Busse Gladius?

Who else thinks the Busse Gladius is sweet?

I didn't think I would like something like that, but to my surprise, I really like it! In terms of Busse knives, I'm really digging that and the Basic 11.

Can't wait to see the prices for all these new knives already! Want to know what I can and can't afford, so I can stop dreaming, haha.

That Gladius is pretty freakin sweet! I wouldn't mind having one. But I guess, like you, I'll just have to wait and see how much they will cost!

It's gorgeous, but when I get in that price-range...I start thinking about bringing a new gun to the knife fight. I just can't justify those purchases...can't wait till I can though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Sweet looking knife, but probably way out of my price range

With the economy, I think Jerry is pushing to sell. I mean look at all the new knives, and the supposedly new business model to come. I'm hoping the CG Gladius will be within my reach...we'll see. If not though, I still have the SY SCIZZY and Basic 11 to look forward to.

The only one I can see myself using is the Basic 11 and my Dog Fathers and BWM take care of that gap. Nice looking knives- I have the $$$- just can't see myself with them strapped to my pack. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> I was kinda hoping for a small SY Bush knife <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />. I will actually use that type of knife. Very cool looking though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I am confident that it's coming. Especially since Dan hinted that using this type of handle would enable smaller production runs and other designs not previously available. I want a SYKCO TM (or version thereof) with the wrap handle <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

So, how much they cost??? I can't see from Eric's photos, but they look very cool in hand!

I tried zooming in, and it look like $997.00 for show price and $1297.00 reg. Hopefully that is closer to the real price or there is no way I can do that.

That is a big difference in price just for satin or is there more to it. Thicker steel? Longer blade? Better temp?

Mostly hand detailing. A lot of work goes into those. The price will be more after Blade remember.

That's the standard mark-down, as I recall.

As I heard it, those are Blade first-day only prices; afterward, the satin is supposed to be $1897. I'm down for a custom shop gladius with green linen handles.

I think they are amazing blades but not sure what I would use one for. I wonder if it is more of a collectors piece.

Just a fun tool to smash things with. The occasional yard work, or to check out the odd noise in the middle of the night.

I'll see what happens, but I was lying in bed with my Waki last night. I love the way it feels. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Even if I never get a Gladius, I'm still very happy with my Waki.

Well...the Waki and the SY SCIZZY thingy are both made and priced to be used.

I'm really interested to see how they compare to each other weight and length wise.

I would love to see what I can do with it. Plus, I am just a sucker for a cool looking sword.

You guys may have not seen my older threads, but we use to do Busse meets here quite often. I think the Gladius would compete nicely, just gotta be extra careful with the double edge.
