Question For The Yard

Dogs

I have been working on something special for the Yard. It was inspired from one of our earlier sip & talks.

So I would like to ask what color the blade should be. If we have a concensus then I will make that color only available to the Brotherhood Of The Yard. Obviously it will be priced at a Dog-Eat-Dog price so to speak LOL.

The color choices are Sage, Muddy Brown, Green, White, Orange, Teal or even Black

There is no handle color choice unless its black <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Let me know what you think....this should be interesting and fun

Sage sounds good, and I like the texture of that finish.

Muddy might be acceptable as well as a second choice.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but...... I'd much prefer the option of no-choil rather than coating colors. Just sayin'......

We haven't really seen any black and white or black and orange blades from the Yard--I think they'd be pretty neat.

I would vote for a "raw bar stock" look. I have one that I stripped and it has a subtle crudeness that I love; it has a "like no other" sort of feel. Raw with hamon would be even cooler............

You would really like some of the knives Rich (RN) has then. He's got some really nice "Bare" blades.

I don't really know why, maybe because most of my first blades were not that way, but I DO NOT like mirror polished blades. Satin is the shiniest that I care for.

Something new haven't seen Teal so my choices in order of preference...

polished and satin scratch bit too easy. stonewash seems to hide it nicely.

I say muddy, then Jungle green.

I like the looks of the recent jungle green coatings. Kind of has a pearl look to it.

I was hoping for moss green, I really like the texture of it. Wears good, too.

If we're going noncoated, then I would like to vote AGAINST double cut.

can you do polls with the forum software? that'd make things easier.

My color choice would depend on the size, style, and material of the knife, and what it might be paired up with. But I would like a choice of satin and jungle green.

Trying to remember all of the different blades we've begged for in the past. Kukri, golok, parang, next gen SS4, next gen Muk, Magnum Regulator, MOAD, sword, axe/tomahawk, bushcrafter/puukko, ScrapSquatch, filet knife,.... Some of which we have by now. What on earth could this next one be?!!!

I doubt Dan will go in the Kukri direction. He's already said there's too much steel wasted when the blanks are cut. That would mean they would cost much more.

Darn....well maybe a super regulator then. 11 inches of sharp .275 thick SR77 with regulator handle and muddy coating! Yay! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

While I really want something large.....I'm thinking it will be a small or medium sized blade.....and probably not in SR77, but I can dream.

The 8-11 there was never one in the lineup.

BUT it could be a 1011 or 11. Since we've had a large one though I'm saying 811. Mainly because #1 wants it.

Dang, late to the party again. For whatever it's worth, I REALLY prefer drop points. I dislike clip points. Ended up being why I never could hang on to a Regulator....just to clippy for me. I felt like I needed to be clenching it in my teeth while wearing an eye patch with a parrot on my shoulder and yelling "Aaaaaarrrrr mateys!" while I hoisted the mainsail. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

But that's just my opinion...

I'd prefer either an 8" Yard version of the Chopweiller or an 8" version of the DSF (with a nice War Dog handle....oh boy!)

I asked the Swamp for a Terror Rat-Murky Swamp Fighter, but if Dan wants to put a Dog Fighter into the ring I will not complain.

I think a Son of MOAD would be cooler. 3/16" would be nicer We've already seen that the 13-11 can do almost anything, from being a chopping beast to fine fuzz sticks. If they throw a clip point on it that would be cool as well.

It's been almost 8 months since we've seen anything new from the Yard.

That is pretty wild!
The released knives from the '11 most take up all the capacity.
But we do need something new to need.
