What I am mainly thinking is, how I and alot of other people should have stocked up and been prepared.

With that said I think availibilty will go up and prices will come down.

I won't be caught flat footed again.

same here imagine. i will get back to buying a box here or there when I see it. got out of the habit back 08' panic. at the very least a cheap box of .22lr when I'm at a shop.

as for calibers i'm going to make more of a point to stock up on .22lr and 7.62x39. for handgun ammo I would rather go with 9mm because of price but so far I only have one 9pm firearm. have two firearms in .40 cal. i guess that means I need a nice plinker 9mm <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. if focus on those I should have the calibers I will shoot the most covered. after those I would like to has a nice supply and variety of 12 gauge loads. everything else I would be fine just having a couple boxes of premium ammo and enough for a couple hours at the range.

i keep saying I'm going to get a nagant and a bunch of ammo. other than that I don't want any new calibers or changes. after that I don't think I will add any more calibers to what I already have.

The ammo is there but requires perseverance and determination. I hit the Wal-Mart’s every morning before going into work, and I have scored .22 in the early AM. I am now staking out Dick's sporting goods in the early hours before they open so that I can secure my place in line. Pickings are slim but scoring can be as exciting as nailing that first deer in the early bow season.

I'm still hoping that when this all dies down, the used market will be saturated and I'll be able to pick up a great deal on a 5.56 pea shooter.

I ain't rethinking my .50 beowulf. Ammo is hard to come by even when we aren't having this problem. I knew that getting into it. But I've always wanted a beowulf and I got lucky and found one on cabelas. I finaly found a small business here in anchorage that had Factory ammo available, that's a huge deal up here in AK. I think it's funny that I got fully loaded ammo before I got brass for reloading. anyway. I don't want to sell my 50 beowulf just because ammo is hard to come by. the thing is just way to cool for me. but it's the usual with all the standard calibers, you just gotta show up at a gun shop or store at just the right time to pick up ammo

Looks like I will be getting an 1894 Marlin lever action .44 mag., so I will be needing more ammo. But I'm glad to be getting it!

I need to start using your LGS.. Have you seen an IWI Tavor perchance, and at what $$$?

44 can often be found on line. Walmart occassionaly gets a box or two around here. I'm sitting one about 4-500 rounds, so I'm pretty set on it for a while--not fun to shoot in the handgun but it is a pleasure in a rifle

The Marlin 1894 will probably be my next purchase. I am a big 44 magnum fan also. I have the Rossi Ranch Hand in .44 magnum and love it. It is a blast to shoot. Since ammo has been scarce my friend is getting me into reloading. I think that's the way to go.

I ended up buying a 40SW because WalMart ALWAYS had two or three boxes on the shelf. I sold all of my 40's quite a while back, but bought a HK USP Compact 40 due to the ammo availability. I actually like the little gun a lot.
