No good deed will go unpunished. I skipped Blade this year so my wife's band could perform a concert that would give her band a lot of local exposure and get them some more paying gigs. After considerable expense and hundreds of hours of pain staking practice, they beat the rain and gave a great performance. The concert promoters were all impressed and the Beach Blondes, especially with the sweet soprano voice of Susan's daughter, Stephanie, they never sounded better. So after touching base with several interested establishments on Saint Simons Island (where the money is), I find out that Susan's partner, the founder of the band has dissolved the Beach Blondes. Pure cat fighting jealousy. I'm done with it. I don't care if Susan is booked for Carnegie Hall. Next year, I'm going to Blade. I'm selling off knives and guns to finance it, but I'm going to be there if I'm still breathing and have to hitch hike there.

Pure cat fighting jealousy. Pics? Seriously, I played with bands for almost 14 years and I just couldn't take it any more. Whenever we started to get somewhere egos would explode and the search for a new member would begin. Oh man that stinks Vic! But if everything goes like we are hoping it will I might be able to make it next year myself. Just to far in advance to tell for sure though. Ask me again in March.

Susan really wanted to attend Blade this year, but this concert was important to her. We will be there next year.

This is actually a good lesson for your wife and her daughter. Now is not the time to give up...don't let one person's greed crush their dreams. They will find another path.
Hopefully, that path doesn't intersect with BLADE 2013, however.
