Highest number on S5 LE

I wonder what the highest number is on the S5LE?

I seen one was # 299.

I guess that number would be a indication of how many of these were produced.

Who got one in the 300's or higher than that?

I have 595 which is my badge number

Wow...595, so they made a bunch of these little knives.

Actually, as far as I know, no one has ever actually confirmed that the knives are actually numbered sequentially. That type of information is a closely guarded secret.

I do love this knife, it is awesome, but the combat grade is still sweet!!!
The S5 is just a great design...a classic.

I'm thinking there were a boatload of these made too. They are still shipping them out. I ordered a second one right before ordering closed, so I'm guessing its going to be a really high number.

I agree, I ordered mine on the 18th of Aug. and still haven't been charged or notified.

I'm sure we will see some really high numbers on these last couple of batches

just got # 659

to be honest this one has slightly disappointed me compared to my #171 &#172

the spine has some very noticeable grind marks where it wasnt completely "satin-ized"?

also, like my number 171, the grinding done to shape the thumb ramp is imperfect and the edges have been slightly rounded off. and theres also a small dark blotch on the thumbramp itself. And its definitely not as sharp as the others ive got, it has trouble slicing through paper smoothly.

this may be a bit picky but i definitely noticed the differences compared to the first batch.

meh, maybe the fact she isnt perfect is a sign for me to make her my beater.
My #172 is absolutely perfect so maybe she'll be the queen.

anyways, post up your numbers! as far as i know ive got the highest number posted so far. And if youve got # 666 id like to trade for it...THATS what i wanted to beat on!

I got 84 and 100 they are both the sharpest Bussekin I have ever held in my hand out of the factory.

#662 arrived today. It's not as sharp as expected. That's o.k. because I do enjoy sharpening knives. Can't wait to give it some field use!

Working on the edge a little. Once I get a little better with my new belt sander and finally get my new belts from Tru Grit I may try my hand at polishing the blade. I have been messing with old tools made from heavy metals all day. The S5LE feels light.

Some really high numbers here, bet with that last batch shipping wouldn't be surprised if we see them in the 700's.

I got #680 today. Beautiful knife, feels great in the hand, BUT was very dissapointed in the sharpening...no where near what I expected.

Yea,you would think they would do a better job of sharpening on an le.They must be in a hury to get to the next release.

i guess but that shouldnt be an excuse...my 171 and 172 are sharp as hell. My CG is a lightsaber.

i was dissapointed in the third one i got.

All of mine were really sharp.

My CG could cut atoms. lol

My LE is sharp, but not like the CG.

My S5LE could barely cut butter...I have bought $20 knives that had a better edge. Not what I was expecting from a top of the line knife.

fiddling with a sheath i had just received, i was testing it for retention by holding the sheath upside down while shaking it....problem though is i made a dumb mistake and did it with the edge facing my hand (if it fell out)

well. it indeed did on my third shake.

i didnt even know i was cut until i saw the blood drops on my bedsheet.
it didnt hurt at all i was kinda scared, lol

such a clean slice i dont even have a scar to prove it lol

If you aren't happy with the sharpness of your S5LE, contact Renee - I'm sure the company will take care of it right quick.

My guess is that there were about 700 - 750 max of the S5LE made. I ordered on the 2nd to the last day, and got # 664. The sales were open about 48 hours after I ordered my last one.

700? that's alot of shiney steel out there.

You can always ask when ordering too, I believe they will sharpen it how you want. Otherwise you get the factory edge, which can take more abuse.

My guess there are numbers in the 700's.
