Zombie Hat

Zombie Hat - 04/05/10 05:23 AM

I have been meaning to post my experiance with Real Deal Brazil for some time.

I ordered two RDB hats at the end of 2009 and used a coupon to get the second one at half price. Well I screwed up and my coupon didn't go through. I called and they honored the coupon and credited my account. After ordering I waited past the average delivery time and they didn't show up (I wasn't to worried because of the holidays). But I sent an email off checking the status anyway. I received a quick response and it turns out I entered the wrong shipping address. The hats hadn't been returned yet but the Customer Service gal sent me a new shipment out right away. When I got the hats I couldn't be happier, they were high quality and fit well. I blew it twice on this order and Real Deal Brazil came through. I want to let everyone know this is a top notch product with great costomer service. They look really nice with Bussekin blades too!

Those hats are so cool. I think you just convinced me to get one. It's always a huge plus when a company has top notch customer service.

The large was bigger for me then I thought, so I exchanged it for a medium ($2.50 for return shipping), it came very quick. Great hat, can't wait for it to get more sunny so I can wear it more.

so what size should i get? i dont have a super huge head. i would say i have a medium size. so would the medium be good for me? or do their sizes run small or big?

Use their measurements mine fit great

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/05/10 08:16 AM

That's a really tough call since everyone has difference shaped heads. When I measured my head with a piece of paracord,I was in between a 22" (med) and 23" (lrg). I went with the large in case and it did fit but strong winds would definitely knock it off. I plan to wear it to the beach and hikes and that can get windy, so I exchanged it for a medium, perfect fit for my head.

Did you play football? I was a green helmet if that helps, haha.

Agreed, it's safe go with their measurements. I was in between and they both fit but I liked it a bit more snug.

I would also recommend this hat, I bought one last year and use it every time I visit our property in North Georgia.

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/06/10 12:03 PM

Great hat, if your measurement is in between I would suggest the bigger size. Mine is L and fits great, my son has a medium and it would'be been too tight.

PK, I have one too. They are great. When you order, I've heard that you can request a darker color. I think the darker ones look a little bit better.

Great pics there, looks like your boys are happy guys in the outdoors!

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/12/10 07:56 PM

Thanks Sumo. Yeah, they love the outdoors. We spend as much time outside as possible. Isaac, my oldest loves going on hikes.

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/12/10 08:04 PM

Kuanomar, do you live in Oregon or were you just visiting?
Posted By: kuanomar

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/12/10 08:22 PM

We were just visiting. We would go to Warm Springs when I was a kid. It's a great place. But, I live in Central Washington. Just outside of Yakima on the Yakama Reservation. Perfect place for those who love the outdoors.

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/12/10 08:44 PM

Can someone show me the inside? The 'head band' and such. I think that might give a better idea about the size needed. Also, do they stretch at all?
I measured my head with some paracord and came up with 23" which (according to the RDB size chart) makes me a large BUT I don't want wind blowing it off. If I go medium am I gonna be able to get it on?

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/13/10 12:02 AM

Thanks kuanomar! GREAT pic. Exactly what I wanted. Doesn't look like it'll stretch much. Think my big head's gonna need the large. Again, thanks fo ra speedy reply.

Sig,

Thanks, they do grow up fast. That's why I'm blessed to work from home. I get to spend a ton of time with them. AND I have another boy on the way.

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/13/10 05:09 AM

Do you find that the RDB hats stretch at all kuanomar? It doesn'l LOOK like they would BUT looks can be deceiving.
Posted By: kuanomar

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/13/10 05:16 AM

Yeah, there some stretch. It's not stiff like a Filson.
Posted By: kuanomar

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/13/10 05:17 AM

Whoops, I take that back. It feels like it stretches because of the elastic on the inside. That outside does not stretch.
Posted By: stjones

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/13/10 05:37 AM

Oh. Good to know. Thanks. I think I'm gonna stick with the large and send it back if need be.
Actually, I think I will get BOTH Lg and Med and sell which eva doesn't fit. Now I'm thinking clear. Maybe someone will wanna partial trade for a blade? Never know.

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/22/10 03:54 AM

I ended up putting some filson wax on mine. It changed the color slightly. It's a little darker. But, now I think it's more water resistant.
Posted By: Ishikawa

Re: Zombie Hat - 04/22/10 06:15 AM

Yep...my head measured close to 23 3/4" or so with a piece of string. So, I ordered the XL size and everything worked out great. The elastic band inside actually makes it a good snug fit.

It's strange reading back....i know I posted they didn't have any bigguns. Then I went back like two days later and they had it posted for sale, with a delivery expected 05/10/10....so I ordered it. Got it today....seems things work out sometimes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
