How's the thickness?

Sweet! I'm hoping for a special delivery this afternoon some time. Are we all going to start our own threads for pics when they arrive, or should we all use the same thread? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Thickness is jsut over an 1/8 and just under 3/16. I don't have a way to give you a more precise measurement here.

The edge is about the same as the SOD came. Better than I can get it by hand but nowhere close to a HD edge. Still very usable.

Based on the BDLE and Mud Puppy it feels better than I expected (not that the MP and BD feel bad). I will need to use it on a couple of outings but it has a good chance of giving my Ratmandu a run for my favorite 5" knife.

Keep in mind I have everything shipped to the office and my mail runs before 9:00am most days. I'm sure almost everyone will hae there knives in the next day or two.

Got mine today. First impressions are it's a bit smaller than expected. Feels great in hand, good balance. The edge is thicker than I keep my knives (Compare the S5's to the edge on my MP <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> )but it came shaving sharp, which is exactly what I expect from Scrapyard. The handle colors and blade finishes turned out real nice. I knew I'd love the handle because my MP is one of my favorite knives. Plan to keep the green handled one and sell the black. Ordered the two color combos I thought I'd like best so I'd have a choice as to which to keep.

kinda funny with this one, every blade I have ever ordered I have always taken my time paying for out of need, I would get jealous as hell as everyone would have their new knives before me posting pics etc, well this time I did it differently, I ordered really early and paid in full and am still waiting.... oh well, such is life. If it doesn't show then I will gladly accept your invite to the club, you know what also sucks though is in my recent move I lost my camera, that pissed me off damnit. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

First Impressions.
I like it a lot! It feels great in the hands due to the mudder handles. The blade finish is smooth and even. Feels quick with a nice balance right about the center of the knife. Choil is a bit wierd since it's squared rather than the half circle I'm used to. Edge had a relatively even grind and was shaving sharp. (Although it could definitely benefit from a bit more polish.)

Overall I'm very satisfied with it. I ordered it with black res-c mudders and a tanker gray finish. Have to get some kydex made for it since I think it would conceal nicely under a t-shirt in appendix carry position.

Oh man....I'm so glad I got the tanker/black combo. That's a sexy beat of a knife. I also like how the Brown Mudders looks...can't wait to see what it looks like with the Green blade.

I only bought one scrapper 5. Wish I had bought a few more now that I see how nice they turned out.

I think I would've rather lost my camera than having the LCD crap-out on me like it did the other night.
Now I have to actually look through the viewfinder lens to snap a photo. I paid $600.00 for the technology so I WOULDN'T have to press the thing against my face. It's also only 1 month past warranty too.
Maybe I'll jab it with the S5 when they get here. LOL

Hi All, Just got in and there was the Priority box...."YES" I said as I backed up the driveway. My first Scrappers and they are minty fresh!
I did a comparison with the Ratmandu and SAR4. The Mudders are awesome, never felt them before, me likes alot.

You'll probably have no trouble passing the SoD along, but I've got to ask why don't you plan to keep it?


I took my dog to the vet today for her annual checkup; I said that she seemed a bit off of her appetite and that
she'd been acting constipated lately. They them talked me into almost $250 worth of tests and meds (and I'm
supposed to take her back in a couple weeks for the the shots I actually took a half day off for today). They
"gave" me a weeks worth of special dog food (and charged me over $2 per can for it). I also had to buy Pepcid
AC for her and have to try to figure out how to get her to take that and two other meds -- even if I was
allowed to give her hot dog pieces, which I'm not, she's always chewed carefully and spits out any pills.

Anyway, as I was pulling into my driveway after the vet visit, the postman was pulling away. I had a pick-up
notice, and made a dash to the post office -- they allowed me to pick the Scrap Yard package up from the loading
dock rather than having to come back when the front office was open in the morning. I also received a
package from Jeff, which I still need to open -- I may well be posting about that next.

I was tempted to sell my SoD, because I've been seeing them listed for in the neighborhood of 200 bucks on BF, and that kind of money is hard to resist.

Instead I put a convex edge on that sucker and used it to split wood for my 4th of July BBQ <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

The knives look great! Thanks to everyone who upped pics. I'm on vacation right now and won't know if mine arrived for another week or so, but I can't wait to get home and find out!

Seriously it is not that small. I cant stop holding mine....one in each hand.
My wife always comes in and say's "will you put those knives down" or "Will you stop twirling those knives" ...I love it.
With this square choil I can choke up on the blade up to my index finger knuckle, I also like it to a trigger with thumb on the ramp and index tip on the hook of the choil, well thought out Scrap Yard.
The guy that bought a dozen is the S5 Pimp daddy of the yard.
I have to say if I had more room on the card I would have bought two more. These S5's are totally awesome and are going to be hit.

Here's a comparison of a RMD and my new S5. I love them both. The S5 doesn't have the heft of the RMD or the great balance. However it's lighter and has those great mudder grips. Time will tell which I will use the most.

Got mine from the mailbox yesterday. Great knife! Mudder handles feel great, the size is just right and I'm now a fan of SR101. Spent most of last night stropping it to a razor's edge.

that is a good picture, it looks alot closer in size to the RMD in this pic than the previous ones. Obviously it is going to feel different in hand but still this one may be a good user.

Finally, my muddy handles/gray blade S5 is here! The wait was long, but it was well worth it.











I LOVE this knife. Perfect size, feels light in my hands (especially compared to the DMCG), choil isn't as big as I'd imagine (good thing), and love the mudder handles. I just need to work on the edge a bit and it's good to go.

I think I'd go black for the LE. I've always wanted a Bog Dog...and they seem hard to find, so I can get something close to it if the do come out with the LE.

I don't think I will get a LE but then again I don't really know.

I wasn't planning on it, but I really like this knife...

I might just to jump in the bandwagon but only time will tell.

Mine is the black/grey one on the bottom. I get it Saturday.

I thought the black/gray would be my favorite, but now that I have them, it's tough to choose.

I will probably go with black in the LE version but only if it's in INFI.

I can't decide between black/grey and lime green/ grey.

Great looking bunch of knives! Congrats on the S5.

Did a little sharpening today, needs a little more work towards the tip, but that should work itself out the next sharpening. I'll probably take the grind higher in the future.

Nice! I need to get belts for my belt sander so I can get crackin on sharpening all these knives.

Re the LE colours - people have been talking about choosing a colour for the LEs.
But aren't the LE's usually satin or DC?

Isn't Satin/DC the usual distinguishing feature about an LE?

Though if Dan manages to persuade Jerry, I reckon INFI will be a nice distinguishing feature for the S5LE!

Yeah I miss him, Well HD and rainwalker.

I saw HD on this moring after I posted that so he's back. I know why Rainwalker isn't on. He's 3+ months behind and trying to play catch up. With the S5's shipping I don't think he'll catch up anytime soon. That's OK his work is worth the wait.

I'm sure HD is testing the daylights out of the Killa Zilla and Regulator. I'm sure we'll be getting lots of reviews from him as soon as Jerry and Dan give him the ok to post them.

None the less I miss their presence.

Ok, I'm In with a couple of pics my wife took Friday at Duck Creek (the main fishing pool is 1800 acres)!!!

First in a sheath I made years ago, just two pieces of 1/8 inch wood rubber cemented to a peice of cut up boot leather and stitched with flat 1/8 inch wide nylon line.



And here he is, in all his glory MY Kermit the Frog (mossy/green donchaknow)
