The older, more experienced, and wiser I get - the more I appreciate lighter / simpler / more practical gear.
What you think you need, and what you really need are pretty different in the real world.
If I had to run to hills to survive, whatever, I wouldn't waste weight on a giant knife that could be used to carry: water, food, or AMMO. I'd probably take something in the 7" range and a small bushcrafter.
