On another thread, Eric says to not hold your breath for a Waki LE. That could mean there is another blade coming out before it or the satinizing of such a large blade is cost prohibitive and it has been delayed or cancelled. I prefer to think positively and that it will be available soon.

I remember when the Rat Daddy LE came out, and Eric said they'd NEVER again make an LE that long, as it was too time consuming...

Soooo, if you will only going to buy one or the other, not both, which would be the way to go: Waki or Bushwhacker Mistress? I'd lean toward the BWM, although I already own several other swords, including a Busse Combat AK47.

I'd go with the bushwaker - the waki is a cool toy, but I will use the bushwaker more regularly. I don't feel too weird pulling out a large bowie/machete at a campsite to chop some wood, but I got some crazy weird looks when I whipped out the waki and went to town on a couple of logs a few weekends ago <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I agree with MM on the statement that the BW would be more sensible but the Waki is too cool. How long have they been out now, a long time so there will be more than a few show up on the secondary market--and probably not much more than they were from the store. Right now with the economic situation and the amount of steel being produced I don't see the high prices the secondary market used to fetch.

Here's hoping for the Waki LE. But that BW is very cool...just need to decide on quantity and colors.

I would absolutely love to get one but man I just don't the cash. They are fun looking though.

I looked at the Waki again, and (it being a new credit card billing cycle), I could get one or two, but I just can't convince myself to pull the trigger on them. I'm still not even sure I'll go for any BWMs, although I'm leaning that way.

I bought one that was ready to ship (black g-10/moss green). And pre-ordered an artic whte one w/ black/red g-10. This was several months ago and I have yet to hear anything on the white Waki. Is that normal to take that long?

Funny, same thing I was thinking, but just can't justify getting another one of these considerings I will never use the first.

I placed an order back in July--got a confirmation, but haven't heard anything since. Emailed Eric two weeks ago and haven't heard from him either. I hope I get one...

What would one of those be worth? The regular AK's bring 8 or 9 hundred don't they?

The CG AK's sold for a little under $600 new from the store. IIRC the satin finish Ganza ones went for around $900. I have around $1000 in mine including the sheath.

Thanks for the great info. I found one for $1500 w/ sheath and thought that was a bit high. Doubt I can talk him down to $1000-1100 though. I'd love to have that blade!
