Recently high quality scrap has been tough to come by. Scrap Yard delivers the highest performance to price ratio in the business. A key component is the availability to utilize high quality scrap steel.

With this challenge, I am announcing that the SYKCO 711 is going away...early retirement if you will. I suspect that the knives I have on hand may last for a week…maybe two if we are lucky. When these are gone, they are gone.

If you have ever thought about getting a SYKCO 711 you might want to make a move on this stoic blade.

I will continue to build the highest performing knives at the lowest possible price. The SYKCO 711 is giving up its career so others may continue. I salute the honor of this move and encourage you to recognize an icon that has graced our Yard

Brethren, if you are thinking about a 7-11, do it now while you can. It is a great knife; I have a couple of them myself.

This is a blade I can get behind--a quality blade at a reasonable price. Not quite as nice as the SOD (man that is a sweet little chopper that acts like a much bigger blade) but serviceable Neither blade will be leaving my service

If you don't have one, get one. Unless you are prepared to drop more coin on an SOD, Camp Tramp, Chopweiller or Ratweiller, you will be hard pressed to find a better camp knife--certainly not one for the price.

I agree completely! I really like this for my "one knife" outings.

I loved my sod so with it gone i can see this as a good option. Though i liked my chopwieler even more. They do make good big blades without going into the huge size. I prefer the huge blades but realistically it is this size of blade i use most.

I just got the 1111 and i have been on the look out for a 1311. That is a lot of dough for one month so i might pass on this, maybe...

Of all the knives in the '11 series, I am surprised to this one go.

IMO the 711 is the top choice from that series, and a knife that will stay with me always.

I don't know if it would take the place of my DeRegulator. That's my favorite big knife from the Yard. I even sold my SOD because of the Deregulator

That Regulator is a sweet knife. The handle feels as if it is molded to the palm...that goes for the de-regulator too

I like the 711 since it is a big and a well balanced blade. A good number of active military picked this number up when they went to special training. Clearly it is as popular as other 11 series but for different reasons.

IF I could figure out which blade I could live without I WOULD be picking up a 711. But just like Patty, I can't live without any of them.

Quick question, Dan. When the 711 was first released the grind was described (I think) as ultra convex saber. Does the current stock have that grind, or are they flat saber?

Bye 711 *sniffle* It's a really nice blade. I hope to see something new in that size range pop up soon. Maybe a 6.5 inch long, 3/16" blade? I dunno.

611 ready to be debuted?

Got mine, but with all this talk of knives disappearing and selling out, I finally got around to ordering the 1111. Would not want to miss out on any of the 11 series!

Whew....just got my order in! I was thinking about ordering one for a while, and it would have been soooo disappointing if I missed this by a day or two...geez!

And...it´s gone

I ordered and paid via Paypal (being international), but have not received any notification that a knife has been shipped. Starting to get a bit nervous. I have emailed Renee so fingers crossed there will be good news shortly.

Im in the same boat. I ordered beginning of March and havent heard any thing. I figure I would give them another couple weeks before inquiring.

It wouldn't hurt to contact Renee, but it sounds like you two should be good to go.

I have to admit, I am really fascinated by this whole discussion as to why the 711 was so much more popular than the 911 in these various circles. I say this because I feel like the 911 is the ultimate "if I could have only one main foundation knife" to have a system to build around but I am not in the military and this is based only on my own field tests in the sticks. Yes my 1311 is brutal on brush BUT the 911 still does a great job and is much more nimble and easy to wield for lesser tasks.

I would really enjoy hearing from any of our boys in harms way as to why the 711 is preferred, but I guess this will not be possible and that is a shame.

I would suspect that it's the size and weight difference that makes the 7-11 more popular with our troops. Keep in mind that the Grunts particularly carry a LOT of gear!

I think the 711's popularity: stems from a Kabar fighting knife. its the general purpose do everything knife.

Oh and the 911 as a survival style knife is my idea of perfect. I pair my go bag 911 with a bahco laplander and Mora Bushcraft Black as of now. That system weighs nothing for its capability.

Got my 711 about 20 minutes ago! I will post some pictures of it in a couple days, before use and after. I love it. Great feel in my hands. Looks like a perfect survival/heavy camp chore blade. It fits my spec op sheath great.

I keep a 7-11 on a couple of different pistol belts; it's just right for them. And before someone chimes in, YES, I have a pistol with each belt as well!
