Scrapivore In Hand . . . VIDEO

Scrapivore In Hand . . . VIDEO - 10/22/10 12:30 AM

Here's a video that shows the size of the Scrapivore in the hand of a fairly big guy. It should also allay the fears that some have concerning being cut while prying. Not saying that it can't be done, but you can cut yourself with any knife.

Oh and BTW there will be a left handed version with the wedge grind on the opposite side.

Thanks for the video, Dan.

I'm getting one, but the video didn't really influence that. I wanted one anyway. With my small hands, I think it will be great for a back up blade while in the field.

Dan has the thickness spec at approx 1/8" (.125") but the video makes it appear to be somewhere between 5/32" (.156") and 3/16" (.187").
I would like to see it closer to the latter.

Fantastic!!!

I can't wait to order a coated one!

The satin is wonderful too. Maybe every Dog will order at least one of each.

Better have PLENTY of stock before listing this one! We all have waited for a SYKC Necker for a long time and through many offerings.

Great to see this coming to fruition Dan. Well done to all concerned.

And about that SYKC sheath for this.......

I have to pry open crates at work all the time, so this would be the bestest thing EVAR! I'll take 8!

Well, one or two, but it'll be a better EDC than the chop-job thing that I carry now. a little paracord wrap on the handle, comfy! and I won't have to worry about damaging my Muppy!

Re: Scrapivore In Hand . . . VIDEO - 10/24/10 03:48 AM

Is there a "right way"/"wrong way" to pry with it (other than hold onto the spine, not the blade). My intuition would be to use it beveled side up, but that's not how it's used in the video -- am I wrong?

I think it would probably depend on what you were prying. If it were a nail on a flat surface you would want the chisel side down to give you a little lift.....I think.

Beveled side up is how I use a prybar also.
It just depends on what you're prying I guess.
Opening cans it doesn't matter, opening crates/pulling staples out of boxs, bevel up.

Most prybars have a curved head for leverage. This necker simply allows for prying small jobs so wedge down provides best results. You can always order a left handed verson if you need the wedge up...in your right hand...got ya covered

Re: Scrapivore In Hand . . . VIDEO - 10/25/10 04:25 AM

For me this is the most anticipated release of a knife that I can remember ... considering that I've been into quality blades for more than 12 years and knives in general for 30 years (1st knife at 8 and I'm 38 today!) that says a lot for me.

I'm a tile setter and am on all types of job sites everyday. There are probably over a 1000 tools on my truck and most of them get used.

I cut and pry all day long in one way or another so this one will be a gem!

Did I mention I cant wait !!!!!
