i'm hoping these will make some real tough little throwing knives! can anybody confirm or disconfirm this allegation? they're shorter than most throwing knives but i'm hoping they make up for it in thickness...

I held Hot Diggity Dogs at Knob Creek and may come to regret not buying a few, but they just aren't a blade that I would carry. They're a very good small hold-out, necker sort of knife and priced to sell, but at least for me, they're less practical than a 3-11. They could be thrown, but may not have the weight for good down-range penetration; I'd be interested on hearing how well they work for you as throwers.

I mostly throw knives at a relatively close distance, using either a no-rotation, half-rotation, or full-rotation throw, at about 1, 2, and 3 meters respectively. After that my sticking percentage goes down drastically. That's why I love my 1st gen. Cold Steel Sure Strike throwing stars--they always stick! Not useful as a knife however. In my opinion most throwing weapons are primarily a distraction; while the zombies are reacting to the three HDDDaggers I just threw at them, I'll be charging in with the 1311 and/or Scrapizashi. Even if they don't stick, they should get the job done. I throw my TOPS Indio pretty well. Its 7 1/4" long and 1/8" thick.

I'll let you guys know how it goes once I get the daggers. 1311 and 411 first though, please. Its a good time to be a Dog <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I like the red ones that are in the upcoming Cupidganza. I'll think about those, but doubt I'll be sufficiently motivated to send a 'ganza email. The red-bladed 311s are very nice too.

This is also one of the reasons I traded for one, should work well for that role. Not to mention throwing, self defense, drilling, puncturing, etc.....
