Despite only posting once since the YKCG release, I still love this place (not that I'm an old-timer - it just feels that way due to the months I spent lurking ). Here are a few pictures that I took today during a snowy trek on a closed logging road in the snow with the family (how's that for a string of prepositional phrases?). DFLE was the knife-of-the-day, but Vic's Vic (an OHT, of course) and an Endura4 were both along for the ride. Unfortunately, all the DF action shots from today (and from last weekend) are too lousy to post. That means all we have are these...

Nope. That's my hunting poodle. She's four now and had a great season. This year she started pointing rather than flushing when the birds held tight. I think posted this shot in a thread last fall, but here's to her versatility: 3 mallards, 3 teal, 3 quail, 2 roosters... flushed/pointed/retrieved as appropriate:

A few weeks ago, we had much luck again:

Perhaps I should cross-post to the "other dogs" thread. Let's see if I can figure that out.

Looks like you had a great hike in a winter wonderland, and congrats on such a lovely family.

Most people don't know that standard poodles were hunting dogs. The curly hair was so they could go in cold water. The minis are inbred little monsters who's owners don't bother to train them but it is not really fair to paint the standards with the same brush.
