New Escape and Evasion show - 07/30/07 01:37 PM

Late last night I saw a preview for a new show next month where a former SAS trooper tries to evade a team of special operators. Has anyone else seen this or have more info on the show?

Very cool concept. Keep us posted if they show it again. Hopefully they throw in a couple of urban tidbits as well.

Sounds like the 2003 BBC show "Hunting Chris Ryan"

Re: New Escape and Evasion show - 07/31/07 02:40 AM

I just found it. Its called Special Forces: Manhunt
It is however the same guy from the BBC show, Chris Ryan.
It will now be on the military channel. This guy was one of the SAS guys in Bravo 2 Zero. I believe he was the medic, again I could be wrong. LOL

Heres some info on the shows.
Aug 08, 8:00pm

Siberia
Chris Ryan's mission is to locate a British spy satellite that's crashed 650 km inside the Arctic Circle in Siberia and destroy any secret components that survived the impact. Conditions are ferocious as he's dropped by helicopter on the frozen tundra.

Honduras
Chris Ryan is in the Mosquito Coast in Honduras. His mission is to covertly enter the country, retrieve a cache of secret communications equipment buried deep in the jungle then escape to the coast with the secret equipment.

Bostwana
Chris Ryan's mission is to rescue a fighter pilot shot down over the Kalahari Desert who is now hiding in the Tsidillo Hills of Botswana. He has to find the injured pilot and fly him out using a micro light hidden in the bush by friendly agents.

Yep, those are the same shows, just renamed for the US market. They are available on you tube right now for free if you want to watch them now.

first a word of warning "manhunt" in google yeilds mostly male model searchs or some odd video game.

I just watched the whole first episode if Hunting Chris Ryan, he was in some nasty jungle in south america (Honduras) with a 4 man team on his trail (2 former seals and 2 former SAS) it was not too bad worty my 55 min.

I wonder how the capture team "captures" him? simply spotting him? what if they had tasers, that would up the ante as well as the entertainment value.

Re: New Escape and Evasion show - 07/31/07 08:21 PM

I just seen the first episode on youtube. Its pretty good. I think they have to manualy capture him and like handcuff him or find away to block his extration. They have guns but they don't use them it would be cool if they used paintball rounds or that lazer type system the US military uses for training.

As for capturing him...... - 07/31/07 09:23 PM

*******************************SPOILER**********************

They shoot him down in the last episode when he gets the ultralight in the air, so they are able to use their guns to capture him. He goes 1-1-1 on his missions and almost freezes to death(literally) in one of them. Pretty fun stuff.

Re: As for capturing him...... - 08/04/07 01:25 AM

I read a book about an operator who was so dedicated to passing as local he had himself circumsized bedouin style. That means no foreskin left at all and done with a razor! It ended up saving him a couple of times when the roadblock guards were extra cautious.

First off I'd like to thank youtube, I just finished the last of the three, and I wish they explained a little more about him being shot down, but over all I enjoyed it.
