Thanks for making us a sword Big Dog, got one on order. Now can you look into the crystal dog bowl and see if any of these-------> bolo, kukri, panga,Parang, golok, and a bowie may be in the not so distant future. Anyway some ideas I thought I would throw out to see what the masses would like. Keep up the good work Big Dog and thanks for listening to the howls of the yard.

You can be sure their competitors would, too. It is proprietary. It's what makes a Scrapper a Scrapper.

Dan said this was "new" so I assumed Busse hasn't used it on blades before. I saw a special a number of years ago about cryo treating gun barrels. Those barrels were more accurate and lasted longer with no need to retreat them. One thing that stood out was they said they would stick other objects in with the gun barrels. Disposable razors was one, they said the cryo razor didn't dull. Always wanted to get my hands on one of those razors.

I imagine Jerry and Dan are always trying new protocols. Whatever they did, that Scrapazishi is amazing. Even companies like Buck have their own secrets. Their 420HC performs quite well for me for an inexpensive stainless. Of course, it can't touch Busse's 154CM.

Hey Falcon, it that a Philippine blade about the Busse? Looks like it may be a Water Buff horn handle. Seen plenty of those in my 3 years in the P.I.

Yes SkunkHunter, it is a Water Buff horn handle bolo from the Jest course in olongopo philipines. It is one of my favorite knives second to my NMFBM, I only wish I could get this design in INFI or SR-77. Spent a few months in PI from Iwakuni Japan on Det. I wish I could have been as fortunate as you were to stay 3 years, that place rocked in 1984. I got to go to the Jest course and do there survival course where I got my Bolo. Did you ever bring any Bolo's back when you were there?

Re: The Scrapizashi Is In The House - 09/10/10 02:33 PM

Falcon, I brought back a "Negrito hunting bolo", basically a 9 1/2 inch blade bowie knife that I LOVE. Oh and I also brought back a Japanese style sword, about a 27-28 inch blade. That is what I had in my hand when I chased the guy that tried to break into our house with when the PC stopped me. I WAS trying though, I was about 2 blocks from home, sneaks, pj bottoms and no shirt! And this was in about 1976 or early '77! Somewhere between 0200-and 0500! Luckly someone knew me and vouched that I was a "good guy". All they told me was to NOT do that again! I didn't. You DO NOT want to be looking down the barrels of 4 M-16s if you can help it.

Renee or Dan:

How possible is it for you to make a long cordura sheath similar to the one for the Dogfather? I have really enjoyed the Regulator sheaths, the Dogfather sheaths (also used for Busse BWMs), and the S6 sheaths (also used for a few S5s).

Please consider it.

If you make a cordura sheath available, I will definitely by more knives of that model.

Thanks.

SkunkHunter, very cool with the hunting bolo, one thing about the negritos is they do make some very effective choppers, only if they had better steel with better edge retention but other than that it works and has been working for many decades and is a combat and survival proven weapon.

Awesome! As soon as I first saw the Scrapizashi I knew I had to have one. Love the simple yet bad-[censored] design. This will be my second Scrap Yard knife. I bought a Scrapper 6 about a year ago and was hooked. Can't wait 'til I can get my hands on the thing. I pity the [censored] fool zombie coconuts that I will chop on that glorious day!

Re: The Scrapizashi Is In The House - 09/16/10 12:26 AM

I don't know if this would appeal to others, but there are a bunch of kydex and leather makers doing sheaths. I would be more interested in a full coverage cordura case of some sort. Honestly, I'm going to get much more use than from a sheath. With a double zipper if would still be relatively easy access. They make some for katana's and fencing swords. Also, would have room for a nice Scrapyard logo.

Scrapizashi in sheath:
"Did that guy just walk by with a sword"
"Yes, I'm already calling 9-1-1"

Scrapisashi in case:
"Wonder what that cool logo is for?"

I watched Shaun of the Dead yesterday (great zombie movie, tons of zombie-bashing) and all I could think about was the Scizzy...

Great movie for sure, looking forward to the new zombie movie and me holding my Scizzy.
