Discovered this a while back. Those that consider every gram of weight while backpacking, this may be for you. Sounds like a good American, family owned company. I talked to the owners daughter who answered the phone, a delightful young lady. Check them out on youtube as well.

Looks nice! Needs some camo paint.

Just gave the site a look-see. Not a bad concept rifle, and the weight seems to be awesome and the fishing pole built in is ingenious. For the price, I doubt that I will ever pick one up though. One thing that I did not care for was the pics because it showed the kid with the mt. lion--did the kid really take the mt. lion with a lt. wt. pack rifle, if so I want to read that story for sure.

I have looked at these a couple times before and have been tempted. I can see some value as a food for the pot type gun.

like the idea but I like the idea of a quick follow up shot. the ar-7 sells for almost half that retail price.

i decided to look for stocks for the ar-7 and found these for $50. don't know if it saves weight and probably not as easy to store but it shrinks the package I'm thinking.

I've seen so many bad reviews of the AR7 that I probably would not buy one. If anything different I might try a carbon fibre barrel 10-22 with ultralight stock.

If the AR7 was one of the older ones that worked it would be ok but what I have seen from the new ones I will pass. I have thought about looking at one of the little chipmunk rifles and see if there is a way to make it a breakdown for a pack rifle.

I looked at one of those chipmunks at a show a while back thinking about as a pack gun also, as it is short. I didn't think to see how easy the barreled action would disassemble from the stock.

I was looking at the Chipmunks again, just for curiosity reasons. I looked over and see a Henry with fiber-optic sights, ss, and an orange stock. Right next to it is a Savage single shot that has a blue brl and action along with a synthetic stock and Accu-trigger.

Here is a description of the rifles:
Chipmunk: laminated stock, single shot, peep rear sight, short, round bolt knob, and blue. The action screw is a hex-head. Price was 169.00

Savage: black synthetic stock, single shot, peep rear sight, short, blue metal, round bolt know, uses a hex head action screw, and Accu-trigger. Price was 159.00

Henry: stainless metal, orange stocks, a bit larger stock, flat bolt handle, fiber-optic sights, and it used a slot head action screw. Price was like 229.00

My impression was I liked the Henry rifle with the orange stock, ss, and the fiber-optic sights but not for the amount of money over the other two rifle. The Chipmunk is nice, but the laminated wood stock did not feel very good, but what do you expect for a short kid rifle and and adult shouldering it. I was most impressed by the Savage for several reasons: Accu-trigger (different since it is on a kids rifle), synthetic stock, peep rear sight, round bolt knob, and feel in the shoulder.

When I get a little cash together that is not going in the 911 fund or to doctors and bills I think I will pick one of the Savages up and make a pack rifle out of it. About the only thing I will need do is paint the rifle with some rattle can paint, slot the action screw so I can use a coin or other slot tool, and figure something out for a case that will hold a box of shells.

BTW, those prices were in a local gun store so I am sure they can be beat on-line and those are MY Adult impressions of a kids gun that can pull double duty.

That Savage sounds interesting. Was it a youth model?

Savage Rascal. Only weighs 3.5lbs. Could be a good candidate for a take down modification.

I went to my LGS to take back a scope mount and looked at one of these. It is a youth model. Yes I could see welding a wingnut type of adaptor to the hex nut for quick take down of the action from the stock for packing

I also thought about some sort of aluminum extension for the stock for adult sized application.

This one has me thinking. I really like the accu trigger included on this.
