I'm starting to salivate. Is it really two whole weeks 'til Christmas? eek

Looks like I'll need to practice some meditation.

It doesn't seem to come naturally to us, but Dan is trying to teach us patience, fellow grasshopper Dogs. But, yeah, I can't wait for the MudMut, either. Or the 1111. Or the 611. Or the 811. And the bright handled knife. Oh and anything else that DT's suggested wink

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I can't help but thinking what an awesome pair this will make with the 1311..... smile

Is it just me or does it look like the Mud Mutt features a 6" blade and a half height convex grind? Awesome!!!

Dogs, as many of you know we had an intense and engrossing conversation to determine what would be the best handle to grace an EDC style knife. Being blade aficionados and more importantly, Canines of the Courtyard, you determined that a handle that was proven in muck and mire was the best fit for the job. The Mudder Handle has a following like no other and it has adorned many a fine edge from Scrap Yard.

Your deafening howls then led to the debate of the most appropriate blade design to match the power grip of the Mudder. A consensus was arrived at that a knife with at least a 5” long blade was the best way to go. So, a blade design that is bled from the Scrap Yard coat of arms has been coupled with a Mudder handle to deliver an unsurpassed level of performance by design alone.

I found the steel on one of my hunts in the warehouse. Under a dirt ridden, tarp covered pallet in an unlighted section of the warehouse I found the thinnest SR-101 steel (.140”) ever acquired by Scrap Yard Knives. Despite it's lack of girth, it has tested out with outrageous results stemming from our time proven heat treat process. Our lords of torture were befuddled by the unrelenting strength of this lean but statuesque blade. Known as the Mud Mutt, it takes SR-101 to uncharted performance levels.

Born from the “Brotherhood Of The Yard”, Scrap Yard is proud to offer our newest model, the Mud Mutt. Priced at $119.95 it sets a new level in price to performance ratio.

After work one night and doing what I’m good at…sipping on some refined corn mash, it dawned on me that I needed to pump up the Holiday Spirits. So acting as “Danta Claus” as Boss Hog has labeled me, I make this offer to Scrap Yard forum members only; buy a Mud Mutt before 12/31/13 and I will drop the price to $99.95! In addition, I am offering an optional double stitched leather pouch style sheath for this blade. They're normally priced at $24.95 but we will let them fly out the doggy door at $19.95 as a way of saying Happy Holidays!!!

Also, since there is little chance of the knives arriving in time for the Holidays, upon request only, I will mail you a hand signed Gift Confirmation that you can gift wrap for under the tree.

Here are some specs for the knife:

Overall Length: 10”

By the way, I have had some questions on the blade style. It is a gentle dropped point

Enjoy

Dan

I hope to see a side by side pic when they're ready. Looks like the thinner, longer version of the 411 that I wanted.

5"…I was way off on my guess. Must be the angle / position in the picture.

Gonna make a lot of dogs happy.

I'm wondering if there's a chance that the traditional black handle will be offered along with the Sage...maybe a drop down option on the order page? blush I know...boring, but what can I say...I love the look of that handle style in black. I guess I'm just old fashioned. grin
