I figured you guys would like this. It is old, but still a great little 10 minute clip of a man surviving.

Great Stuff, JJ! I lived in Alaska for 5 years. Left there 10 years ago to live in Europe. Watching that clip makes me wonder if I made the right choice.

WOW! How many of us would have the expertise to do that, let alone the desire and the stamina! Now It it were two folks, but ONE!

Oh Sorry, I liked the video and for me it ended way to early. Kinda reminded me of the Stoufer (?) wildlife videos from Wild America I think it was called that came on every once in a while. Now THOSE videos I would like to have, but PRICEY!!!

That is just the beginning too. I am seriously thinking about getting the DVD.

The DVD and the Book are both great! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> The book tells more than the DVD as usual, I'm glad I decided to get the book after seeing the DVD.

And there's another DVD on Mr. Proenneke that's great too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I can't think of the name of it ATM though...

He sure makes it look easy.

I have watched the whole program. That guy has some serious skills and determination. I was very inpressed with what this guy managed to do and how easy he made it look.

I think that would work, a group of likeminded individuals setting up shop. And, if there is a problem, somebody is bound to have a solution for it

The first time I saw him on PBS I was blown away & soooo envious.Old Dick could seamingly do anything.
I wish to hell I had the knowhow & nads to go live like that.
