Now I know what Sharp meant by "scream like a girl". This Yard Keeper LE is awesome [Linked Image from i17.photobucket.com] !
Man talk about well put together, & it feels sooooo sweet in hand.

[Linked Image from i17.photobucket.com]

I'll do a quick mini-review on how I see the YKLE. The first thing I noticed was the thickness of the blade [Linked Image from i17.photobucket.com] . I cannot for the life of me ever seeing anyone snapping this puppy. Plain & simple it's a tank!

The next thing was just how well it fits my hand. My hands are bigger than normal but I do prefer knives with this size handle. It just gels when I skin/bone-out deer.
And talk about grippy. I don't know what goes into these handles but whatever does I hope Scrap Yard NEVER stray away from this design. IMO it has KISS written all over it, so simple, comfortable & as tough as nails(Noss tests). It's grip is sort of sticky in-hand which is the icing on the cake for me. I cannot ever see my hand slipping off even when soaked in blood or water, which means allot to me as one slip in the middle of no-where can mean disaster .

These are the 3 main positions I hold all my hunting knives.

Another review coming, this time boning-out a deer.

Do I like it, no I love it . This will be one knife they have too pry out of my cold clammy hands [Linked Image from i17.photobucket.com] .

Private Klink you're a bad man sending me this [Linked Image from i17.photobucket.com] & yes you have started something. My YKCG should be here next week [Linked Image from i17.photobucket.com]

I've got one on the way, seems like a larger Game Warden blade, with a res-c handle. I loved the game warden except it was too small, hopefully this will fit the bill! Now, I just have to find a sheath for it. Anyone know of any in house guys that I wouldn't have to send it to?

Just a few sheath makers you might try are Rainwalker, Leatherface, or Leatherdog - all do nice work!

I didn't even realize about Rainwalker & his sheath business otherwise I probably would of went with him. I ended up ordering a couple through Scrap Yard Co.

RW does some great work on leather and kydex.

Here's a custom Piggy Back sheath he did for me awhile back.

Here's the RMD sheath by itself with a little of my creativity.

WOW!!! I really like the pouch set up on the RMD sheath!!! Very Nice!

What kind of pouch is that? Looks like it fits well.

RW,

It actually came with my Duty belt. It is, however, and SOE style folder pouch. TAD has some a pouch that's very similar.

And yes, the pouch works perfectly with the RMD kydex.

Yeah looks that way. Sweet sheaths man

Like I said earlier. If I could do it again I would of ordered two YK sheaths from RW. For one I get more of a custom look in a sweet/quality product, helps out a fellow dog pursuing what he loves & Scrap Yard Co seem to be very busy ATM.
Not sure what the deal is with Scrap Yard ATM(I just read a thread discussing some wait-time & orders). And I'm not up to date with all that has gone on, but I do understand both sides from what I've just read.

Still, this doesn't stop me from just ordering another two YK sheaths from RW, as there will be a pretty good chance I can always re-mold the Scrap Yard sheaths to suit other knives at a later date .
But ATM I will hold off as I'm looking at purchasing another blade around 6.5(min)-7.5"(max), in either a Scrap Yard, Swamp Rat or Busse . So until I decide what I want, then seeing if I can get it. Then maybe doing a bulk order. I will see how I go as I do need the sheaths soon.

Just a matter of interest. What would the delivery time be on two sheaths coming out of the Scrap Yard Co? They were in stock at the time of purchase.

airmail from VA to Sydney takes about 7 or 8 calendar day. Add a week on this end, plus more on your end if you live in the middle of nowhere.

I'm always puzzled by international shipping times.

As a rule, I can usually depend on stuff getting "Down Under" in a fairly dependable, 10 to 14 days. Most of the time anyway.

However, when I send stuff to Western Canada, there's just no way of telling how long it will take...

Other counties vary too, but the difference between AU and Western CA, are the ones that confuse me the most. You'd think it'd be the other way around.

Just did my first cuts with the LE. No fresh deer this time but that roast pig certainly didn't stand a chance with the LE as my butter knife . I think I've just found my new dinner knife
