Sounds like a safe queen type knife, not a user. I'm not interested, but I'm sure many folks will be. Jerry should have no trouble selling these.

I'll wait for the regular version to come out, later.

I'm sure many folks who go after these are solely after the investment value, probably won't see many users out there unfortunately....

There's going to be upwards 600 of these things (300 w/choil and 300 w/o), collector-only seems unlikely. I'm not decided yet. The CG or a regular LE are more my want, but I'm waiting for specs before my final decision.

The chance, the possibility, the window in time that opens ever so briefly and brings with it the opportunity to become a legend, a hero of sorts, an INFI HOG of mythical proportions is rare indeed. . . . .

That opportunity is coming soon…………

Know this my friends, generations of yet to be born, yet to be weaned HOGs and piglets will speak of this day in years to come....... They will cast an envious eye on those who fought at the trough in the summer of 2013.

They will, in child-like wonderment, dream of the glory that will never, nay, can never be theirs. They will bow their heads out of respect for the weak and fallen who did not score on that sweltering summer night.

In years to come, when stories are told by the old and weathered veterans around spit laden campfires, by what will most decidedly prove to be the greatest generation of HOGs in the history of Hogdom, there will be hushed whispers heard throughout the crowd when they hear tell of the gore and carnage that was left in the aftermath of this glorious battle.

Know also, that there will be looks of disbelief etched across the faces of an entire generation when they hear of those who chose not to fight on that fateful night. It will matter not what their reasons be, it will only matter that they couldn’t, or wouldn’t, muster the Porky Mountain oysters necessary to bring their bacon to the battletrough. Their perceived sense of fear or self-preservation will be looked upon with a weary eye and they will most assuredly be labeled as “vegan bacon” or some other tofu based substitute for real Pork!!!!!!

So, prepare my friends............. and bring a bucket for the chitlins and a cooler for the beer, it promises to be a Ganzaaa of historical proportions.

Only 300 Special Limited Edition Clip Ground Anniversary SHBMs of each version (with choil and without choil) will be offered. There will be a regular version without the clip grind offered a bit later as well. But as many of you HOGs know, the "1 of 300" originals are nearly impossibe to find.

Go to the ZDC, page 2436 and scroll down the page. The picture of the knife was posted a couple times.

Jerry said that this is the LBNMSHBM!!!! I guess that means a 11" blade at 21.5 oz.....making it very similar to the 1111 tho its balance is probably way different. Can't wait for the regular LE and the CG version!

I was one of those speculating about a $697 price tag, my best guess anyways.

I'd imagine that the CG comes in around $467 or so with the basic micarta handles.

I've never held a Busse...it may be because of the prohibitive price compared to SY knives.

Yeah, $700 vs $200 is a big difference between 11" blades.

What do you think these things are going to fetch on the secondary market being so limited?

Likely not too much over offering price because there may be 6 versions of the SHBM. This LB swedge point, an LE w/out swedge and a GC...all 3 with and without choil.

Plus it's not just 300 total, it's upwards of 300 each choil and non.

Well, that being said I'll probably just sit this one out. I was considering trying for choilless version, but can't really justify what will likely amount to $650+ for it.

I'm hoping the CG will come in around $400 or so, It wouldn't surprise me. I'm already picturing a sterile, competition finish on black G-10 CG version.....

But as I understand it these special swedge point variants will be the rarest of all the new SHBM offerings...so, over the long-term they may see the highest (I'm not a fan of talking about this type stuff---possible value) increase (proportionally) over the other possible variants.

And, without official word we cannot know how many varieties will ultimately be offered.

Boils down to---if THIS knife is what you want, as it's offered. No guarantee of other versions.

But we were told the CG NMFSH wasn't going to happen, then did.

It makes the head spin.

If "you" like what is offered, get it!

I would love a CG in my halloween theme. Jungle green blade orange and black g10.

If the SHBM is like the AMS release it won't be available in competition finish, just double cut, satin and coated....I would like to see a CF tho

It is pretty fun to take part. Stock up on beer or Scotch, and wait for the GO GO GO post.

A piece of advice is:
Get an e-mail ready, with all the information in it, and the knives you are going for. That way you are all set when it is time, and your chances of scoring are better.
And only send off the e-mail if you are sure it is the real Jerry posting.
