Mm, I think the WS1020 had a wider blade, spine to edge.

The blade thickness is really only 0.115"? Very nice!!!

Re: What's Next....You Say It's Tomorrow - 06/10/21 09:14 AM

So the blade is as wide as the front of the handle...nice. Bet it looks wider in the pics than it is.

Hey Dan,

could you post a pic of the WS-621 and the WS-1020 side by side...I just checked the specs of the WS-1020 on the forum since I am still on mission in africa and they seem to be just about the same? Just a wider blade?

Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel, at just a quick glance the only apparent difference to my 67 year old eyes SEEMS to be the 1020 has a straight spine whereas this one is a slight drop point. Otherwise they appear the the same length and thickness.

Re: What's Next....You Say It's Tomorrow - 06/12/21 05:09 AM

Thanks Randy!

Even though the drop point is a lot more sexy imo, with all that customs tax and the postage to good ol Germany I can pass on this one without having my heart being broken smile

Well, after TWO DAYS, I think I finally got my Satin yes Dan, SATIN 621 and brown sheath ordered. grin It seems as if I have a different password for ordering than I do for signing onto the site. Frustration level reached 210 degrees before finally dropping to normal levels once I figured out I did have a different password for ordering. Now to just see if it worked. I did get a confirmation e-mail, so we will see.

That's OK Randy, we all understand your confusion due to your age. smile

Re: What's Next....You Say It's Tomorrow - 06/13/21 08:27 PM

Tom, unfortunately I don’t think it is all due to age. I probably drowned a lot of brain cells the 20 years I spent in the Air Force.

This is going to make a nice little bushcraft/woods belt knife, I am excited. I like the blade shape a lot more than the 1020. So can someone answer this for me as I have been a way from this forum for a while, what does the WS stand for?

Re: WS-621Drop Point - 07/23/21 06:51 AM

Congratulations on your retirement.

At the moment, I'm focused on other things (such as our granddaughter, born a few days ago), not photography. I'm mostly taking phone snapshots while I focus on my writing. I'll get back into serious photography, later, but I'm not really interested in doing it for a living, currently.
