WAKI time - 07/24/09 09:14 PM

Waiting…….waiting…….waiting……..

OK, my mail usually shows up at the office around 9:00am. I can’t get anything done because I keep looking out the window every 5 minutes for the mailman. There is a good chance my Waki will come today. I sure hope it does. That will save me a trip into the office tomorrow to check the mail……9:30am no mailman……….10:00am no mailman……10:30am no mailman……..11:00am no mailman………FINALLY!! 11:15am here’s the mailman and he has a strange shaped

Now if I just had something better than a letter opener to open it.

Finally got the thing open. Now to read the newpaper they included. You believe I took time to read the paper right?

Sticking your hand down in a box with sharp pointy things is probably not a good idea.

This is the lightest sword I’ve ever held.

No wonder it was so light, no sword. Better check the box again.
[Linked Image from farm4.static.flickr.com] Good it was still in the box. Too bad this thing will have to be put on the shelf for a while. I need to get started testing the Regulator so I can report details to Dan.

I ordered a Black blade/Black Micarta handle. The handle actually looks more green to me than black which is really cool because I really like the color combo

Black micarta always looks greenish/grayish but usually can darken with use. I've heard that applying mineral oil to it will darken it up nicely.

Nice combo - Same one I got! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Re: WAKI time - 07/24/09 09:50 PM

In one of Eric's post he mentioned the Half moon pommel was there for a reason. I assume it is an attachment of some kind. Be interesting to see what it is.

Maybe a clamp that it fits so you can attach it to the front of your bicycle? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I wish all of the Bussekin blades would come this sharp from the factory <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Congrats! I'm still waiting. And I, too, am a little anxious to see what the half-moon pommel is all about.

Re: WAKI time - 07/25/09 06:05 AM

jackell,
Awesome deal getting the Waki. I hate it when the mail runs later than normal LOL. I had my Waki over at a friends gun store yesterday and one of the guys that works there ordered a Waki yesterday afternoon after playing with mine. I think he has been turned on to the Bussekin by me showing and telling. Now, he needs to quite lurking and join us here.............................Hey, I know you are reading this so I am challenging you to join, you know who you are!

Re: WAKI time - 07/25/09 06:07 AM

I wonder what the attachment holes are for too? Could it be an attachment to make the Waki into a fighting spear? I know HD has already stuck his Waki in a tree.

Re: WAKI time - 07/27/09 03:44 PM

So after handling the Waki all weekend I have two questions for my fellow dogs.
1. What is the overall length and blade length of the AK-47 and Ruck? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
2. Anyone else have the erge to go take sword fighting lessons? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

That's EXACTLY what I thought. But I can't quite picture them selling spear shafts. Then I wondered about an attachment to connect two of them into a double sword. No, I can't picture them selling that, either. Maybe an attachment point for a basket hilt? No, too long a handle for that to look right.

I'm stumped.

They should have a contest...let people guess what it's for, whoever guesses closest wins one of whatever it is... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
