Love the look and spec's of the 411 - and it has the mudder handles like the scrapper 5 its gonna be awesome.

Man oh man. I am glad my mud puppy showed up just before that email. I really dont see the 1" bigger blade on this as an improvement for my uses over the puppy. Might pick up another dagger. Seeing as how the grey one I got is not going to be offered in production, atleast yet. If I had not got the puppy I would be all over the 411.

I'm psyched too bro since I got my S5LE I've been on the hunt for new mudders now I can get one a great price and not have to lose an arm and a leg on the exchange!!!

Regarding the Dog Appreciation Charge, if you had gotten a Yard Keeper, you could get a T-shirt or hat for $5. Since you can't get a Yard Keeper, it doesn't apply any more. Not sure why it is still there, actually.

Well, two 411s for me. Was trying to wait a while so that maybe I would get in later and have a chance to recover from all the other great stuff offered lately. But couldn't hold off any longer. Too bad we didn't have color options like what was offered with the Scrapper 5. I think that was the last time we had color options at the initial offering (my gateway Bussekin). Good chance we may see variations at Blade 13, so another good reason to attend. But then that means I will need to buy more. ARRGH, this addiction, what do I do. Just when I think that I am reaching a saturation point, I see something else I think I must need.

Who has handled the prototypes? What other knives is the 411 similar to? I want to get an idea of the size and profile of the blade and balance.

Yea, I would like a quick review too. I like the length of the 311, but the mudders look (and I'm sure feel) sweeeeet! I think the 411 would be small enough because the 511 felt pretty small in my hand. (Not that I have big hands.) But it did, so I think the 411 would be small enough for a high hip carry? Thoughts?

I think you are probably right about the hip carry. Seeing as how the blade is three quarters of a inch shorter (and 1 inch shorter overall) than the S5, it should carry just a tad better. If you're wondering any more about it, I have the specs up for the S5 and 411 (all the info I've got anyway) in the Scrapyard knife specs thread. Hope it is of some help to you.

Just pulled the trigger on a 411 and a trio of HDDDs!!! I cannot afford this knife purchase. And I just said this a week ago when I ordered a 1311. This is me admitting I have a problem. I'm rationalizing it by telling myself I'm going to sell something.

I've been waiting for that 411 for a while...looks like a real winner. A full flat-ground Infi LE version would probably be just about the perfect 4 inch hard use combat/utility knife...

As for those Doggy Daggers, I've been looking for a new set of throwing knives for a while...these are shorter than most throwing knives but the 3/16" thickness should make them heavy enough to throw well.

I just ordered the 411, love that it has the mudders. I thought about the boot dagger but in OK it is a no, no to carry a double edged blade. I held out on that one just in case I decide on a 311. Looking forward to this blade, the S5 did not do it for me but I think this one will have the balance I wanted. Thank you SYC.

I just impulse purchased the hot diggity dog dagger, and at that price I can't say that I regret it in the slightest.

The 411 is a good looking knife too but its just too similar to the scrapper 5 to justify purchase.

A box from Ohio with a 911 in it (wow is that thing beautiful) AND a chance to spend more money and buy a 411!

The only downside is i'm having a 911 and 311 combo sheath made for me by Rainwalker and now i've got to get a 411 to go with it as i'll probably end up using the 411 and 911 more often than the 311.

I love the mudder grips. I'm going to have to order a 4-11 but right now I'm holding off because I got a KD hawk coming do and I went a head and ordered 2 1311's. but I guess it is only like 80 bucks. I should probably just put it on order just in case lol

3D, it could be that or the "Sculpted blade" on the HG55

DDDave, Tom (Private Klink) verified that the "hollow ground corrugated bevel" is on the Busse Combat HG55 knife.

I've read that this version of Sandvik is tougher than most of the comparable stainless but not great with edge retention UNLESS it gets a proper heat treat. It probably did.

I think milling lines of some sort are a safe bet. Seems the way it's all heading.

No problem with me, I like how they look, but I have been wondering what would cause the least friction in a cut; the coating, stripped and polshed, or just stripped. Im wondering if the milling lines would reduce the contact area or act as teeth.
