Square foot of living space, ceiling heights, percentage of facade that has glass, glazing quality, insulation values and installation type, appliance efficiencies, lighting type (incandescent, CFL, LED), and a big one: CLIMATE ZONE (Alaska is a little different than Arizona), etc.

An average home where you are is different than an average home in Florida or New York.

It simply isn't a "average solar system cost xxxx" situation.
