I just posted this in another thread, but it applies to this one too:
... I'm glad that I went with the Deregulator version -- I don't think my thumb would like that upper ramp unless I held the knife like a hammer. Also, while it's a matter of personal preference, I like the S6 through Dog Father's handles better, although I imagine folks with larger hands may prefer this one. Even so, I don't dislike the grips -- they just don't feel quite as natural as the others (to me). Finally, as thick as the blade is, I expected it to feel like a monster; it's not nearly as blade-heavy as I expected, and is actually quite nimble (probably due to how much the Bowie-style blade width narrows toward the tip). Overall, this release was a heck of a knife and an outstanding deal; Great job!!
I'm sure that it was a military specification, but I didn't care for the "jump ready" double-snap-loops. First thing I did was carefully cut the bottom loop from one of my sheaths. Still, as Dan noted:
This is a lot of sheath for the money at $24.95 it is insane at 10 bucks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I suspect that anyone who misses out on this release
WILL regret it, and as thick as these knives are, you'll want one of the sheaths that are made for it; at +$10, it's too good an to option to skip, even if only to have a spare. Paul, I can't guarantee it, but suspect you may change your mind about your Regs/Deregs once you get a chance to hold one (or are you referring to having two sheaths you won't want)?
