up, driving age of course) many Instances of "Seeing" something. It was always something of our own making. Except for that time, posted about earlier.

The Only Other time I experienced "Something" was during my divorce. My Ex-wife had some friends that were into "Dark things". Was it only a dream, or did it happen, When I fought a "Demon". Nothing I could do did any good until "A Voice" told me how to vanquish it. I did as instructed, and told "Her and Her friends" (in my mind) they could not stand against the power residing within me, the power of light against their power of the dark. I was never bothered again.

Randy there is certainly "dark things" most never experince it but once you do your whole perspective changes. It certainly can be scary if you don't have the light withen you. Some of the stuff I've seen is unforgettable.
Posted By: SkunkHunter

Re: Cryptids - 09/10/14 11:01 AM

Now that you mention it, I would swear that I have "Seen" dark shapes from time to time, almost like a shadow rapidly running across my vision. I MOST of the time attribute it to "Spots" before my eyes, but sometimes I have had the feeling the it was something evil moving about.

Imagination or fact. I don't really know for sure, only a feeling.

September 20, 2014
Hey everyone - i so wish i could lay down some more posts for you all - but it has been an insane period of organization and i have already hit the ground running for the filming of Survivorman Bigfoot. I haven't even been able to yet give you the big announcement i keep promising....soooooooooon........ in the mean time i am heading in tonight alone to a scary lake area where this local town on the north west coast of BC Canada is convinced where Sasquatch are - tons of cases of rocks being thrown from the bush, horrifying screams at night, and sightings of big hairy walking creatures - the place i scouted was covered with fresh large wolf tracks - and that is where i will be staying.....why am i doing this again??????? ....L

September 21, 2014
i stayed outside last night all alone on a Klemtu lake and had a very large tree thrown out of the bush 150 yards from me - quiet the rest of the night......just saying'....L

zero wind - nothing moving - all quiet - totally alone - then - bam! a large tree tossed out of the bush....you decide....on my way back for another night....L

September 22, 2014
Report from the field on last night: it poured rain all night so not much happened (i had a nice scotch and slept) - however yesterday morning is another thing altogether - i paddled out first thing to meet with the team and get new batteries etc - when i got back two apples i had left out were missing - beside them - a 'footprint' track (like a human but not) was in the sand and the very same print 40 yards away was another - now it also could've been ravens taking the apples as well but in one night and morning to have a tree seemingly tossed out of the still woods - two apples taken and two barefoot footprints left behind is at least: interesting. perhaps the tree just rotted (although it had the sound of being tossed) and perhaps ravens or a small rodent took the apples - and perhaps the indentations in the sand are nothing more than coincidental indentations that look humanoid - I'm open to all of that too - or - perhaps there are other explanations....I'm just out now to recharge camera batteries - i have added two hanging salmon in the trees as well - I'm headed back in in a couple hours for another night and to check out a couple caves - on another note - Klemtu is an ideal beautiful little village not eh coast - there is one place to stay: Spirit Bear Lodge - well worth the trip if you can come here some time as a tourist!....L

September 23, 2014
quick update from the field - a good night last night (it poured all night two nights ago) but nothing special to report - so today i hiked through the hills in intensely thick rainforest looking for the caves that have scared a few people in the town that have found them - with claims of horrible stenches - however as much as i spent the time looking in the right area i couldn't find them (maybe thats a good thing!) tonight John bindernagle is here and will check out the two tracks i casted yesterday....I'm headed to Kitasou Bay tomorrow where alot of activity has been reported - what that activity really means is another story but its exciting exploring in any event....L

Re: Cryptids - 10/20/14 01:36 AM

So, three stories.

First, when I was a teenager, I went to Durand Eastman Park with my sis and some of her friends to look for a Wendigo--the evil spirit if the woods that in some accounts shares similar characteristics as Sasquatch. As we were walking along the edge if the road at midnight, I became aware that a tall creature was walking parallel to us about 50 yards or so in the woods. I was just about to point it out to the group when the creature, which was probably at least 7 ft tall, pushed over a rather large tree. Not ashamed to admit that I yelled to everybody "RUN!" and got back to the cars as fast as I could travel.

