Todd and SkunkHunter meet up.

Things worked out and my wife and I were able to spend the afternoon hanging out with Randy and Patty up in Pigeon Forge. We visited the Smokey Mountain Knife Works and walked around it for a couple of hours, then had dinner at Cracker Barrel. It was a real pleasure to meet Randy and Patty in person.

Sounds like a great day.

I have yet to meet up with any members here. I had the chance to meet up with Ishikawa but it wasn't in the cards.

I have met Todd at Blade, and spoke with Randy on the phone. They are both a couple of cool Dogs!

Let's just say in the ORIGINAL picture Todd could have stared in "My favorite Martian"!

Arnold hands, yeah I like that.

Todd and Susan were both stand up nice folks. PLUS they were willing to drive 200 miles (round trip) out of their way just to meet us. Or was it to see SMKW.

OK, Maybe both. I just wish we would have had longer, but I chickened out and wouldn't drive up to the cabin after dark. Man, that road gives new meaning to the word STEEP! I actually wouldn't leave one day cause it rained and I was afraid of sliding down the mountain. One day several hours after a rain we went back the the truck did spin out twice! 17 Very steep switchbacks. A long wheelbase dually couldn't have made it up there. THAT'S why we got a cabin in the valley for the last 4 nights.

Todd and I could have spent quite a few hours in SMKW. Man I've never seen so many knives in one place in my entire life. They had some nice packs and other "Items" as well. Now if I was Bill gates I'd go back out there and stay for a LONG time, just saying "that, that, that.....", well you get the point.

Patty and I went back a couple days later, Patty saw a few things that we found out were cheaper there than down in Gatlinburg.

While I was there I picked up another knife (got a Mora bushcrafter when Todd and I were there). Got the Mora light My Fire with fire steel built into (and removable from) the handle.

I'm going to team that up with one of the PJ cotton ball fire starting kits DT made for me and put them in the pack. The Wetfire cubes will be in another small (probably the 511 bag) kit with the Bushcrafter Mora.

Oh I also got a Lansky diamond rod that has the carbide blades in one end for severely damaged edges.
