Hmmm... I'm a bit on the fence for this one. I was part of the TT, but I admit that I didn't do much with the knife. I'm not sure why, but there's something about it that leaves me on the fence. I'll have to review the specs of the new Regulator and decide if I'd prefer that over the TT that I have. We'll see I guess.

I think the Mil overrun and the production reg are going to be the same spec wise, Mil run being sterile maybe and only in black/black. maybe the production reg will have other color options

Hmmm... after sleeping on the decision of whether or not to take advantage of the Test Team deal, I decided that I should! Worst case scenario is that I don't like it as much as the Test Team and I sell it after a year has past simply to repay the cost of it. Why are knives such an addiction! Noooooooooooooooooooo! Come to think of it, my Test Team Regulator was the last Scrap Yard I bought straight from the Yard. It has been a while!

Being a test team member I see this as better then the Dumpster Mutt deal. Given the difference in exchange rates I think the reg with actually cost me less then the DM did.
I know I will buy 1 and a sheath, and a sheath for my TT reg, but if I can swing it I will buy 2 with sheaths.

This is a great deal,even at 119.00!
Cutting a deal at 89 + 10 is unbelievable.
Probably not much of a profit for the Yard at that price.
Buying a limit (3) and hocking them on fleabay
wouldnt be fair to Dan. I think thats the spirit of his message.
If your gonna stock up and scalp them later,dont
do it at Dans expense.

Thanks, Dan. So based on the data MM provided, a Military Regulator and a SoD weigh almost exactly the same and they're both between 1.25 oz and 1.5 oz heavier than a TT Regulator. I assume all of that additional weight went to the blade end of the knife as a result of changing the blade grind. In addition to your previous comments, that might also help explain why the Military Regulator is a better chopper than the TT Regulator.[/quote]

I commented the other day that I felt, without using a scale, that my TT Reg was not only lighter but balanced differently than the SOD. The TT is a 'Fighter!' Now I'm going to pic up two or three Mil Regs and use one for a chopper and gift the others. This is blade nirvana!!!

I discovered SY knives right before the Scrapper 5 release, and have been been addicted since my two Scrappers arrived. My Regulators will fit nicely between my Scrapper 5's and Dog Father.

I just had a thought, I'm going to buy 3, 2 for me and I'm going to give one back to Dan to donate to someone that is on active combat duty, and may not be able to buy one. I don't know if Dan has a program for something like that but I'm going to find out. I know that I have not done enough to thank our service men and women for their sacrifice.

How do we send ID along with our orders. I assume my firefighter certificate will suffice. We dont really have an ID or a badge.

For CA, we're really on a time budget. Starting Feb. 2011, no more handgun ammo can be ordered online, unless it gets vetoed, but this late in the game it's going to be a battle. I finished school last year and finally got a good job and I start this March, I can finally get a serious collection going.

I'm going to keep my handgun caliber real simple, 9mm and maybe .45 because I really want a fullsize 1911, but I am in the market for a few 9mm 1911.

Since online ordering of rifle/shotgun ammo is still okay, I'm going to focus on 7.62x39, .308 win, .22lr/.22mag, and different shotgun ammo.

I have one question. I know I need ID to order and get the discount when they are released but this would be my first purchase and What all do I need? 3 copies of ID? Can anyone give me alil more info so I make sure Im ready when these bad boys are released. Dont wanna miss out on this one.

You won't miss out. They make as many as they need to fill the orders. As long as you order before the deadline, that is.

As far as ID, you only need it if you are taking advantage of the Mil/LEO discount. The details are on the first post of this thread. Any other necessary info will be posted soon enough.

The wife and I just loafed around all day. Went on a road trip for some groceries and wound up being gone about 9 hours. First time we've been out after dark together in quite a while.

My wife and I were by our old house (just actoss the field) scrounging through old stuff) and burning some debris outside. It just felt good to be outside and together, and our dogs liked it too. Some things are missing from that orginal transfer and the techs are trying to figure out what piece to the puzzle are missing. There is plenty of steel to go around...you should be solid if you get in on the first few days if not even longer. I really ran the production on those mil. reg's

At .33" thick, the Regulator should be tough on the FFFBM level, only the handle won't come off.
