Anyone ever tear a bicep? - 03/26/11 11:50 PM

Getting MRI Monday hope fully not to bad. I know here are some serious fitness dogs, if anyone has had experience recovering from this let me know. It was injuried during a crossfit exercise, although I didn't feel a thing until later that day. Just should have scaled myself back, but NO this dogs completes the set, and know I will pay for that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

5 sets decrease each exercise by ten start at:,
45 pull ups
50 lunges
55 kettle bell swings (40 lbs)

Man the scrapivores are looking good Dan.

Not personally but have had a couple wrestlers and football players do it. Here is to a quick recovery.

One bicep twice the other once. Not a pleasant injury. The one healed no problem. The one I tore twice will never be the same. It took about three years to feel 95%. I have to be careful to have great form or it reinjures easily. I am still strong but not like I was before. It sucks.

Never tore a bicep. Tore my right upper pectoral in a wrestling tournament in high school. After 19 years I can sometimes feel just the slightest discomfort.

I hope the recovery goes well.

A few years ago the wife and I were involved in a motorcycle crash. No life threatening injuries buy set us back a while.

One of my injuries was a severed bicep and torn rotator. Bottom line is, the bicep was not repaired for a month or so due to mis diagnoses. A simple 1/2hr surgery turned into 6 hours. What a mess!

All I can say is, don't take "you have to live with limitations" as a substitute for good, prolonged physical therapy. I have limited reach above my head with very little strength above my shoulder. I was a pretty good baseball player in my day (pitcher) and now can't even through a baseball without looking like a girl.

Don't mean to bum you out, but stay on top of this.