Second, about 15 years ago, my sister (who goes Sasquatch hunting on a regular basis, or at least used to), had gone with a friend to the mountains about 60 miles north of Yreka, CA, to try and find a Squatch. They had set up tents and settled down for the night when they were awoken by unearthly beast screams, followed by the sound of something very heeavy walking on two legs, shrieking around their tents and shaking them. Then it wandered off. As they sat terrified in their tent, trying to figure out if the coast was clear, the two-legged shrieking creature returned with a companion. The two creatures stomped around the camp site howling and periodically shaking their tent. After a couple of minutes they left and my sister and her friend grabbed their gear, tossed it in the pickup bed, and drove at a breakneck speed out of the mountains.

Third, about 15 years ago, I went with my parents to visit my sis in northern CA. She took us to the camp site she'd had the aforementioned incident at and I admitt, it was creepy--as if something was watching us. Didn't take long for us to decide to vacate. On the way back to my sister's house, we pulled over about 20-30 miles outside of Yreka so she could nurse her child. Two lane highway in the middle of nowhere, about 20 miles from the nearest house. Bend in the road with eough land to pull off and walk around. As my mom and I are walking, I noticed a footprint about 16-18" in length, and then another about 6 feet away and another. Looked like something had climbed the steep mtn frok the Klamuth River below, come out at our pull off, then crossed the street and continued up the mtn. Within moments, my mother found a second set of tracks, a couple inches shorter than the ones I found, and then I found a third set a couple inches shorter still, as if an entire family had been in tow. Got some bad film pics somewhere--days before digital. Footprints were all bare, all huminoid, and much more square or rectangular in shape than your average person. Given the size of the prints of the largest and the spacing between, I'd estimate a creature at least 8' in height.

Take the stories for what they are worth.

One of the members of our group is a retired cop and former Marine

However he claims that the only time in his life that he has been terrified was when something entered his camp one night and pushed on the top of his tent, and denested his cooking pots

I assume you are familiar with Monster Quest. One of the only episodes that found anything like proof (aside from giant squid) was regarding Champ. They found evidence that SOMETHING in the lake was using echolocation--the RADAR used uniquely by bats and water-bound mammals like whales and dolphins. Perhaps Champ is an ancient variety of whale? there have been fossilized remains of small whales found nearby from whe Champlain connected with the Atlantic.

When I was stationed in Japan, we worked in the basement of the Headquarters building, behind a cypher-locked door which was behind a guarded cypher-locked door. To actually access our "Office" you had to go through a final bank vault door.

That's the setup, to say that our "Unit Patch" was Wile E. Coyote's eyes looking out from a dark cave.

I THINK we went to see that at the theatre back many years ago. If it's the one I'm thinking of, I was sitting on the end of the row near the wall, and it had curtains hanging on it. I was terrified that the sasquatch was going to come out of the curtains and get me.

Re: Cryptids - 12/05/14 09:08 AM

IIRC, it's the movie where "He" reached through the window to grab at them on the couch.

One of the saddest sites is the old film of the last Tasmanian tiger pacing in his cage
I would love for this animal to still be alive in the wild somewhere

Re: Cryptids - 12/08/14 10:35 PM

I've seen that before and yeah it makes me sad as well.

Re: Cryptids - 12/09/14 05:40 PM

There are always sightings of it, and I hear there is an attempt to clone one as well.

at 240P, it's almost unwatchable, lol... my jaded technologically spoiled eyes. Fun watch smile

Re: Cryptids - 12/10/14 01:59 AM

Speaking of cloning, they're beginning work on cloning Mammoths, since there have been several very well preserved finds recently. If THAT goes well, I bet with the still very recent DNA they have of the Thylacine, I bet it's not a huge leap.

Re: Cryptids - 12/10/14 05:41 AM

The problem they have encountered with some of the modern animals is that taxidermy and/or tanning cane destroy the DNA
Personally I would like to see the Passenger Pigeon and Carolina Parakeet back pooping on the trees and statues of my American friends

Re: Cryptids - 12/10/14 11:37 AM

Yep that would be awesome!!!

Bill, you DO have a life. It is spent in the woods doing what you enjoy. What more can a man ask out of life.

If you have a warm house, food on the table, clean drinking water, a honest police force, fire department, availability of medical care, modern dentistry, electricity, connection to the internet, more than one set of clothes, a car/truck, ability to protest against your government, a job, retirement fund, religious freedom, non-government controlled news, and a military that is willing to protect all of these thing for you, you have a better life than the majority of the earth's population.

I don't want to sound like a spammer, but I am excited about this project
Not only is Thomas a great guy, but he is a walking encyclopedia on sasquatch
He has over 30 years of interviews on cassette tapes that we want to convert to digital, plus 35 mm photos, slides and written notes
