who has their scrapzashis?

Very happy with this one. My wife said it was a "very handsome blade".

I'm still daydreaming about ordering a Zashi...ordering an extra Reg Handle (if Dan would sell me one)....grinding down the Zashi handle to the Regulator profile, and slipping the Reg Handle on for a mean little Ruck'ish Zashi. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

can anyone tell me if they offered the different colors at blade for the handle wrap or is black/black it?

They did, red, blue, yellow a few others

Res-c also can't handle the twisting and torque a blade the length of the skizzy would put on the handle

What makes you think that?

that's what Dan told us at blade, he said they tried to and tested several different resc handles but they twist to much, I guess they just don't work on a blade that length

Thanks for posting Lexie's pic. The color is actually purple (no blue at this time) and olive green is also one of the colors

Well, I picked mine up at the PO this morning on my day off, and I hate to say it but I'm a bit disappointed in the quality control. At the beginning of the wrapped handle portion there are white marks. Very noticeable on the logo side not as much on the other side but still some discoloration.

Very interesting. As I understand it, the handle isn't covered under warranty. I wonder how Dan will respond to this?

I don't know, Jim. Knowing that the Scrapizashi handle isn't covered under warranty, I'd be reluctant to put a solvent anywhere near it. But that's just me.

I'm doing a ratweiler first with smooth micarta and smooth bolts, then I may move on to the skizzy depending on if I dislike the wrap, I will probally satin it either way

I guess my feeling where the handle is concerned is that, if I'm actually going to buy a Scrapizashi to use rather than just hang on a wall, I should add the cost of rehandling it to its overall purchase price. After all, there's a reason why a manufacturer with the stature of the Bussekin won't warranty an aspect of one of its products. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time that's ever happened.

Adding the $50 rehandle cost (plus shipping) to the price of the Scrapizashi puts me in Waki territory. If I spend a few more dollars and buy the Waki, I get the famous Busse stem-to-stern warranty. So I don't have to worry about using it. And I get a better alloy in the process.

That's just my thinking, of course. YMMV.
