Hello everybody.
Today I would like to show you a simple and good system to “purify” water.
Pay attention: this system works well to eliminate sand, particules, insect’s eggs etc. from the water that you may find during outdoor activities, but does’nt work to eliminate bacteria or other dangerous micro-organisms (like Clostridium perfringens, Escherichia coli): to eliminate them and to obtain drinkable water, safe 100%, you need, after this process, to boiling the water obtained or in alternative to use chlorine or iodium.
Well, here we have our “dirty” water:
Now, we need for a pot (in this case, a glass), and a strip of paper or cotton (note: sinthetic material does’nt works!):
Put the strip in the dirty water, and the dry side of the strip in the pot for the clean water. After 5 minutes…:
After 10 minutes…:
When the strip is completely wet, you may see the water falling down, drop by drop, continously. After 20 minutes:
Well, I stopped now, because what was interesting to me was to show you the process and the final results.
Using bigger pots, more strips and more time, you may increase, of course, the quantity of the clean water. I obtained 1,5 litres of water using 4 stripes during 1 night.
After 36 hours at room temperature, the water obtained with this method is always whitout smell or “strange” colors:
