If I want to watch zombies I'll go to WalMart or a shopping mall. They're everywhere - just look outside. No need to watch them on television. In fact, we don't watch any television (but we do own one).

Televisions are good for the Weather, watching movies (DVD's) of YOUR choosing and some news. There are are a few other things it's good for as well.

I have been asking for a minute if you got bit on a extremity and cut it off quick enough will you still turn? I'm not sure but I guess we are going to find out.

That's exactly what we have a television for:

Weather - We bought one of those digital antenna that allows us to receive a semi-local station that has weather reporting.

Movies/Documentaries - we pick the time to watch them (none of this planning our lives around some TV programmer's schedule crap). Mostly we watch documentaries. Last night we watched "Food Inc". I recommend it. Last week we watched "Food Beware: The French Organic Revolution". I highly recommend it. That's about the extent of our "TV watching" a couple of hours a week for a movie or documentary.

We were amazed at how much "free time" we had when we stopped watching TV and couldn't have internet access. It was like we were given four hours a day for free. Try it - you'll be amazed at how much you can learn (reading) and accomplish (working on something productive) when you unplug.

I agree Architect. I do enjoy some time in front of the idiot box though. I like discovery and history channel. But the programing has seriously dumbed down the past few years.


I watched TWD on the internet this morning. It confirms my idea's if I were to know I was going to turn into a Zombie. I think I will be the best Zombie I can be. So it was a GREAT start, lots "o" killin'. I wish Monsterdog would jump in, because I know he has also read the comic boo...er...graphic novel. But there would be unctrollable desire to unleash spoilers. If any of you have "accidently" read the graphic novel you know sone really sick stuff goes down soon...I hope.

Also, the Zombie craze has inspired more than a few people to become preppers. For me it was Katrina. Plus living in Earthquake country and INSANEville (Los Angeles) helps.

I lied. Motion picture is one of the latest art forms and has really come into its own. Even with TV series being made about something as ridiculous as walk dead people, the writing in some of these shows is on par or better than the writing in the past when there was nothing but books, periodicals and word of mouth folklore.

Do I exercise my imagination as much when I watch a story instead of reading it? Of course not. Do I get a better understanding and interpretation of the creators' imagination when I watch a story instead of reading it? Of course I do. It's a give and take.

Last night I saw "Juan of the Dead". Its the Cuban version of "Shawn of the DEad". Its not quite as funny buts its still good. Its in Spanish, but the subtitles flow well for those that don't speak Spanish. Also theres a character named Lazaro that has a dual machete sheath rig...I want that set up.

Great episode!

The Governor is making a bad move by not letting Merle look for Daryl. I have feeling that he and Michonne are gonna become good friends. If the ultimate Redneck hooks up with an African American girl...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....


Two deaths that I wasn't expecting, at least not yet.
T-dog was just an OK character and the fact that they let him have some dialog before getting eat let you know something was up. Kinda of like the new guy on they away team on Star Trek...you know he's gonna get it.


and the other (i forget her name right now), but I'm glad to see her go! AMC didn't do it like the comic, so we have some new cast members.

I'm surprised we didn't get to see the Governor's daughter, my wife kept asking where she was and I did all I could not to spoil it for her.

Lori and TDog had to go, they were getting to be annoying characters, but in death they can provide a little bit of emotion finally.

Glenn and Maggie will probably take the baby I'm guessing since they take in Sophia in the novels when Carol dies (much earlier in the storyline).

Glen chopping a walkers head in half with his machete was an excellent kill. I figure it would be boring by mow, but nope it ruled!

I'm pretty psyched about tonight's episode. Last weeks was pretty brutal with all the unexpected happenings. I wanna see how they recover. I'm guessing we'll also start seeing a story build up of the "two groups" finally meeting.

t dog & carol got seperated from the group. t dog had already got bitten in the shoulder. as they were trying to escape they got "headed off at the pass" by walkers...t dog bum rushed them & it allowed carol to run past them....i dont recall her showing back up in any later scenes

I don't think Carol was mentioned as lost on The Talking Dead, at least not last week. Which makes me believe she will come back.

Carol still hasn't been found, but Lori's body is missing as well. Was she eaten by that walker, its obvious that Carl didn't shoot her.

Milton is still pretty creepy and I'm glad that Andrea has finally come to her senses that the Gov is Crazy.

A good episode and I really think Merle and Daryl are my two favorite characters.

That was a GREAT episode! So far this Season has been really fast and good. Rick is finally comin' around. Merle is mischievious and I'm glad to see he is willing to screw over the gov (lying to him etc...there will be a confrontation).

Glen is the bada$$ in this one. Taking out a walker while held prisoner tied up in a chair.
The Gov is trying to reassure Merles loyalty to him. He knows that Daryl will come looking for Glen and Maggie and he needs Merle.
I think Andrea is still in a daze and when she wakes up she will unleash some punishment on the Gov...if Michanne or Maggie don't get to him first...maybe a murdurous threesome?

