Love me the Regulator! Haven't watched all 22 minutes of the review.

He does a good job showing the toughness and ability to chop for it's size. Overall I think it's a great testament to the blade and company. The fact he's been using it for three years and that he tried to make it fail and couldn't do it is pretty funny. He loves the handle, loves the steel, says the knife is worth the purchase and likes the collectible factor of the business.

I know he's not some people's cup of tea but I like most of his reviews.

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/16/13 09:04 AM

He is definitely a very polarizing personality. I don't agree with everything he thinks, but he does a good job at being thorough with the gear he reviews.

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/16/13 09:13 AM

I have not watched any of his vids for well over a year now. I had a crack the last few times I did, his opinions were very mall-ninja-ish back then and I found it really funny that he'd have a following out there...
I find it hard to believe he'd have a knife for 3 years before making review, usually he'd be doing reviews the day he received the knife...

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/16/13 09:59 AM

glad he did a scrapyard blade. hopefully we will see some more show up. maybe he will run something in the store. would be a good time for him to do one in the 411.

ill run a few of his videos when nothig else is on. he has had his hands on a lot of gear. guy likes to talk for sure. but at least he organized his talking points and covers alot of information that would be on the average users mind. agree with him or not it's actually more entertaing than seeing the blade on a rotating pedestal with some specs. way more entertaining than most of the reality tv shows that always seem to be on.

will probably direct some new folks to the yard as well...

NutNFancy is a weird phenomenon. He is a novice at best and yet people seem to believe he has knowledge.

Can't stand the dude

He sounds convincing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I listen to his reviews on the way to and from work. I usually dont agree with his reviews but he does bring up some good points and the guy does use the stuff he is reviewing.

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/17/13 12:02 AM

I am not a fan
I do wonder about the timing though
Last year at Blade he got bent out of shape because Jeff Randall wouldn't give him a special interview or something.
He then posted anti-ESEE reviews

I don't understand why he has the following he does

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/17/13 04:09 AM

When he tries a tactical gear/weapons review I want to jam a pencil into my ears. he is about as tactical as an etch a sketch.

I'm sure he is a nice guy. Just way out of his lane.

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/17/13 05:05 AM

I've warmed up to his style more after I started seeing his gun reviews.

What I've started liking the most is that he doesn't really make excuses for his reviews being anything other than his own subjective opinion of something, which I find refreshing.

Now, do I agree with everything he says? Absolutely not, but he is at least very thorough in explaining his own point of view and it gives me a good basis for figuring out what I might like differently. He does use his gear WAY more than I ever could.

I also like his political advocacy side. Again, I probably won't follow all his recommendations, but he gets people to pay attention in a community that is largely comprised of people who would rather just be left alone and not involve themselves.

I see now, he has the knife for sale on the auction site

LOL, good catch Yote. Yet another reason nit to like the dude. He lacks integrity. But hey, he will sign it for you.

Hello Dogs, I'm late to the party, I got in right in the middle of a bunch of garbage and the briefing I got lasted about 30 seconds, IF THAT! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/17/13 08:29 PM

his integrity is questionable, there has been info about that popping up on the web here n there. he also loves to hear himself talk which is a deal breaker for me a lot of the time. often takes more than half the video to start talking about the actual gear. too bad his negatives out weigh the positives a lot of the time.

not into that whole internet celebrity vibe.

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/17/13 10:25 PM

I've only seen two or three of his videos and even I could spot a few things wrong/that almost anyone could have done better. BUT he is putting stuff in the limelight, so I don't know.

Re: Nutnfancy - 02/18/13 07:06 AM

I wouldn't say I'm sticking with him, I just haven't seen enough of his stuff to really form an opinion.

Hi Bill, how be you and the family?

Haha, trust me Bill, there are SOME A.F. types I wouldn't want to be within a thousand miles of.

I don't watch them because a ten minute review takes home two hours lol
