Evolute's Outdoors Photo Thread

Since I get a lot of requests to show pictures, I thought you folks might enjoy a consolidated place to see some. I thought I'd start my own thread, since I didn't want to clog up the Outdoors and Fieldcraft thread.

I'll add a bunch of pictures over time. Enjoy.

Wow, where is the AL Hills?

The Alabama Hills are in California, at the foothills of the Sierras, in front of the Whitney Portal (the entry toward Mount Whitney). Near the town of Lone Pine, IIRC.

Of all the national parks ,Yosemite has got to be in the top 5. If I had choosen a different path in life..I would have loved to guided in the Grand Canyon or Yosemite. Thanks for the memories and your service to us all.

A very artistic eye you have there. Simply amazing and extremely impressive captures.

I have few regrets in my life , I traveled far and wide, but I would have enjoyed these places more if I taken the time. The Military sends you to exotic places , pays you to go and do things....but it seem like another world compared to these photos. There is beauty every where if you take the time to REALLY look.

Evo - you have a special gift. Thanks for sharing all of these glimpses and perspectives that you have captured!

It's a pretty profoundly observant note that you made, AA. Yes, the beauty is all around us. We often are so self-absorbed or consumed that we don't take it in. Every breath is a gift, and every glimpse or perspective is unique within the universe, be it grim or surreal. I am trying to simply observe and treasure it all more, and be a little less critical of things that I find unsettled. Evo's pics are cathartic to me in this perspective. It sounds like they may be to you, as well.