Milton sucks and I hope he dies soon. How can they still think walkers can be human.

The mid-season finale was pretty awesome! The Dixon brothers reunion was pretty interesting. I'm interested to see how Andrea reacts to finding out about her old group. Was also excited to see the show do more things that brings it closer to the comic (the arrival of Tyrese, and the Governor losing an eye).

There's a new group in the prison that includes a major character from the comic, Tyrese. Little Carl saves them and brings them back to their part of the cell block, but separated from the group.

Michonne and the group rescues Maggie and Glen, but separates herself from the group to get her revenge on with the governor. She kills Penny, pokes out one of the the governors eyeball out, and is then confronted by Adrea who lets her go.

I think after Penny's death, we're going to see the Governor become totally unhinged and let his inner evil all hang out.

Oscar bites the dust. Rick shoots some guy who he thinks is Shane, until he realizes its some random dude. Michonne more or less wants to be a part of the group and tells Rick that they need her. Daryl covers the group's escape but gets caught in the end.

The prisoner guy that got left behind (guy with mustache) perv's out on little Beth. You can see Carl getting protective over Beth. Carol tells mustache guy to not go near Beth again. At one point she declares to him that she's not a lesbian.

In general, you see Carl really stepping up this episode as trying to take care of the group thats left behind at the prison.

The Governor declares Daryle a terrorist that attacked Woodberry and pegs Merle as an inside accomplice to the attack. Governor was pissed about finding out that Merle lied to him when he was told that Michonne was dead, and it cost him an eye.

One of the last shots is Adrea recognizing Daryl.

that was a crazy show and [censored] they left it so freaking open!!! wtf!!! great episode but I'm not sure I'll be able to wait till February!

I'm glad Tyrese is here, although I felt Oscar was gonna kind of be his character in the show. Daryl and Merle are in quite a bind, but it seems that they will hook up with Andrea and take down the Governor. If Andrea does not help take down the Gov then I am through with her.

Also Michonne has angered and injured the Gov but she has not been tortured yet so she hasn't had the need for full revenge...I hope it happens.

If Merle rejoins the group how does he rectify what he did (and said) to Glen?

I don't think Merle will be rejoining the group. Seems like he burnt both bridges lying to the Governor about Michonne and then beating up on Glen. He'll be lucky if he makes it out of Woodbury alive.

Just saw it last night on the web...good ending for this leg of the season! Lot's going on...I'm hoping Andrea is plotting how to help her old group. Good timing for some help to show up with Tyrese and the others...

Gonna be a long wait until February!

Well now that Daryl is gone and Rick is gone(emotionaly) Glen is the official bada$$ of the group. Although Tyrese will prove himself.

I predict Daryl kills Merle and gets back with the group, but theres no way Merles in as long as Glens around. Michonne will have to step up as well.
Sasha gets to stay cuz she's nice...and I mean N-I-C-E!!

The guy with the stash has to get the ax as well as the other two new guys. Glen followed them out so you know they are not gone.

A good episode for sure.

The look on Michonne's face as Rick is making out with dead Lori (aka a tree) was priceless. Like "That guy is insane, I don't want to stay here!"

Glen is Great for sure and really stepping up.

I'm Glad Daryl stuck up for the guys and the kid. Merle was kinda funny before but his DBness is too much. I was glad when Daryl left but when Merle showed up at the end I knida didn't like that.

Tyrese and Sasha need to come back.

So the Gov is at the Prison, let the showdown begin

I think that right now in the show with this impending battle royal vs newberry Meryl is going to come in quite handy as he is a go getter, and a total psychopath. There going to need all the help they can get. Great to see Daryl back.
Too bad axel died. But I totally get it, I thing the producers didn't want another pointless love triangle. Less talking, more walker slaying lol.

Well it looks like most of the yard is more into reality than fantasy right now, but I'm not given up on wastin' valuable fist shakin' at Washington time!

The past couple weeks have been good. Andrea has, I believe sold out the group, she could have killed the gov, but didn't.

Michonne is gettin cooler and why not take leave the prison and take over Morgans place? Also Rick took one lousy bag of guns and ammo? Morgan had tons of stuff plus a whole case of Hand Grenades!

I love the little "story" with the guy with the backpack. They were right to take it from him, it looked like an Arc'teryx! They are expensive!!
Why didn't they look through the cars for stuff they were stopped on the side of the road and one car had a pile of goodies on top.

Just watched this weeks episode. I thought it was a great one..Merles character (and actor) was great...I just couldn't wait to hear/see what he was going to do next. Nice that he got a level of redemption and that seen with Daryl at the end was intense and well done...

I was hoping Merle and Michonne woulda hooked up.

This season has been really good, but its time to leave the prison...and I hope Andrea gets it
