I wish you a speedy recovery, Bors. What does a gall bladder do anyway? Will you have no gall left?

Did they give you the bladder to keep? Maybe you could make the stones into decorations for a knife lanyard.

Hope you're better soon, Bors.

Hello Bors. Glad to hear your surgery is behind you. Was it done on an out patient basis?

I had mine out a couple of years ago. Don't let HD's question scare you. You'll still have gaul. You see, the body just asigns gall production to another part of the body. I gave my old bladder to the surgeon and he wears it as a hat.

All the best to you young lad.

Glad to hear you are doing well Bors!

Sounds like as good a time as any for a new knife to appear since you are just relaxing online anyway! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I'm very glad you are doing well, Bors. Please excuse me for asking a stupid question, but I really don't know what a galbladder does. I know a fellow who had his galbladder removed and he was back to work pretty quickly. Sounds like you are doing well.

Vic it's not a stupid question at all.

It stores and reduces bile from the liver then it secretes it into the duodenum when fatty food enters the intestine. When the bile is over processed it can lead to stones (this is what I had). These can block the plumbing resulting in major discomfort.

The wiki link bld522 gives explains it in a lot more detail.

Bors - I'm kinda late here - but I hope you're back and on your feet at this point. Glad to hear that everything went well.

I have a hernia repair once, and it took quite a while to get back to my extra curricular activities.

I hope yours are going well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Re: Surgery - 09/13/07 03:17 AM

Jeepers Bors,

I am glad it went so well... I hear that Gall Stones can be quite painful... as well as kidney stones.

Me I'll stick with the Rolling Stones, they sometimes hurt but I just change the track and it's all better... no surgery.

I have had enough of doctors to last forever Bors and the thought of painful stones really sucks. Thank God all is well and you are safe and sound at home waiting for the next Yard blade to be released.

Peace.
