Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk?

Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk? - 03/15/20 11:23 PM

Dogs

Now that the forum is fixed I was thinking of having a Sip & Talk?

For those who have forgotten or did not know of these events I'll give you a recap...
- Bring your favorite drink, any thing will do. FYI, mine will be KY Bourbon on ice and a splash of water.
- I start a Thread called Sip & Talk. The subject is set so everyone can jump in with thoughts and comments. These subjects WILL NOT be political. Its for fun only...I wont even talk bad about Tree Rats or Buckeyes,,,maybe LOL
- Sometimes if the Bourbon is tasting real good I might ask odd trivia questions and give some shop credits away.

That's it...simple and fun

So I was thinking this coming Friday (3/20) around 7:00 PM.

What do you think...would a different day or time be good?

Let me know what you think

Dan

That should work. And maybe DT will be out of quarantine by then.

That's a GREAT idea!!! I will gather that the 7p.m. is EST, so it would be 6p.m. for us folks on CST. wink

Right, bring your illustrations so we can compare notes.
Posted By: SkunkHunter

Re: Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk? - 03/17/20 03:43 AM

SS, just put the Tali-Whacker in a shrink Ray and shrink the blade down to 4 inches preferably but NOTHING MORE than 4.25 inch, with the last 1/4 inch a Choil just for sharpening and Oh probably with full size Mudders! grin And PLEASE offer it in more than black grips. I would buy an LE version with my SYKCO JYD #105 on it and one coated for use.

I KNOW the Army (Our very own Lt. RN) needs one, so what better endorsement than the United States Army do you need!!!

Lets do the Sip & Talk this Friday at 8:30 pm Eastern time. This should allow more Dogs to jump in.

The subject is not the mini taliwaker... man you Dogs know how to pack-up and circle the prey LOL

Instead bring your best story of your first real big-boy or big-girl job and what you bought with the money you earned. Also any Scrap Yard questions that I may answer or not Ha Ha!

I'll post a separate thread for Friday Night and I do have some shop credits in hand...I suspect the Bourbon will be flowing smile

See you then
Dan

Medium, pink inside but NOT bleeding all over the plate. Baked potato, sauteed' mushrooms, and broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower to finish it off along with the wine and a salad.

Once in a blue moon a little store sells whole ribeyes at a good price. I bought one before and took it to my brother's home for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner, and my nephew cut them into two inch thick steaks, then grilled them. Man, were they great!

Re: Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk? - 03/21/20 01:13 AM

No, I sold off my little herd and retired. Now my neighbor rents my pasture and hayfield from me, and we still get to enjoy seeing cattle out there. I LOVE it, and it seems like it's the way folks should live. The coronavirus sheltering in place doesn't really bother us a bit, as it's pretty much the way we live anyway.

Re: Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk? - 03/21/20 01:55 AM

She is a registered massage therapist
This week she had 3 different people that were supposed to be in isolation, try and come in for their appointments.
She said that's enough and has closed for the next 2 weeks.
She has enough in the bank, that if she had to she could stay closed for 2 months
Fingers crossed that it doesn't come to that

GREAT! Dad found it in an old house the Methodist church here in town bought so they could build a larger fellowship hall and enlarge their parking lot. He gave it to me and I asked if it would be OK if I sent it to a friend of mine in Canada. He just laughed and said CANADA! How in the world did you get a friend in Canada. Well I told him about you and he said Sure if he wants it send it to him.

That HAD to be bad. And to happen so close to what should be a happy occasion. If I didn't say so before, you and your whole family have my condolences.

Thanks
My youngest brother found him in bed, called me in.
I stayed with him while Dan went to tell my parents.
He couldn't stay there alone with him so I did.
We wouldn't let my parents come over and we stayed with him for 5 or 6 hours

Re: Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk? - 03/21/20 02:51 AM

Patty and I were with her Dad when he passed. It was hard, but he went easy. My Dad, Patty and I had just stepped out to stretch our legs (we had been in his hospital room for 2 days) and were just on our way back up to his room when they called. He was sleeping and never woke up.

The day before he passed he had Patty and I to get on each side of his bed and hold his hands. He raised our all our hands in the air and Blessed Patty and I. I cried. He said it was customary for a father to bless his oldest son (I am an only child) and he said he wanted to do it for us and him as well. I think he felt blessed that he could do this for us.

Yeah, 20 years in the Air Force and 25 as a small town reserve cop and full time Sheriff's dispatcher. I've seen and heard a lot of things.

BUT this one takes the cake. About a month ago there was a Murder not 300 feet from out house. Two "Kids" broke into a house of an elderly man that had some major medical problems. They Beat and strangled him to death.

Re: Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk? - 03/21/20 03:16 AM

We’re way out in the country, so we wouldn’t do much good calling 911. But I usually have a gun nearby. We don’t have a lot of crime out here anyway

Re: Anybody Up For A SIP & Talk? - 03/21/20 03:23 AM

Yeah the caught them the next day or the one after. It happened about 0500-0530 and they had a suspect that same day and caught him by mid day the next day. Turns out he wasn't in on it, he just helped clean up. So all that he was charged with was trying to get rid of evidence. Funny how it leaves you once you don't need to remember the terms any more.

Cool. Speaking of the BRAIN dead, had to get a couple things a the store today. Went to a Walmart and Schnuchs grocery store in a town with almost 40K population. I have NEVER seen so many empty shelves. Meat, almost all gone. Bread and Toilet paper almost non existent. Milk, VERY low. People were going NUTS!

There were exactly 6 packs of hot dogs left and NO pre packaged bologna. Got a couple packs of hot dogs but didn't need any bologna. We're trying to stock up our new fridge. Man this thing is HUGE compared to our old one. Old one was 18.8 cubes. New one 25.5 cubes. Double French doors with a bottom freezer.

Dan

Sorry Dogs. The internet went down and just came back up. With everything shut down there wasn't a place to go to get on.

Anyway lets do it tonight at 8:30 Eastern
