7.11 VS SOD - 02/12/12 08:07 AM

hey guys so the 7.11 has been out for a while now, was wondering if there are any side by side pics of it with a SOD? also has anyone done a chop off between two? i have an SOD and i love it to death, its my go to outdoors knife and i would love to see how the 7.11 compares to it.

Yeah there pics already here with em but later I can post some new ones if no one else comes up.

Ok here is a link to the other page with other pics but since I hate just getting a link to a request here are some pics that you requested.

I dunno, but ever since receiving my 711, I have no more itch for an SOD

I think the SOD looks cooler but I like that the plunge line on the 711 is closer to the handle !

Great comparison shots Sar5. It looks like the SOD is much beefier than the 711.

Great Pics SAR ! While I'm not sure it's all the knife that the SOD is , the 711 sure looks to be on par with the Camp Tramp in every way . And from what I have heard the Cam Tramp is a popular knife .

I've fondled SF45's SOD. While I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the 7-11 is more than enough (unless of course the Yard re-released the SOD, in which case I'd have to retract that statement...)

I'd be very tempted if they re-released a SOD outta 3/16" stock.......man that would be a great camp knife !!!

I prefer the 711 - no thumb ramp and the blade is a bit less wide making the proportions seem more "right". Have one on order and can't wait

After using the 7-11 I am liking it a lot. Its a winner.

If I didn't already have the SOD, I'd be all over the 711. But I don't use the SOD as it is, and I'd hate to be redundant and have two that I didn't use.

Re: 7.11 VS SOD - 02/26/12 10:56 AM

Looked at my 711 and SF45ACP's SOD today side by side. I'll be MOST happy with my 7-11. It is a definite WINNER of a blade! SOD is a bit heavier (as to be expected), but the 711 seems like more of a great all around camp knife while still having enough of a forward balance to be a great chopper. Looking forward to a chop off some time in the future, once it gets a bit warmer out
