Quality over quantity!!! My Blade scores.

It was little more of a challenge this year over previous years to score knives. I am very happy with mine.

I kinda swore off swamp rat because of what I felt as delays and lack of communication at the swamp. But I'd love a Ratmandu in leather for the rigs.

Yes the top is one inch longer than the standard. I also picked up another nice one from Jeremy Horton. Razor sharp .15 D2..

Jeff also posted pictures of a couple 6-inch RMDs that he scored; one Moss, one Tanker, both with Black Paper Micarta. I think I like the blade/handle proportions better with the extra inch of blade; does it change the balance noticeably?

Jim the balance is very similar to the standard one. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Hard to tell in the pics but the handle is about a half inch longer and a half inch taller. The hand grip is a little different. In the standard grip on the new one you have to adjust your hand forward to access the choil. I think i read in a post that this was not an RMD proto but actually the intial proto of the Ratmandeaux. Edited to say more like 1/4 to 1/2 inch difference on the handles.

all nice scores! like the CG Muk looks a little more than the LE. Like the 6" RMD a little more than the 5" RMD. You win!

also, Is the 6" thin like the RMDX or the same as the store release RMD?

Same thickness as the RMD!

the extra length on the RMD may help it balance better for me. it looks better to me also

I like that new RMD it has a classic look to it plus the added length is nice. I may have to give it some serious thoughts. Thanks for the pictures, do you happen to have a scrapper 6 to show a comparison?

sorry no scrapper 6!!!!! have held one before. this blade is not as tall.

I made it by his table late Saturday afternoon and he only had a few knives left there. I didn't even get a chance to see his folder. The few knives I really wanted to see were all sold. That is a really sweet knife you got there.

How do you like it? How do you like the asymmetrical edge?

I am getting used to it!!!! Being incredibly sharp helps.
