Busse picture challenge...

What we need is a Busse picture challenge like the thread over at bladeforums. I'm sure we can get more creative in our shots!

Here's a Res-C Bussekin square for something creative.


Seriously though, basically the person who starts the challenge comes up with an idea/rules for the rest of us to try to achieve and capture in a photo. For the Busse Challenge Thread on BF, the challenge all involve/include Bussekin knives in the winning photo as a requirement. Then who ever posts a qualified photo created after the challenge is issued wins the round and goes on to issue the next challenge. In this case, since my photo is from many months ago, it would not be accepted for a challenge issued last night. It's a unique way to generate new pics/posts when things are slow and it's fun too. I may have forgotten some of the details.

Hmm, move North. We finally have a decent way to get a CCW and no limitation on folding knives either concealed or open carry. Fixed blades have to be worn on the waist openly, but no limit on length. People will look at you funny though. ;-)

In keeping with "easy"...given it's almost Halloween...let's see the Bussekin with as many Halloween-inspired items you can fit into a photo...the more cliché, the better.

Photo must have something Scrap Yard in it since this it the Yard.

Yep, "in the" snow requirement killed my chances to play. "With" allows for more people to play.

Thats why its in slash with either will suffice. I was really hoping someone would get one with a snowcone. lol

That was an edit. The original post instructed "in" as I recall. No worries.

Here's a MBC. It did not cut the map, this thing is just tattered from living on the wall for many years.

It won't hurt my fillings if it doesn't win. I did a hunt for snow themed items, but not much luck.

MBC is sharp as H$/£! I touch it up about once a week.

Map is tattered and that tear was along a fold.

Tear started at the fold at the bottom of the map, then as time passed, it tore raggedly upward.

Let's see a Bussekin being used as the primary cutting tool for preparing or consuming your meal. The photo must include something Scrap Yard specific and an item important to you. Any item that holds any degree of meaning.

To recap: Bussekin knife, a Scrap Yard item, and another item with some personal significance.

If a SYKCO knife is used in the photo it satisfies the Scrap Yard item requirement, but a personally significant item must still appear with it.

A Bussekin along with something to show a non-knife/gun/tactical/similar hobby that you enjoy.

We often see photos of knives with guns and such on a regular basis, but I know we enjoy so many more (diverse) hobbies than just these type. So, if your a golfer, RC pilot, actual pilot, motorcycle enthusiast, nudist (lol)...you get the idea.

Let's see your Bussekin along with something to represent a hobby you enjoy.

So, is it a rule that the person who specifies the photo topic is the judge that determines if a photo meets the challenge??...or, for the sake of keeping this thread active...

...if two or more members post comments like those above, it can be assumed the photos wins and a new challenge can be presented?

I just don't want to make assumptions.

I think two or more or the OP works.

I'm leaning that way too.

These type threads get bogged down by difficult (for many) suggestions for the photo themes.

Like, if I said..."atop a mountain", "inside a Ferrari" or "in the hands of a politician"...those are not impossible, but difficult and really slow activity.

I'll post an idea for the next photo here in a bit. Gives Psyop a chanc to officially say my photos win while giving me a few minutes to decide what the next topic will be.

A sunrise will do, but sunset is preferred..

Some things are beautiful even on a cloudy day. No matter how morose things seem, there are still those of us that know and believe.

No thing, person or contest outcome will deter or alter the hearts of those who love this country (and I'm not speaking of those who love it for what it can give to them).

Alright I hijacked my own thread to let out a hint at things on my mind lately. I can go so much deeper into every topic, but not going to.

I wish everyone a happy and fun as possible weekend. So much suffering, to those I feel I for you and share in your frustration. I'll say it again, my heart goes out to those suffering and my thanks goes out to any and everyone doing something to help.

I suggest we now go one of two ways as a default rule to keep this thread active.

Option 1: "Challenge Themes" expire after 48-72 hours from the time they are posted and a new idea must be submitted. If no new idea is posted within 72 hours, the thread is open to any member's suggestion for a new "challenge theme".

Or
Option 2: We agree to remove the "challenge theme" aspect all together. This way we don't need a person saying a photo is a winner, another person trying to cleverly generate another "challenge theme", etc.
The thread would grow and change naturally. A photo is posted, then another member uses an element from the privious image and creates a new photo / idea all their own.

Skys the limit on how image ideas are formulated. For example if an image is posted of the knife sitting atop a rainbow, the next image could pull ideas from the obvious colors or go further and have a leprechaun sitting atop a pot of gold holding a Bussekin and grinning wildly as their photo.
