A poor mans dangler & other little mods. - 10/03/10 04:16 AM

I had the belt loop from the Dumpster Mut sheath on my B11 sheath the last time I went camping & it rode way to high,so I decided to attempt a dangler after seeing HD's newest Rainwalker goodness.I just used the materials I had on hand.I thought I'd try the snap hook & part of the webbing from the shoulder strap of a carryon type bag.
Before..

and after.

Works great & it should be strong enough.I can also take the loop off & put a teklok on at an angle for crossdraw carry if I need to.Probably won't though as I like to carry my .357 crossdraw.I also went to the local bike shop & scored some old innertube to slip on the handle to fatten it up.I first put one on,but it still felt a bit skinny so I forced another on.What a difference it makes & feels real good. Can't wait to try it out.I also made some "ranger bands" to slip on the sheath.
And my first attempt at a D-guard,pretty uneven weaving,but it works so it's staying. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
I used the 3/32 tether cord from countycomm.

Then I decided I needed a few survival items with me when carring the B11 so I used one of the RBs to attach an old double pouch I had on hand. Not totaly secure but it won't rattle or shake off.
I still want to try a Maxp. cocoon pouch for more room/items.
Maybe Bushman can repost pics of his? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Lets see..I've got a ceramic stick,a fatwood stick & a Maratac AAA in the inner slot & a lightmyfire steel w/striker & a piece of innertube in the outer slot.

PS Honorable mention goes to the great little Swamp Warden piggy backed under the pouch.
These two knives are great together IMO.

Oh,and Roddy Cat,the unknowing model.

Now I need to go camping!

Myke, that IS nice. You got a lot of the goods onboard. But I'm drooling over the Warden!

Great looking survival setup Myke.
With just that on you you handle almost anything.
With my FootLong sheath on it's way I will be putting a similar package together.
Thanks for sharing!!!

Looking good. Necessity is the mother of all invention--you got it down pretty good too.

Thanks dogs.
I took the B11 to work today & did some chopping on a 2x4 & the 2nd innertube layer on the handle slipped right off,but the other stayed on nice & tight. It'll do.

I love the D guard you did. I gave up trying to make one for my blade. Maybe later after the frustration wears off.

Jeff, this is the one over at the BF Busse site,in the stickies.I don't remember the guy's name, but its pretty easy, just weaving in & out/over & under.

First, I absolutely LOVE the piggyback.

Second, I love the survival kit!

This is a very practical rig. I've been contemplating something very similar, and might steal a few of your ideas.

Thanks for posting <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
