Nice review, nice to see my opinion mirrored by someone more knowlegeable than me.

I wouldn't consider Nut N Fancy more knowledgeble than you Mastiff. The dude is clown shoes.

What has that man ever done to you guys?
This clip is only the second clip I have seen with him, but he seems to be fair and enthusiastic.
Not that he told me something I didn't already know, but it nice to some great blades appreciated.

Watch the EBay he might offer this one up with an autograph just like he did the last one...where's the rolls eyes emoticon???

Seriously, Nut's got respect for his service and his support of our rights, but...

Hey supposedly had a regulator for two years and loved the knife
However he'd did not do a review on it until he put it up on ebay

He also disses ESEE on his reviews after they refused him a special interview at blade a couple years back. He just walked up to their booth unannounced and expected them to stop what they were doing to give him the interview (at least that is how ESEE tells it)

Ok, I get what you mean...
Well, the review here, as it is, seems fine, but I didn't know the backstory.

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/18/13 07:11 PM

The review does put a favorable light on SYKCO knives, which is nice. I see this as an attempt to break into the "knife business" as a sponsor of some type or "recognized expert or something; gotta give him credit for having the courage to try! At least he IS a fellow customer and fellow Dog as well! wink

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/18/13 07:24 PM

He is a you tube star. Not someone who has done anything or whose opinion I value. He is very full of himself and by the Cash he is trying to gen up from a Nut N Fancy pair of gloves on E-bay it tells me a lot about him.

Watching him with a gun makes my skin crawl. The problem is people who don't know better might believe some of his crap on guns.

No arguement Scrapyard knives are great. We already knew that.

The dude just gets on my nerves in a major way. Every time I see someone reference the dude I automatically know nearly everything I need to know about him.

Klink are you saying he is on here as a fellow Dog?

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/18/13 07:48 PM

All things aside, it is just a knife review...
Keeping it at that, it is nice to see the word of Scrap Yard is spread.

Noss beating the snot out of the Scrapper 6, and it taking it, was what attracted me to these killer blades.

I'm not a fan and his "I'm reviewing your knife, You're welcome" is a bit iritating.

But if all this turns more people on to the yard and they buy more knives then maybe Dan can expand the line (hint, hint) or maybe even give Renee a raise (hint, hint)

M/M...yes, he is a fellow Dog. All you have to do is check the "User's List" to see that he joined us in 2011. wink

I AM talking about D-Math! wink

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/18/13 08:26 PM

He did a review on a fake Hinderer from china that included the Hinderer name and said USA. He gave links where to buy it and then took the video down after getting flamed bad.

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/18/13 08:29 PM

I take everything he says with a grain of salt. I don't allways agree with the stuff he says. he always seems truthful about his reviews though. anyway. the guy has something like 300,000 subscribers on youtube. and when he says good things about something ALOT of them will go out and buy it.

Finally watched it, and it was very favorable for Scrap Yard. I'm glad the company is getting some much deserved publicity, and it is sure to boost sales.

Lets all try to be nice. I would hate to see some negative backlash about us in the knife community.

At least he's not doing his mall ninja stuff anymore. Some years back he was pondering things how good the knife was for stabbing someone...
I suppose he's aiming at becoming the Biber of knife world...

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/19/13 02:31 AM

glad to see the exposure for the yard.

say what you want to about the guy but he does put his hands on a lot of gear. if he owns half that stuff then i'll say the guy is putting his money where his mouth is. and with anybody who likes to talk as much as he does is bound to have good and bad fans or there. fact is now a days a fan is a fan. if youre talking about him then his in a better place than if your not. and just like any reporter out there you should look at them as a messenger and not as the message.

take what you can use and leave the rest for others...

and his extra long extra wordie reviews and 110% better than any of the reality tv crap that's on all the time...

NF has all sorts of fans and detractors. He is what he is and you can make your own choice.

Opinions and b-holes. Everyone has one!

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/19/13 03:22 AM

I tend to like his videos. The guy gets out and uses his stuff vs. the kitchen table reviews. I totally agree with his conclusions with the 511 and 711. The only thing I could think of that would improve either one is a bit more handle on the 511. I don't have a 911 but it looks pretty close to my Battle Rat and I absolutely love that knife.

Re: Nutnfancy reviews 911,711, and 511, Hi Marks! - 04/19/13 04:20 AM

I like much of what he puts out. I can only dream of having that much time, money, and health to put together, even a fraction of the outdoor, shooting and knife time he has.

On the regulator, the stated reason for not putting up the review was to make sure he put it through its paces. I do not agree with his opinions on many issues? For one I will not buy knives made in china. It is my hobby and thaat is how I choose to not spend a chunk of the limited funds. He says if iits a well made and functional blade he will buy it from wherever. His opinion on using axes is extremely sophomoric. But I do honestly want to be him a least in the ability to shoot and camp so much.

Dan,
Hahaha I'm not the one that did the review. I'm a little bit more.....Modest? I just saw it on you tube and thought it worthy of sharing with the yard. has there been a spike in sales the last few days though ? laugh

But it doesn't change the fact that he linked his eBay sales thread in his review

I am not one of his supporters or detractors, I find him irrelevant to what I do or like and very rarely do I watch his reviews

It is up to each one of us to decide if his reviews are relevant for us and if we agree with them or not

My original post was to help explain why some on here don't respect his reviews

Hello, I've been looking at the forum for a couple of days and y'all definitely seem like my kind of people. This topic is interesting to me because Nutnfancy is the reason I'm here. Love him or hate him he gets his message out to a lot of people. I watch his videos and make my own decisions. His Scrap Yard video led me to do more research and that led me to order a 911 and a 511. Which look like they are awesome. I can't wait.

Haha. No I'm not the wrestler. My coworkers say I resemble him. I guess I'm a smaller version, which is funny because at 6'6" I've never been called small.

Good idea D-Math I'll do that.
