Stacey, what to you eat that an animal would confuse with food!? Or what the hell do animals eat that they would confuse a turd for....delicious chocolate covered peanuts?
And I thought they could smell it even under a few inches of dirt!

Perhaps whatever made those tracks is hunting whatever left the scent in the air.
