What date range is the "second batch"

Woo hoo! Got dinged on the credit card (either that or someone charged about $135 that I don't know about)! It's been a good day! I got decent passing grades in my school and now I know that my tan SOD will be on its way soon!

I'm just guessing but I bet there is going to be several batches go out of the yard on the cg models. I would say if you didn't get your order down in October- I bet it is after Christmas before you see anything. With a knife this nice and popular ( great price too) - they had to have had MANY orders and then another BUNCH come in after Renee called " last call" .The hard part is the waiting- the really great part is we KNOW they will take care of us and we get to see what we are getting !! A " win- win" deal all around. PLUS- maybe they will put up the new release and we will do it again ? Sounds like fun to me. Renee thanks for the update!! I needed to know that I'll be getting my two babies soon...an LE and a CG!!! I got my CG order in on Oct. 19th so hopefully I'll be in the second batch. Woohoooo!

Mine was in the low to mid XXXX range, and I ordered it the Monday after they became available, about 2-3 days in, I think it came up for order on a Friday or Saturday.

Nope, it's just like anything else, they have to get the bugs worked out. By the time they get to the second round of production, they have it all figured out. First batch is pretty much a trial run and therefore useless.

Never want to buy the first year model of a car, remember?

As far as how many batches there is going to be, I cannot give out that information. When the production floor gets done with a quantity of knives they let me know and we begin to charge and ship those knives.
As far as the Canada orders and the LE's, the LE's are getting closer and will ship in the next few weeks. If you are from overseas and have a LE and a combat grade, your knives will ship together when the LE is ready. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Will mine be shipped according to order number as US orders are, or will the
Canadian orders be treated according to a different schedule?

I'm sorry, FuGaWee, but they'll have to be sent to Canada for temperature tests. There have been rumours that the first run of SODs shatter at Sub-zero climates. As such, all SODs are to be sent to my address ASAP for testing to ensure this is not the case!

No- no..............you guys need send them to the Oregon Coast to test for RUST. Yes......rust is the major flaw in this first defective batch and can ONLY be tested and cured here in Oregon. Just wrap em up and ship them directly to ME. I promise NOT to send them back. I will coat them with ren wax and put them in a safe vault. I will even take them out for walks & chops. I can't make any promises but I do think that the combat grade SOD's should ship out before christmas. Well, my deer knife, a Gen2 Howler is almost more Dog now than Rat, but I can't abandon my roots just yet. So far the two are getting along, time will tell though.

The edge is actually more polished now than it shows above, it had dressed 8-10 deer in the last two years since that pic was taken. The first year, it had the factory edge and did okay, but desperately needed thinning.

This is about as good as I can do for now on pics, I'll try to get some with the two cousins together sometime.

I received my tans, and got a charge on the black SoDs a few days ago, but they haven't arrived yet. They were probably delayed by the ice storm, but I'll be surprised if they don't arrive tomorrow. I normally receive packages from Ohio in two days, and it's been five, plus USPS normally does a big push to deliver packages for Christmas.

I didn't get emails, they just sent the knives. I did receive a PM from Renee on a different matter, during which I also asked about LE #60 -- she said that it had already been allocated to someone else (heavy sigh) -- I'll still get one, just not in my JYD#. I should have decided to order sooner.

Hey Jim- I wonder how many LEs were ordered ? I put my order for those in late too so little chance I can help. If I did happen to get a number that someone else wants- no biggie to me- you can swap it out. Doubtful- but ya never know <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I'd like to eventually post the best ones on a page with thumbnails linked to full res so if anyone wants some knife wallpaper they can easily have copies if they wish. Also it shows the detail better. Shrinking it down for photobucket makes them so grainy and crappy.
